Having lived in Asia for 25 years I have been spoiled over the years. Japan coming in at number 1 and Taiwan at number 2 for good Teppanyaki steak houses. The food quality here is average at best for some items. In general most food items served were below average. Tempuras arrived not cooked well and the batter they used tasted pretty bad. I think they wanted to save money on buying good Japanese Tempura batter. We ordered their Prime beef which was also average quality. The salad dressing that arrived with their salad was horrible to say the least. Mushroom soup was also bad. This was my first time here and my last time here. I was invited here along with a group of people over a business meeting but personally would never plan a trip here for dinner. This place makes me miss Asia and appreciate the good food they have back in Asia. This Teppanyaki is about what one find in China I reckon in terms of food quality.

Showed up after calling in advance. After arriving and seeing the wait, we were told that we couldnt be seated at the bar until we were seated by staff. Spoke to the manager and were told that they had no hostess on staff... I was ready to leave and never come back. My wife spoke to young lady on staff (Helen :))) that was very friendly, who sat us at the sushi bar. After almost being kicked out of the bar for, "Not being seated by staff", Sushi Chef named "CHRISTIAN" excused the rudeness and served us promptly. After eating sushi from all corners of the world, I must proclaim that he is a young man with extrodinary talents!!! What began as a disaster, ultimately became an extrodinary experience! Great job!!! Ask for a fiery tuna! His experimental taste is divine!

We went there tonight an hour before closing and could not be seated due to a scheduled power outage that was occurring well after closing. We did see the place was busy and many people were seated and eating, along with several that had just been seated prior to us. After taking a lyft ride from home, only to have to turn around and pay for another ride for nothing, we and several other groups requested to speak to the manager. He was the absolute rudest person I have ever spoken to. Not only was he short with us all, he just walked away not answering or questions. If that is how a manager conducts speaking with customers, that is a place Ill never return to nor recommend. He was an absolute jerk!

Had a wonderful cook named Alex.. was the best cook in the house. But the hostess annie was the worst ..she left us unattended most of the time. Only came back when we would tell another hostess to call her to our table .an at the end of everything she was not pleased with our $100+ tip .she had the nerve to come back to ask for more money ..will never go back to this location because of her .. Place will turn you down even if the tables are not full manager was very rude .. I recommend trying the pasadena location.

seriously were here for the teppanyaki but the cook didnt even know how to perform, he didnt even perform. Were also seated with five other teenager that counting change to pay for their food so probably why they gave us a chef in training. as for the food itself, definitely doesnt worth the price without the show. Good thing is that we dont have to wait for a table. There are chef on the other table that have bell and whistle so good luck.

Fantastic hibachi! Ive been to other Tokyo Wakos before and they were all great. This one was no exception. I happened to come upon it when a visiting friend from the Coast Guard demanded hibachi. We were not disappointed. The show was entertaining, the chef was friendly and the food was great. A little on the pricey side, but think of it as "dinner and a show" and its not so bad.

I hadnt been to a hibachi place before so I really enjoyed the show (some people I went with got the specials). There were very few vegetarian options and I wasnt happy with the one that I got (vegetable udon ... very bland). The other people in the party liked their food (though our sushi expert said it was only ok) and were a bit overwhelmed by the amount in the special.

Horrible horrible service on this Sunday evening!!! Cook didnt even put on a show for us just straight to cooking! He put everything on the grill all at one time like it was a buffet while every other chef cooked meat seperate, chicken seperate , seafood seperate etc. just horrible night didnt even eat my food and manager did not care 1 bit!!!

The service was less than great. Sitting at the sushi bar made us less than desirable to the wait staff. I asked for a water and got soda water, then waited 10 minutes to get the opportunity to ask for regular water. The sushi was decent but Ive had much better. I thought per its location we would have had a much more enjoyable evening.

I went for the first time last week. It was THE best dining experience Ive had. Our chef was Angel. He put on a GREAT show. The food was VERY tasty and the service was great. Much better than Benihana in my opinion. I would definitely HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.

Been going there for years in long beach. Im never disappointed, the food is always great as are the staff. i always go there for special occasions when I can. Recommend it to anyone who enjoys seafood and steak. It can be pricey but worth it.

Feels like a sushi warehouse. Not that impressed with the atmosphere or food. Fish was fresh, but servings were small. Service was average at best. Way better choices around this area.

Came for my birthday dinner. All the food was excellent, steaks were perfectly cooked. Thanks Alex for putting on a great, fun show. He was really friendly and entertaining.

We must have come on an off day. They were short staffed, so we had to waited about 45mins before the chef came out, but the food a show was great.

This place is great. Just like the other one with a different name. We come here when we are in the area and always have a great experience.
