You know that gorgeous chick you met once, that turned out to be a horrible person inside? This is what this place is... As a fan of fried chicken, I was excited to visit this place when it was recommended to me. When I got there I was excited by seeing the line to go into this place. We ordered 5 pieces of chicken, Señor Croque, Mexican Poutine, and Border Slaw. Ill start off by saying that it all looks delicious, hence the "Gorgeous" part of it. It seemed all well crafted for that perfect instagram #Foodporn post... but quickly I realized it wouldnt be a good idea to mislead any of my friends. All the food (excluding Mexican poutine) Was plain and bland in flavor. I even asked them to dip the chicken in a spicy sauce, and it did not make any difference. Ive never been so disappointed at chicken before, and Ive visited the worst of them all. How can such a good looking food taste so bad? No idea... The Mexican Poutine was probably the only item that actually had flavor but most of it was cause or the Jalapeño cheese wiz. The place is huge, and we found seating quickly...even on a peak time. The whole concept of the restaurant is amazing, but thats about it. To top it all off, the price was a little steep for what the actual food tasted like. Ill pay some good

Newly opened restaurant with a hip modern interior flowing out onto a large front courtyard.....like an Aussie style beer garden which serves up succulent chicken and egg dishes. One of The Crack Shack Directors Dan Pena explained to me that they source only the best free range organic chicken available ..always fresh never frozen. The restaurant features a huge corner bar loaded with 32 beers on tap many of which are premium craft varieties. There are also multiple banks of large screen TVs adorning various walls inside and some hilarious chicken themed wall art to prod your sense of humor.Plenty of off street parking is available in the lot behind the restaurant. It truly is chicken nirvana!

Ive eaten at Richards places in Atlanta before he moved to San Diego and have always been pleased with the quality of his food. The Crack Shack is in keeping with his high quality standards. Approachable food done with high end techniques/execution at moderate prices. Its definitely a step up in price from fast food. Not as much as youd spend for sit down. Overall, well worth the price from my perspective for the quality of the food. I had the chicken oysters in both hot and original. O prefer the original, but if youre a hot wing flavor lover, youll appreciate the hot. You could make a meal out of an order of the chicken oysters...at $9, not bad.

I have been to the original little italy location and thought it was ok, only, and a little pricey. This one is near me so its my 2nd visit to CS. Same belief. Its "ok" but nothing special. I got the Cali Dip. They asked if I wanted the jalapeno cheese wiz and I said yes, but I am pretty sure they didnt or it was a miniscule portion that offered no jalapeño taste. The dipping au jus was nothing special. The schmatz fries were overcooked and not worth it. The ambience makes up for a lot and they were packed on a Sat around 130pm. Service was fairly fast but it was not a $12+ worthy sandwich.

I wouldnt recommend taking kids who eat real amounts of food. The kids meals are $7 and come with no refillable drink option, a miniscule amount of fries, and a very small main course. I have 3 kids, ages 6, 9, and 11, who always eat (and are happy with) kids meals when we go out. They liked the fries but plowed through them, and disliked their main course. For the adult meals, the fries were good, and the BBQ chicken sandwich wasnt bad. The atmosphere is close to cafeteria style, which is cool, but not when youve just dropped close to $60 for sandwiches, fries, and no booze.

Rude staff and management. They treat take out customers lower than if you sit. I wanted a lot of sauce for a $150 to go order and asked if there was any pre-made. She said "we dont get gratuity on to go orders". I called the office and told them its going to take longer and what the lady said. The manager eavesdropped on my conversation came up and started an argument with me accusing me of lying. It was right in front of customers and everything, she removed her name tag and or never had one in the first place so I think they get away with this Behavior quite a bit

Once you figure out that you stand in line outside to order, itis time to try the most awesome sandwich of all... The Señor Croque. It has the perfect combination of flavors -the umomi factor. This sandwich has crispy chicken, bacon, over easy egg, cheddar, miso-maple butter, brioche. The restaurant gets pretty crowded and I felt like people were circle around us to get up and leave, when I just wanted to enjoy chatting with a friend. Other than that this restaurant is a great addition to Encinitas.

I have eaten here a number of times as I live right down the street. Ill be honest the food is OK. Not as good as you would hope but OK. Today I ordered on uber eats and the order was quickly accepted with an estimated delivery time of 25-30 minutes. I then waited for 30 minutes to get a notification that the order was cancelled without explanation. Theres no way to contact the restaurant through the app so now Im just hangry and wasted 30 minutes of my life. I will not be eating here again.

Different from the usual - I walked in and sat down and waited around for 10 minutes till I noticed people carrying little signs with numbers - You order before you enter, then find a seat. Bar service the same - belly up to the bar and get your own drinks! The food was delivered (thats a relief). I didnt leave a tip, no reason to. This concept might be catching on..... somewhere. Overall kind of pricy when you consider that you are doing all the work. Food was decent.

Not bad... actually, a little bad. Or more just subpar really. Kinda disappointed after all Ive heard. Inside is pretty noisy. Clientele was almost strictly 30 year olds and their kids. They look like they just drove down from Labuan Beach. Sandwich was pricy and 2 dimensional. Chicken looked to be a little undercooked on one. The kind of food that makes you kinda regret eating it. I recommend just hitting up the In N Out across the street.

I am so excited that Cocos turned into this fun, open, funky restaurant and bar with absolutely fabulous bartenders and wait staff! The menu is expansive its not just chicken they have Ahi! And the most important thing...a quality Chardonnay Chalk Hill! The only suggestion I have is live entertainment! There are plenty of amazing local musicians whom I am sure would love to play for the Crack Shack! Think about it

Celebrated a dear friends daughters 21st. As always, superb fried chicken sandwiches of inspired taste and combos. The fries are excellent, crispy and tasty. Love their kimchee BBQ sauce. Great bar staff too, with friendly and accommodating staff all round. We closed the place down, and they couldnt have been more pleasant about some our parties over-excited antics... Will return again & again. Thank you!
