Since Queens Kitchen was sold i have been going to lucky for all my chinese food cravings. Thier food taste great and it actually looks like the overhead menu. i hate going to a chinese place and your like "what is this goo?" NOT the case with Lucky Chinese. The food taste great and is very afordable. The biggest drawback i would say is the sign that says "CASH ONLY" not that i want to charge it or write a check but it would be much more customer savy to accept ATM cards rather than having a secondary ATM machine where the owner gets a .50 kickback on each transaction heh heh! come on! get with the customer relations! The food is awesome! bring cash and enjoy...

I just recently moved from Burbank CA to Fountain Valley, CA and feel very lucky to have this place sort of in my backyard. The food is amazingly great, the prices are astonishgly affordable, Im talking $6 average for dishes, special 2 item combos for $5 and change and best of all heaping servings, I mean extremely abundant portions. I really love this place. Expect to find a line between 5pm & 8pm, the decoration is well humble but this place is more known as a take out than an eat in place. I highly recommend it to anyone. My favs are, string bean chicken, the kids love the beef and brocoli, kung pao chickent and Shrimp fried rice.

Well-- i read all your reviews and decided to give Lucky a shot-- I guess they have the last laugh. I believe it all started with the MSG-- then trichinosis?? All I know is that I was puking and making the horrible big "D" by midnight. I write this to all readers as I lay here on the couch with the chills about 15 hours later. The place was busy and I figured they had a big turn around on the food. Oh well. Looks like there is only Thai- Japanese- Vietnamese-and bad chinese food in H.B. Good luck to you if you dare step foot inside!!!!

No, you are wrong Christina. The food is bad and so is the service. I asked the server and the cashier three times to put my fried shrimp in a seperate bag instead of on top of the wet food. They pretended they didnt understand english and did it anyway. Two minutes prior to this I saw the same server put another customers fried chicken in a bag for them. I brought the food back to work. Soggy shrimp, rice and noodles terrible. House special had no flavor. Do not waste your time or money.

Horrible horrible service we found a hair in our food a few weeks back we decided to try it out again and they were all talking among themselves in Chinese or something looking at us then looking down and none of them wanted to help us then one finally decided to help us and she kept glaring and giving us dirty looks and they kept talking in their language it was just very rude and disrespectful never ever ever am I going back and we have been going for over 10 years

The food tastes decent for Americanized Chinese, and they offer very generous portions. But the staff is incredibly rude. They serve you poorly, but more surprisingly they demean you as they serve you (assuming you cant understand them). They also made rude remarks about other people in line. Im not going back. To the owners/employees: Just because the person youre serving is Caucasian doesnt mean that they cant understand your language.

A Local Area Treasure Tucked in a shopping mall is this gem of a Panda Express-type of Chinese Restaurant. The staff is uniformly friendly and when one of the people in our group wasnt totally happy with his choice, it was replaced promptly and with a smile. A wide range of choices with some unusual twists (spicy squid) and lots of vegetarian choices made all of us feel Lucky to have found this no frills but very special restaurant.

Really good Chinese food at a reasonable price. The servings are big. A three item plate is like $9 which is great because you get a ton of food, well enough for 2 people. The house special chicken is a must, and the fried squid!! There is almost always a line out the door, but the women here work quickly to get everyone taken care if. Just so you know, this place is CASH ONLY, but they do have an atm inside.

This is fast food grade food, not restaurant grade. House special chicken is addictive. I always get two item combo then put 1/2 in a container for another meal because the portion is super generous. Very unhealthy food...but decent tasting. Not authentic Chinese but good enough for me. The servers are always nice and polite...I always go during rush hours to ensure that im getting fresh food.

Great Chinese food with more options than most fast food Chinese places Ive been to. Their egg foo young and fried squid are awesome! I rated them 4 stars because they tend to run out of their popular items quickly during peak times. They should be able to anticipate that by now and prepare accordingly so customers dont have to wait an additional 10-15 minutes for the food to be ready.

Ive been coming to Lucky Chinese for over 20 years. There is always a line but the food is always fast and hot. The same people run the counter and they arent very chatty but they are very professional. This is comfort Chinese food at its best. I personally love the 2 item combo with half rice, half chow mein, and Orange Chicken (double).

Fresh food and generous amounts not to mention very tasty. I have had the not so fresh food which in a way is my fault, but word of advise, dont wait till the last half hour, you cant expect them to make more food minutes from closing unless you call ahead and they will make for you. Otherwise food is always good here through out the day

Line style chinese food. This food is great, and the place is cheap i have no idea how they pack so much food into a tiny box, it is actually amazing like they were trained by houdini, in fact maybe that is why he died because he was too full of this awesome food when he got punched... Ill get back to you on that, oh CASH ONLY

Disgusting place, not recommended, dont waste your money on this place. I was utterly horrified with the food. The only good food is the fortune cookie. Dont come here. The food has no flavor, its soggy, its gross. This place is 15 dollars and it tastes like 1 dollar food. If you want to try this place, see for your self.

Much worse than any other Chinese fast food Ive been to. I dont understand why their orange chicken tasted so bad. Almost rotten tasting, I couldnt eat it. The rice was bad, the noodles were too. The only good thing I got was the fried squid. Go try it, maybe youll like it, but I sure didnt.

Lucky Chinese is a great place to eat, the food is always fresh and delicious. I especially like the House Special Chicken, umm so good, Great food and inexpensive. I eat there at least once a week! The wait staff is the best. I recommend this place to all my friends and now you too.
