WORST PLACE EVER!!!! My family and I walked into the restaurant on the date of OCT.03,2015 waiting to be seated after 10 minutes we were seated outside and the weather made the waiting a little better, when seated I saw a guy named Harris and asked for help. He was very tall guy, with dark black hair, he didnt seem to be Indian, and he was very kind so Harris helped us with the everything and did a Wonderful Job, and right when he left I saw him getting yelled at by who i am guessing was his boss,so this guy is just straight up yelling at Harris in a foreign language and I see poor Harris just standing there looking clueless because he clearly didnt know what the other guy was saying. I just think that that kind of behavior is just RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL and DEFINITELY not needed in such a LOW CLASS RESTAURANT. Never the less when getting ready to go a man with the face appearance of a little boy comes and I was about to personally give him the tip when he said," Our boss doesnt allow us to accept any tips,if you would like to give us a tip it will have to go to the tip jar and the Boss uses it for the restaurant". Last time I checked the tip is supposed to be given to the employees as a reward not for the Bosss expanse to "take care of the restaurants needs". The food was DISGUSTING and tasted like dish washer. My only pleasant memory for this experience was that I HAD SUCH A WONDERFUL HELPER (HARRIS) if you are thinking about going to this "restaurant" I would suggest you think twice because this place is so horrible that i would rather go to MacDonald or Taco Bell

I went to Bawarchi on Friday (3/25) with my 2 sons (8 & 14). We have been living in Sacramento area for the past decade or so and always lamented about the lack of good India restaurants in this area. Yeah there are several places (Ruchi, lately Peacock to name a few). Over the past 20 years we have lived all over the US and been to several Indian Restaurants. Majority of the Indian restaurants are predominantly Mughlai cuisine and does not represent the Authentic Indian Food. Growing up in the east coast of India and going to school in the India’s west coast, I love the Indo-Chinese cuisine. I did not come across any decent options during the time I lived here. Looking at the menu of Bawarchi, it looked tempting and promising. So when we walking into the restaurant on the Friday evening, it is fairly busy but we got seated quickly. We ordered Chicken 65, Shrimp 65, and Chilly chicken as appetizers and they ended up being our entrees too. All three dishes are delicious and hit the right spot. It remained me of the food I had in India. However, since this restaurant is famous for its Biryani, I ordered Shrimp Biryani and my son had Garlic nan and Baingan Barta. We were so full with the appetizers, we ended up taking these home. The Biryani was spicy but had outstanding flavor. The reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because (A) The nan is not soft and felt more like a Papadum (B) The service was efficient and quick but our server barely cracked a smile and we did not feel welcome. Having said that, we will definitely go back.

I had the Hyderabad Chicken Dum Biryani and it was spiced well and very tasty. My big concern with this restaurant is the disorganization. I walked in just after 5:00pm -- the door was unlocked -- and the employees, who were just standing around, told me that they didnt open until 5:30. I said, "OK, sorry. Google said you opened at 5:00." They just looked at me with a blank stare. I said, "No problem. Ill just come back later." One of the employees walked out with me and proceeded to show me on their sign what their hours are, which I thought was kind of overkill, to be honest. Funny thing about that is their sign says that they open for dinner at 5:00pm. "Oh, sorry," the employee said. I just kind of laughed inside, but I was kind of frustrated that the employee would go to such lengths to prove that I was wrong about their hours. The nice thing is that when they actually opened, which was actually about 5:37, one of those employees came outside and told me that they were now open. Finally, they had several problems charging my credit card, and one of the employees tried to charge me again after my order was ready. Again, just a lack of organization. Ive given them 4 stars, as Im giving them a break because I realize that they just opened. The food was really amazing. Not the best Indian food Ive ever had, but pretty close.

Offers delicious authentic Indian cuisine, not the Americanized bland food you get in many other Indian restaurants. The food is not over spiced either, the proportion of spices used suits my and the familys taste buds. We have been there multiple times and have found the quality of food consistently awesome. The items are always freshly prepared, and you can always taste the freshness. Their queue management for the waiting guests on crowded days is a little bit disorganized, so I would avoid visiting them on special occasions like Mothers day lunch or 4th of July evening just before the fire works at the El Dorado Hills Town center. We are vegetarians, so my review is based on the vegetarian menu.

I wish it wouldnt even let me give this restaurant a star. Yes the food is good. But horrible service ! I asked for a coke 3 times! And I got a coke finally and about sliced my lip because the glass had a huge chip in it! There was absolutely no service what so ever and the guy was straight up rude. Never going to a place where you are treated like that! I never write reviews because people have bad days ya know I get it but for it to be that aweful deserved a review!

Food was excellent but service sucks. Very very slow. I have seen many restaurants open and closed at same location. I hope they are not next because they have good food. They have to understand that lunch crowd does not have 30 plus minutes to wait for the food and another 15 to wait for the bill. Also they badly needed lunch menu. Price of one dish with naan was almost 13 dollars. Thats dinner price. Lunch items should not go over 10 dollars for one naan and curry.

The best Indian cuisine between Sacramento and Placerville. Has a amazing atmosphere that gives off a real authentic vibe. The food is always made perfectly it seems and nothing on their menu is even relatively "ok". If I could recommend anything make sure to try the chili cheese dosa and Mysore bajii they are both good appetizers. Also it is surprisingly cheap with meals going to a max or 13 or 14 dollars.

Only good thing About this place is that the biryani is most authentic in comparison of any other place in Sacramento region. The reasons for this low rating are - not enough chicken in biryani, poor customer service, longer wait time, errors in order delivery, inconsistent quality. If you can deal with these issues then only you should go there.

My coworkers wanted to try Bawarchi, and I was hesitant. I havent ever been a fan of curry based meals but decided to experiment anyways. Someone suggested butter chicken, and Oh my GOSH! It was amazing. Pair with some Naan bread and you wont be disappointed.
