Very unprofessional and very poor customers service to Indian people. My husband and I went to the restaurant to have lunch there. We both looked at the buffet myself is vegetarians and they dint have a good selection for vegetarian food in the buffet. So I decided to order something from the menu as I was going through the menu my husband brought his buffet plate and sat on the table with me. As I was going through the menu to decide what I was going to order. I ate one pakora out of my husbands buffet plate and this lady came at me screaming that I couldnt do that very rudely and disrespectfully.and we left the food and paid them 11 dollars. We will never go back again or recommend any body to go.

I want to give Maharani Indian Restaurant 4 stars but their customer service is consistently horrible. Its not a matter of politeness however; its a lack of awareness and waiting skills. Water is rarely refilled, waitress never comes back unless you have more food coming, and Ive been here twice where Im just sitting waiting for drinks. The last time I came here for dinner, my fiancee and I finished our meals without drinks. Food is great for Sacramento as I havent been to an Indian restaurant here thats blown my mind and there is ample parking. If I remember correctly bathrooms are unisex but please let me know if Im wrong.

This place is absolutely amazing. My wife were looking for an Indian restaurant in elk grove since we moved from midtown and we found Maharanis!! From the moment you walk in you know this is going to be a great place. The aroma from the kitchen almost stops you in your tracks as you immediately look for a table. The food is terrific, great flavors in every bite and the decor inside the restaurant is subtle but elegant. and I love the music that they play in the background, it just adds to the great environment.

One star for good customer service when we picked up food. I ordered chicken biryani, tikka, rice and special house naan. I liked the naan but the restaurant was stingy on the meat in the biryani and tikka dish. I could barely see any chicken. I couldnt believe we paid money for that and barely got two or three tiny piece of chicken. They gave us very little biryani compared to other restaurants. It was half the serve.

Good food, decent staff, clean restaurant. But "why" is that the indian buffets are so limited with only 10 entrees altogether whereas Chinese buffets go all out & have 150 entrees. Indian cuisine is beautiful & delicious, wish there were more options to savor. It would be nice if they have seafood, turkey, & more lamb & chicken dishes.

Dinner buffet is not huge, but the items (butter chicken, tandoori chicken, lamb, basmati rice, fish, samosas to name a few, not to mention the different desserts and naan) are very good. All dishes are wonderfully seasoned. As for the service, the employees were very friendly and we even got to meet the cook.

Food was good, decent variety for the lunch buffet but service can definitely improve. The waitress never came to check on me, she forgot to bring my naan (the place wasnt busy at all) and had to ask twice to refill my drink because she never bother to check if I was ok.

The food is amazing and theres a lot of vegetarian options. My husband was skeptical at the beginning but when he got his food, he was amazed by how good it was. We enjoyed our experience very much and will definitely go back. Oh, and their naan is delicious!

Lunch buffet was very good, nicely spiced, not too hot but with a kick you dont usually find at a buffet. Not a huge buffet but enough variety and all fresh, quality dishes. Definitely worth checking out for yourself. Ill be back!
