So I turned 50 today and wanted "Mexican Food" in Irvine...thats a tall order, but I found this place in my Googling and decided to give it a try. The appearance of the place was really nice, not to "fancy", but nice enough to know you are in a respectable eatery. We had a short wait (reservations are recommended after 4:30, particularly on Tuesdays) and a nice young man (Andrew) sat us, my wife informed him it was my B-day. He sat us and .... basically... we felt like VIPs for the rest of the meal. He got us drinks, he took our order and checked on us a number of times. Our waiter did stop by and said thats "...my bosses boss.." so you are in good hands. Anyway, it was Taco Tuesday so tacos were half price (2.50 each), I decided to get 7 different varieties, yes 7. I got the Taco of the month (Milanesa(Fried chicken)), Filet Mignon, Fish, Carnitas, Mushroom, Chicken and finally Zucchini and Cactus. All were good, but I was most surprised with the Zucchini and Cactus taco, it was great! We also got the "corn", I dont recall the name but my wife said it was AMAZING and was eating it off the serving spoon. Overall, this was a great experience, really good food and we look forward to going again.

Service was awful, waiter came by and refilled one persons water twice and on the second time we asked to refill the rest and she did it. Guacamole is very expensive ~$10 for around half an avocado with some fixins. Food expeditors didnt know who ordered what, I received someone elses food. Also there was almost zero communication between the staff it seemed. We would say/ask one thing from our waiter and the food runner/bussers would do something else. Great atmosphere and hip place to meet with friends, I likely wont go back as the cost was far above the value of the food in my option. Very bland and unimpressive. Also be forewarned there are only a few tacos that dont have an up charge on them. $2.50 taco tuesdays but if you want seafood, steak, or other items be prepared to a $1-3 up charge PER taco.

Awesome concept restaurant, nicely styled, serving Mexico City inspired dishes. We were there during lunch midweek and were seated quickly. The waiter, who was very friendly and helpful, told us they specialize in street tacos made from homemade blue corn tortillas. Liked how you could mix and match, and I have to say that the tacos we ordered were both unique and delicious! A bit expensive though, and couldnt stand the uncomfortable, metal chairs. Im torn between 3 and 4 stars. I would give them a 3.5 if I could, but given my two dislikes, Ill stick with 3 for now and then give them another try later.

What a fantastic find. Had amazing filet mignon tacos, chayote appetizer and zesty Spicy margarita (ok, it was so good, I had more than one). My daughter enjoyed the strawberry margarita, wine flight, and well marked gluten free options, including chicken verde taco and ceasar salad with chicharrónes rather than boring old croutons. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was upscale, yet relaxed. Gorgeous leather granite and wood decor on the patio. Will definitely be back!

Stopped off at this place after I managed to miss dinner. Picked up 4 tacos with carne asada, and an horchata. Came out to $5. The horchata was rich, sweet, and cinnamony (real word? probably not). The tacos were the little kind, so youll want several. The meat was full of flavor and the taco shell was the soft corn tortilla kind--very tasty. There were a whole bunch of salsas available. I had the green guacamole-ish looking kind, which tasted great. Definitely recommended.

A more upscale Mexican restaurant. All the ingredients are fresh and homemade...the blue corn tortillas for the tacos are great. My three taco plate was 20$ as there is an upcharge for filet mignon and lobster. It was worth every penny...though. the flavors are distinct and bold. Very impressed. They also have great outdoor seating and bar that goes from inside to outside... This place is definitely getting added to my regular restaurant list...

Exceptional tasting food that soothes the initial sticker shock. The mezcal pickled watermelon takes your mouth on an unexpected voyage. Nice and modern ambience. Unfortunately the bread pudding was not available which left a Disappointed .. Taste in my mouth, which ultimately was rectified when we got the check. Most of our meal and drinks were significantly less than menu price, apparently some kind of happy hour. Or we cute.

This place is a joke. Dont try to make a reservation, they dont care about it. I did, I asked for a table on the patio and after 20 minutes of waiting at the entrance I ended up inside. The food has nothing special but the price is outrageous. This is a fancy and expensive restaurant without style and taste. The portions are small. The service is chaotic. I dont recommend it at all.

Food is good, but extremely long wait. If youre in a hurry, do not come. Our party of 10 was there for 1.5 hours, waiting for a relatively small amount of food. There are complimentary chips with salsa and guacamole, though, so its not that bad, but we ended up being completely full by the time our food actually came out. Mixed feelings about this location.

Exactly what Irvine needed! My family is from Mexico City and I am reminded of the flavors I grew up with. I also love the ingredients are fresh and the tortillas are handmade. It hasnt been open a month yet and I have already been 5 times to show it off to my friends. My recommendations: parmesan guacamole, fideos and the filet mignon taco!

Very noisy. Hard to hear yourself think. Cannot hear music, only the beat of the music. Poor atmosphere. The food is great, a little pricy but taco Tuesday would relieve the high costs of dinner. The tacos are presented like jewelery at Tiffanys! A very pleasant offering from a modern kitchen.

Revelation! Despite the "street food" branding its gourmet stuff though at great value. As well as the food theres a great range of craft beers (including from Mexico) and cocktails (with mezcal well represented including a flight). Nice vibe too including outside patio.

I went there for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The food is pricy for small plates. We had to wait almost an hour for our food, tough to do when you have to get back to work. Our waiter was very good and brought us a free appetizer since the food was taking so long.

This place is awesome, please come and try it out, this Mexican restaurant has a traditional menu with a little flare, also the inside dinning area has a creative feeling, really allowing you to open your mind up to the menu.

Didnt give five star, since last time we got here its an hour and half wait, but not really their fault, right. This time Friday at five and place is not empty but easy to get in. My new favorite place for a drink and tacos.

Great for gringos and gabachos but over all a bit too expensive for the portion size... 3 tacos should not be $15. Would rather spend $15 at Romans Mexican Food (google it) down the street and get 3 tacos and 2 beers!
