Nope. Not definitely not worth the 4.5 star average. Barely worth the 2 Im giving. I trusted Yelp and the new bs google maps explore which said this was a favorite of the locals. Sucky sucky sucky. They only had one white wine available, a urine-like Chardonney. They pushed the chef omakazi...maybe for good reason. At the advice of the waiter, I had the seared salmon roll. This thing had he nutritional value of a Big Mac after you accounted for the gobs of mayonnaise on top and the half inch of rice surrounding it. I also had the Love Me Tender roll, which I had picked out before the waiter kept pressing me to order. Turns out it was almost identical to the seared salmon roll, I I say and basically ate 2 of the same roll for 20 mins until they made up some bs about having to close early so I was basically kicked out. Maybe they were mad that I was dissecting the rolls to remove as much rice as I could pinch off with my mayonnaise greased chopsticks. Then they didnt take Discover. If you like white rice, come here. If you like sushi, MAYBE try the nigiri or sashimi, but Id suggest going somewhere else. Unless you love Japanese men with Elvis haircuts. Pleasanton/Dublin must be sushi hell. These reviews are not to be trusted. Theres a sushi place on every block. I havent found a winner yet.

I recommend this place for its tastiness, proportions, prices, and friendly/personable staff * * * * * I love E Sushi! Ive been going here regularly for awhile now and I have to say its awesome. The staff is always friendly and the proportions of quality fish they use are super good! Thats my favorite part. Some nights are very busy. I prefer to go early or for lunch because the staff is not as personable when they are busy, but I think that is expected. One night I came in 6:30ish and by the time we left there was a line out the door! I wasnt that surprised because the sushi is so tasty. A lot of regulars come here; you can tell because they all try to talk to Tanaka san, the sushi chef and owner. He is a really nice guy and will tell you about the Bible if you sit at the bar often enough. Im not super religious, but I appreciate that he cares about people. I know we are customers, but be polite to the staff and theyll treat you well. If you say thank you to the sushi chef he might say, "thank you, thank you very much. lol

This place was a last minute decision based on the huge wait for our usual spot down the street. The reviews seemed positive enough, so we made the trip over to check it out. The location is a little hidden, and to be honest the place looked a little rough on the inside but we excused that as a small thing. Our server seemed to rush us and we made some common selections to get a good feel for the place. Our food was a huge disappointment, the "fresh" fish seemed to have a slight off smell and the rolls were bland and mushy. We addressed our concerns about the fish and the server raised her voice to try and assure us that the fish was "the very best high quality". We didnt even finish our food and got out of there as quickly as a we could. It will be hard for me to return here.

Sushi Q is definitely my go to sushi restaurant when Im in Dublin. The sushi is fresh, tasty, and there is a lot of variety. Prices are good for the area (I live in Stockton, work in Dublin), I can eat a Japanese lunch for under $10??? Unheard of. Wait staff is all courteous and nice. Ive been here a dozen or so times, and every time I leave the chefs and wait staff all go out of there way to wish me a nice day, etc. Not much room in the place though! This isnt your typical "date" type of restaurant, not much ambiance. Im getting some today!

Tanaka San loves fish. Hes Chinese but went to Japan to learn the art decades ago when racism in Japan was even worse! That tells you this wasnt just done on a whim. Sushi/sashimi is the main reason for coming here. Everything else on the giant menu is just average. Theyll even tell you that. Haha. And the quality of fish you get for the price... Its unheard of. Sadly, his health is in decline so who knows how much longer the restaurant will be open. Btw, he loves Elvis and he loves Jesus even more!

This is by far our favorite Sushi place. We love everything we have had there. Go for lunch and you will not leave hungry when you buy the boxed lunch. Some of my favorites: Crazy Monkey and Volcano Rolls. These could not be any better. Make sure to say thank you to sushi chef on your way out, he will reply, "Thank you, thank you very much." He loves Elvis!

I have been eating here for several months now and have only good to say about Diane and her hard working crew. The food is great, the selections are adventurous (at least for me), and the PRICES are much more reasonable than other places that come near this quality. TRY IT! Their specials are especially good...and again, CHEAP!

Very authentic sushi food and respectable friendly staffs; our favorite go to place for sushi fix. Price is just right for the portion they serve and always beyond the exemplary taste and freshness. One of The first and original sushi place in Dublin.

Great sushi, excellent service! Two to three waitresses always help each other in serving their customers, not just one dedicated to your table. That way, getting a drink refilled or ordering another roll of sushi happens very quickly.

Passing through on buisness and stopped at E-sushi for a few rolls. I am very impressed with what I ordered. If youre looking for a laid back rocking sushi spot look no further. Prices are great and so are the portions.

Youll notice immediately what the E in E Sushi stands for (Elvis!) but what will really keep you coming back is the impressive value and freshness of the fish.
