The atmosphere was cute - the food was adequate. However, the waiter pushed the wine and martini menu and was angry that we did not order either with our lunch. After that the service went downhill. He all but refused to bring my husband a small amount of dressing for his underdressed shrimp salad and when he did bring it threw it down on the table so hard it splashed. When my husband stepped aside and asked him quietly why he seemed so angry, he said he said he was too busy to deal with it. Then he ignored our table for the rest of the meal. Thank God for the delighful busser, who smiled, took care of our table, and provided us with what we needed for the duration. I would never go there again, but I hope the server will be replaced for the sake of other patrons.

We visted wine country last week. We stayed and dined here. Perfection is how I would describe the food! Beautifully presented and just as beautifully in my tummy. We had the halibut and crabcake, and for dessert the bread pudding. Superb! The rolls are just as great and too many to choose from martinis. We stayed in secret cottage #3. I so much appreciate B & Bs over hotels. You will appreciate them, and they are far much better. This room was spacious, romantic, and had everything we needed. Very pleasant, and secluded. Plus, a walk away from the restaurant and Garden Court Cafe (for breakfast). The perfect getaway if you are on a wine country trip!

The food was delicious but the service wasnt. I asked about a dish having tomatoes and our waiter confirmed twice that it didnt. Once I received the dish, it in fact did have tomatoes and the waiter saw me picking them out and tossing them onto my husbands plate. When it came time to pay the bill, my husband asked if there was anything they could do as far as my meal. Our waiter said hed ask the manager and came back saying being I ate it that there was nothing they could do. My husband and I are in the food industry and we know that there is always something you can do for the customer.

Live within walking distance so wifey and I might get to enjoy the martini bar more than most, hopefully that doesnt sway my review too much! Awesome burgers, amazing salads, and of course the martini bar. Love sitting outside in the garden having a martini after dinner. The steak has been average, sometimes their specials are incredible, other times ho hum. Its hit or miss with main courses outside of the staples. Love this place, love the lady that runs it, love Glen Ellen. Will continue to love this restaurant til the end!

The meal we had was insulting. A flimsy and extremely fishy salmon croquet arrived at the table and upon sight of it, I knew we were screwed. The non existent flavor was still somehow disgusting. The jerk salad was chewy and had so much vinegar in the dressing I thought I was drinking battery acid. The calamari was passable, but completely unremarkable and the sanoma salad was an elegant take on rabbit food. The staff were flustered and innefectual. Maybe it was a bad day to dine, but I wont be returning to find out.

We stayed for three nights in Secret Cottage #4. It was wonderful! Our breakfast nook looked over the quietly babbling creek. Everything was better than expected. Comfortable bed, clean, fresh fruit delivered to our Cottage daily. Fireplace and in-room hot tub were nice touches. The attached restaurant also had really great food. Other positives were Glen Ellens Metro Market with fabulous deli and salad bar, and the Jack London Saloon if you like hanging with the locals. These places were only a two block walk.

This is CERTAINLY the best restaurant in the Sonoma Valley......and one of the best in the bay area. It rivals any restaurant in the city. The chef is inventive (the ABSOLUTE best vegetables we have ever eaten), best brick chicken anywhere, pizzas are amazing and the home made ice cream is the best. The staff is friendly and efficient and not stuffy at all. It is a pleasure to dine in this neighborhood gem.

The host was rude to my wife, did not even acknowledge her, but acknowledged some other patron with a hearty "hey how are you". When he finally acknowledged her, no smile, no greeting. More along the lines of "who are you" My wife asked if we could eat outside, his reply? Shrugged his shoulders, no reply and turned away from her. Not very nice Id say. We did not stay, went elsewhere.

Nice cocktails. Enormous, seemingly never ending wine list. Fancy appetizers. Cozy little bar. Did not have dinner, so I cant speak to their menu. Service at the bar was quite expeditious. Wife and sister in law loved their drinks and apps. The beer list has some excellent beers, but the list is a bit on the short side.

One of our favorite restaurants in Sonoma Valley, the GEI offers a fine local wine list, food that is presented beautifully, prepared perfectly and filled with delicate tastes and aromas. The service is attentive and not overbearing and the meals are reasonably priced. Highly recommended. So are reservations.

Delightful place when not too busy or with loud patrons inside. We sat in the box window; had a killer Cab that made up for the forgettable meal. Outside seating is the way to go. Glen Ellen is always lovely. Well be back to try out the cottages and go for a hike at Jack London with a little more time.

Great little find. The food was perfect and the staff was very friendly and efficient. We had a Kobe Beef burger that has ruined normal burgers for me. Also had steak and shrimp seasoned with tarragon with potatoes (was a special). This is a beautiful, cozy and romantic place for dinner.

My partner and I had a lovely, romantic evening in the sun in their outside dining area last week. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food was to die for! I had the chicken and my partner had steak. Both dishes were perfect as were the oysters we had to start.

One of our very favorite places to eat. Always take our out of town guests here for the food and service. Adorable cottages on the creek. The only reason this doesnt get five stars is the menu is a bit limited. Always very good but would love to see some rotation

This place simply does it right. We stayed at the inn 2 nights, and wished we spent our whole vacation there. The restaurant provided us with a memorable (and affordable) meal one evening. I would recommend both to anyone looking to spend some time in Glen Ellen.

We ate lunch here one day and if we had more time in the area, we would have been back. The patio is great. You might want to make a reservation, even during lunch, because the place is very popular. I had a dish with mussels and french fries, it was fabulous!

Adorable spot, perfect for date night or a special romantic evening. Wonderful drinks, obviously martinis and signature cocktails, but fun wine list too. Delightful service, fantastic food... this will easily become a staple. Thank you so much!

Exceptional filet mignon special and Kobe burger meal. Bread, fondue, service amazing as well. Id like to shake the chefs hand for possibly the best meal of my life. Im so glad we stopped by and recommend this as highly as possible.
