Had to give one star to review. The food was good but, lets be honest. I was ordering eggs, bacon, and toast. A place like this is one in a thousand. You really need to stand out to make it. I guess the way they choose to accomplish this is my charging 16 dollars($2.50, American, for an a la carte egg) for diner meals and then acting like you just upended their entire fabric of reality by having the nerve to step in the place and sit down to order. The service was abhorrent. Period. We brought 8 people into the place this morning and not 15 minutes after the bill comes they tell us " you have been here long enough you need to go." I dont know if the waitress was forced to say it to us by management, but by the strain in her voice when she asked it was clearly awkward. There were plenty of open tables and staff. I am a professional in the industry. Ive never even heard of this happening in a situation where there are tables available, then let alone an attempt to justify it as a practice. If you arent local. Dont go here. You can buy a dozen eggs at the store across the street for the price of one egg at this place. Will be having twice as many people tomorrow for breakfast. Guess where we arent going, Roger?

First off this is a review for a meal i had here a few years ago with my girlfriend. It was just such an embarrassing situation that i have never forgotten about it. Im glad i finally remembered to post this review. Anyways so my girlfriend and I came here for lunch after enjoying the sadly now shut down Lavender Spa down the street and the food was amazing but unfortunately the service was lack luster. But the thing that completely ruined everything was as we were getting ready to leave the I assume manager came out and said loudly and publicly, "Why didnt you leave a tip for your waitress"? He continued on asking if she did anything wrong and other such questions. Mind you we were standing right in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by people. We had decided to not leave a tip because of bad service. Anyway so we were dumbfounded that anyone would even do this so we handed over (felt like at gunpoint) 5 dollars. This was a horrible and disgusting experience for me and my girlfriend on an otherwise amazing day. I wish to this day that i confronted that horrible little man for making us feel like we did.

Worst breakfast ever in my entire life. The eggs Benedict was on thin slices of white bread completely mushy and tasteless . The corned beef hash consisted of chunks of potato with cubes of corned beef mixed in a bowl over microwaved hashbrowns. No spices. Absolutely careless. Slapped together. The entire thing didnt look like it had been in a frying pan at all. It was horrible and plopped in a big pile inside a cereal bowl. The crêpe was the worst. It was gummy and sticky and hard with big chunks of fruit thrown over the top and what looked like canned blueberries and syrup smeared on the top of it. Reluctantly, we sent it back because it was inedible. The second one arrived looking much the same as the first. The waitress served the food and did not even blink at how ill-prepared the food was. It was also expensive. Honestly, a food nightmare. Whoever was cooking did not know how to cook and didnt care about doing a decent job. Awful. Really disappointing.

After having a very relaxing visit to Calistoga, we stopped in here for breakfast. Breakfast was great, but then after realizing that we didnt have enough cash for the check, we asked if it was possible to split it and use our credit cards. The waitress, clearly annoyed, grabbed the cards, split the check then proceeded to staple the cards multiple times to the check, then all but flung the check onto the table. I had three staples in my card to pull out, one of which was right through the magnetic strip, rendering it completely useless, as I soon discovered as I tried to purchase gas on my way out of town. Also, I have had the additional headache of trying to order and wait for a new card in the meantime. I understand that she was busy (I waited tables myself for years), but this type rudeness is completely uncalled for. Apparently they are not very fond of tourists at this place. Message received, Ill be sure to pass the info along.

We were in Calistoga for the night. Stopped here for breakfast the next morning. It was early and there were only 11 patrons in the restaurant. The waitress served coffee saying it was a bit strong. . .no problem. . . we asked for water to dilute it before ordering. Both my sister and I ordered the same thing: french toast, 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon. When the order came, one plate had only one slice of bacon. All the french toast on both plates was under-cooked. Only the eggs and bacon were edible. The waitress never returned to our table to refresh our coffee even though I watched her refill every other cup of every other patron in the place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. THE SERVICE WAS AWFUL AND THE FOOD WAS EVEN WORSE!!!!

Worst. Breakfast. Ever. Coffee was old and burnt tasting. Ordered the Palisades omelette (green chilies, mushroom, jack cheese, avocado) with a biscuit and gravy. Gravy was like ham fat and drippings mixed with water and flour. Disgusting. The omelette would have been OK if they had diced or chopped the green chilies but they were whole slabs folded over so when the eggs were cooked and cheese melted around the chilies, it was still ice cold inside the folds of the chili which made the whole omelete cold. Hash browns had a powdery coat to them like flour. I ate the biscuit with some jam that set out on the table and looked like a gummy wad. So disappointed as it looked popular and homey.

Waitress was short and seemed annoyed with our order. Food was maybe on par with Waffle House, I am not sure maybe there is a specific thing to order there. It seemed like the locals were being taken care of. The Huevos Rancheros could be made more appealing by my 4 year old. do not think for a second that they will be "The best you have ever had." In short we chose to go there based on reviews, we were sadly mistaken. They seem unkind to tourists and dont want you there. Please dont subject yourself to the food or the service.

Saw the help and people preparing the food say rude and disparaging comments to some officers picking up there breakfast this morning. Totally in professional and inappropriate. Left my food on the table paid the tab and left. Never been more disgusted with such immature and disgusting type behavior before and refuse to step foot in this place again. They didnt even try to hide it made everyone in the place feel awkward and o felt really bad for the two officers picking up there order. Keep politics away from the pancakes guys!!!

I had the lunch special, which happened to be tri-tip with a jalapeño butter, potatoes, and greens. This ended up being cheaper than most items on the menu! The server was wonderful and offered to replace my spinach with a side salad since Im not overly fond of cooked spinach. The tri-tip was wonderfully cooked. I only wish that the jalapeño butter had more of a strong flavor and kick to it! Overall, this was a great place to stop for lunch in the midst of our little shopping trip!
