Undoubtedly, best/authentic/tasty south indian food ever had in US. I happened to eat at Mylapore 4-5 times, while I accompanied my husband to Sacramento. I have fallen in love for the food during my first visit and was insisting my husband to take me to Mylapore during subsequent visits. We have tried Samosa chole, Rasamalai, several dosa varieties, Parotta, Thali etc. Truly, food was amazing. Just as they have promised in their website, the food is fresh and the aroma/taste of the food lingers even after you have left the restaurant. All of their dosa varieties are just great (esp when dosa is crispy) and the accompaniments tastes heavenly. Coconut chutney is their highlight (made from fresh coconut) and their sambar is also fresh and tasty with right consistency. We live in bay area and honestly, I have never had such tasty sambar/chutney anywhere in bay area. Their pricing is also very nominal when compared to other places. I love the ambience they create by playing carnatic instrumentals in the background. It is so relaxing to hear while you eat. Staffs are also very friendly. The only drawback that I would say is that when the place gets a little crowded, your order might get delayed and also, you will miss the personal attention from the staffs. In short, Mylapore is worth a visit. Dont miss to stop by during your next trip to Lake Tahoe.

i was there last evening with my family and friends but i feel the worst service and food i ever had and i will never think of going there or recommend any one to go there. first of all when we ordered food we ordered coke, mango lassi and they gave us coke cans not even cold and when we asked for glass with some ice they gave dirty plastic glass and they charge $2 for can of coke. i dont mind paying that but at least give proper service and mango lassi was the worst. one guy was always standing on top of my table and watching us eating and when i asked him something then he told me he dont know hindi or english and was really then why r u standing here. ok now the most funny thing these guys know they give worst service and they dont deserve tip or may be just few just to be good they will charge u tip without telling u. i spend almost $70 and they charge me $14 tip and i never saw they already charge me tip and i gave them $100.

We decided to visit Mylapore today as it had received amazing reviews online. But our experience turned out to be really bad. Though it was lunch time, most of the lunch items like Thali was not available. We ordered Mylapore special dosa. The dosa itself was decent. However, the chutneys offered were ice cold and watery. We also ordered bisibelabhat which was served without any raita. The person who served us looked harassed and did not offer any explanation for non availability of menu items. A cheerful countenance while welcoming the customers and basic pleasantries were missing.

Food is ok, meals come with a lot of options, but tastes average. You can barely enjoy masala dosa as they dont have enough masala in it. Ive been going there at different occasions since an year but never felt satisfied. Service is really poor. Once I opted to take Togo, it was 3:00pm . I asked them if I can eat there, there were lots of free table, still they didnt let me eat. I had to take the food, sit just outside the restaurant in my car and eat. Never take Togo coz you might miss lot of curriers and still get charged the same.

Highly recommended. I was very impressed by the manager who took it upon himself to take care of my family when we visited. He was so professional and friendly not just with us but with all the customers too. He helped us pick our meals since we were not familiar with South Indian cusine. I ate bisi bele bath and it was flavorful, creamy, and hearty. We also had Dosas which were very pleasant. I definitely recommend Mylapore if you are looking to try Indian food for the first time or are looking to have a delicious vegetarian meal.

Alright. The food is great. Awesome. However, the servers need to learn some manners. We were super regular and started noticing how rude and disrespectful they were and one day, it just got to the point that Im never going back to mylapore again. Piece of advice: If the closing hour says 09:30 PM, you cant blame the customer for walking in by 09:15. We ordered Rava Dosa and the server goes how it takes a lot of time to make rava dosa and we ought to have been earlier. Thats not how it works folks. This isnt India.

I absolutely love this restaurant and the food they serve! The menu is extensive and Im slowly learning about South Indian vegetarian food that is very different from the typical Indian restaurants in and around Sacramento. Idly vada combo and tomato & peas uthappam are my favorites -- delicious! Oh, and I always have to order a couple of masala chai teas although the filter coffee is also excellent. I only wish they had a restaurant in midtown Sacramento but will gladly make the drive. Thanks Mylapore!

Mylapore is probably the best in quality, hygiene and authenticity of taste! It takes them once in a while some time to serve, but once served it is a great treat. The restaurant places a lot of emphasis on quality than speed. I recently had carrot curry - it was so well cooked with coconut and cabbage - I relished it immensely. Also the Puris are not soggy are full of oil - they are so fresh and no sign of oil! Every small detail is taken care of for high quality of food!

As a restaurant worker and manager most of my life, I notice certain details consciously, about food and taste. Im looking for certain things from eating outings. Mylapore has not let me down 5+ times so far, everything is bursting with synchronized usage of spices, they often have happy hour deals and buy 1 get frees on appetizers. Really worth checking out, especially if you are new to Indian food and want something invigorating!

I have no idea why this restaurant does not have any reviews till now. Food is very good at this place. Portions are small compare to other indian restaurants but prices are also very low. Dosa is excellent choice here but veg thali is favorite. I am a visitor from other metro city where we have many Indian restaurants but I never had this kind of nice meal there. Love it..

Food was really authentic and good. They told us that Thali was over first but it was served to other people who came after. Could have just asked us if we want to wait. Service is good but not excellent. Mylapore dosa was good. No one bother to ask you if you are doing ok and everything was good. They got the food but they definitely need to work on their service

Bad food and Bad service! Waited 45-50 minutes for food, one person in our group didnt even get her food after long wait. They didnt even bother to inform her that they didnt make her order. No apology. When you enter, do not expect to be welcomed because they dont! The owner was very rude. Not at all a good place if youre looking for a pleasant experience.
