This local popular neighborhood coffeehouse has been here for almost 20 years serving downtown Livermore. Serves made-to-order hot and iced coffees and teas, espressos, breakfast sandwiches (all day), pastries and cookies. Extensive made-to-order Italian soda selection. Sells freshly roasted coffee beans too. Has an inexpensive used books for sale area in the back. Baristas are friendly and they do coffee art with the foam. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Most times of the year Panama Bay leaves the big windows open, which gives you the best of both worlds. Lots of people watching. Con - there are flies, but they add to the cafe vibe. Free wifi. Dog friendly. In the back, one unisex restroom for customers. No diaper changing table. The other unisex restroom is clearly marked for "employees only."

Nice vibe, but on two separate occasions Ive experienced unbelievably awful wifi. Do not plan on doing work that requires even a modest connection. One experiences nice throughput on an initial connect for about 10 seconds. Then comes a slow down to sub-dial-up speeds. Finally, after several minutes of nothing, one is either punted from the access point or one disconnects in anger. Reconnect and the process repeats. This is with about a 70% connection strength.

Best hangout on First Street. Part of a small chain of coffeehouses, but with the vibe of an independent. People working there are friendly and helpful. Decent selection of breakfast pastries, but not much else to eat. Sadly, the brewed coffee is just not that good - rough and thin. All in all, though, this is a great place to sit and read the Sunday paper.

Great guys at this place. Had just driven all over Livermore for 20 min looking for coffee. I am not from here. Was on my way to Fresno and needed my espresso badly. They took pity on me and served me early. Having never been here before was not sure what to expect from the coffee. Was awesome! Thanks for saving my day.

My favorite coffee spot in Livermore. If its an especially rough morning, the "Red Eye" is outstanding. Service is friendly, and there is a good bit of room to hangout if you want. The breakfast bagels are good, as are the fresh-baked pastries (especially the puffed-pastry cinnamon rolls w/ orange icing).

Wow! There are a lot of good coffee choices to order from. The baristas are friendly. The place is easy to find and parking is good. Price is comparable to the other chains-possibly a little cheaper but not much. He blended, iced and straight coffee is good!! MMMM.....

Best wifi in town. Great coffee. Friendly staff. Casual dressed down atmosphere. Young and old. Lots of nomad workers and also just hanging out. Dog friendly outside. Good for people watching on 1st Street. Food is just ok not a big selection. Good for just a snack.

Coffee has really gone downhill here. I still get my favorite drink, and it is okay, but when my wife tries to get just a plain Latte, it really doesnt taste good at all. Weve tried multiple times, and its always the same. This sucks, she used to love this place.

The family atmosphere and great vibe were all i needed to rate the most awesome coffee shop on the planet. The coffee is miles better than peets and starbucks. The staff is courteous and strives to make your experience the best everyday all the time.

Theres no reason to go to Starbucks when youre in Livermore. Their straight coffee is great, but Ill usually opt for the big, overgrown monstrosities, like the Royal Breeze (blended ice mocha with toffee and hazelnut, iirc).

Ive only come here on a couple of quick coffee stops but every time theres at least two people ordering that are clearly regulars. Thats a pretty good sign. They have a pretty good selection of teas, coffees, and treats.

My favorite coffee shop, and not just because Ive been around to see it go from Panama Bay to Panama Red and back. Great crew, great coffee and a great spot. (Although I do miss the old coffee mug waterfall in back.)

The staff is all very personal and attentive, they often add the personal touch with latte art. Coffee is pretty good and the atmosphere is relaxed. Arguably the best coffee house in the downtown Livermore area.

Great staff! I come here every morning to get a drink for my commute. I like bringing my kids here on the weekends. The teas are amazing, great for a cold day. Come in and try em out.

Meh. Drinks werent bad, but nothing great. Prices were what youd expect for a non-chain coffee shop. Barista definitely gave the impression shed rather be elsewhere, too.

The staff and customers have been great, but this is not my favorite place. It is very difficult to hear as it is quite noisy. Also, furniture if not very comfortable.

Good place in town to buy fresh roasted coffee beans. Their other drinks are good too, I like the tuxedo mocha. Friendly baristas and a comfy place to hang out.

Good enough to please your coffee-snob friends from SF, NYC, and anywhere else (except youll get a seat and prompt service). Chai Latte is always great.

My Chai Tea latte with 2 expresso shots was just OK. Locals has a dingy feel to it, with flies buzzing all over. Student hangout.

Best Livermore cafe. As reported by my 4 hour visit. Yes, single origin coffee! AND 80s rock. See first sentence.
