I should start off by saying that the food here is, of course, like most restaurant food, quite edibly delicious. That is not to say that the food is of any superior quality to that of other local restaurants. The restaurant uses very generic ingredients for the sake of maximizing profits rather than using quality ingredients for the sake of creating a notable dining experience. If you want a cheap quick meal that will carry you further down the road towards disease and eventually Cancer, I highly recommend this establishment. If you want to do yourself a little favor I highly recommend The Post, a delicious organic and locally sourced restaurant on the corner of 1st and Cloverdale Boulevard, Planks Café, if a quick bite on a quality baked item would suffice, Taqueria Santa Rosa on the other end of town or the Vietnamese restaurant neighboring it. To my understanding these restaurants seek to use higher-quality and local ingredients. On a final note, I must mention that the spicy chili at hamburger Ranch is delicious. Thank you for keeping our planet in mind and if so God bless

Wow, Im not sure whos writing these 5 star notes -- perhaps the owners. This was soooo bad last night. I had the ribs 1/2 rack: Totally dry, totally untasty, almost no sauce and definitely was not BBQd. A package from the Safeway store premade is much much better. Hubby had the tri-tip sandwich - geez, dry dry dry and overcooked meat that was basically cold. There was nothing on the bun except the meat and it was served open faced so you could add one of their three bbq sauces - or ketsup/mustard. The sauces were pretty bad. Another guest had a hamburger - it was the only good-ish thing on the table - the problem, he ordered a "double" and got a "single" One good thing - the waiter was nice. Definitely a horrible place to go. Next time itll be fast food over this place, and we dislike fast food a lot !!!

Okay, they really are not exaggerating, the hamburgers are fantastic. The seasoning in the meat is really good & its cooked perfectly. Everything we tried was fantastic including the very cute cheesecake in a glass jar. The marinara on the pasta was so good I stole some marinara from the kids & put it on my hamburger - yum! This is one of those quaint places I could picture being featured on the Food Network channel. I think this is literally the best place to eat from the Oregon border to San Francisco. You hope to find a place like this while traveling & luckily we did. They even have a pic of Matt LeBlanc visiting there on the wall :) They have a cute indoor dining area with lots of windows & also an outdoor dining area, some covered & some uncovered.

This place is a gem in the middle of road! Such a great variety of BBQ, burgers, but the best are the ribs - not too fatty, not too much sauce so you can really focus in the tasty ribs! Service was great - we were a large 14 ppl group over several tables and the waitresses got everything right. And the owner is so friendly! Prefect for small and large groups, families with kids. Definitely recommended! And the price much better than surrounding "winery restaurants"

Growing up in the south central US I was spoiled with great bbq while growing up. This place had excellent bbq, great meat quality as well. I had the pork, chicken and brisket(thanks for not calling it tritip) and they were all amazing. I will be back here for sure before I leave the area. There are very few places on the west coast that have been even decent, this is one of two places that were amazing that I have found from San Diego to Seattle.

A nice place to visit, but on the Memorial Day holiday both service and food seemed indifferent. Mac & cheese was pasty and bland; the red beans & rice had curious seasoning and texture that suggested Uncle Bens minus the MSG; the brisket had some morsels of flavor, but was generally dry and smoke-free. If not for the sterling pie and impressive collection of sauces (that I would normally not use on good que...), this mightve been a 3-star review.

Top notch service, food & chill dining. With kids thats everything! My son knocked his milk over spilling everywhere, across table & floor. Our waiter & a waitress rushed over to clean up & put my little boy at ease, when he felt embarrassed. My only complaint is everything tastes so good, I never know what to order! Or I order it all & cant move after!! Hamburger Ranch is our familys place to celebrate, kids go crazy when say were going there

Pull pork to die for. In my opinion, the best I have had!!!! The pull pork melts in you mouth and the flavor is outstanding! The Brisket is also great. The meat is tender and the flavor is great!! I usually dont recommend restaurants because everyone taste buds are different, but I differently will recommend this place!! The reason I didnt give it a 5 is because I didnt try the ribs. Next trip I will try it.

I often drive up to Anderson Valley for wine, cider, and scenery. I always plan the drive to stop here on my way up for early lunch to hold me through the day. The ribs and brisket are done very well and those are the items I would recommend getting. Good choice of beers, would like to see more local ciders on tap. My only critique would be to increase the size of the side dishes.

Ive had mostly good experiences here and the staff is nice. Last time I had the brisket sandwich and got the worst case of food poisoning that lasted for 3 days, the meat just sat in my stomach and I literally had the most disgusting brisket burps for days, i thought I might have to the hospital, I could not get out of bed.

I have been eating here for my entire life, the food has always been great and I consistently find new menu items I like. Best are the BBQ pulled pork sandwich (on a roll with both hot and sweet BBQ sauce and the houses spicy mustard!), and THE best burger ever: the British Burger, hands down my favorite anywhere.

Overpriced food that was good but nothing to write home about. The service wasnt good at all. It took way to long to be served and the waitress seemed to disappear because she didnt come back to the table for refills or to check on the food. I dont think I am going to go back and eat there again.

We stopped at this place coming back to CA. It was just off the 101 freeway, North of Cloverdale. They have some of the best pulled-pork Ive tasted. The brisket is delicious as well. You wouldnt know it by the name, but the BBQ is excellent. Ill try it again when we go through Cloverdale.

HR&BBQ is the real deal! Homemade BBQ sauces that are rich in flavor, I had the spicy, great local beer and wine selections. Outdoor cookin in good weather, occasional live music and the place started as a Texaco serving burgers in the 1930s. Highway 128 at Cloverdale Blvd., off U.S. 101.

I eat here as often as possible. The BBQ is outstanding. Ive brought several people here to experience the wonderful ribs and they were very impressed. Also try the pumpkin pudding cake. Better share with someone as you will already be very full! Breakfast is always a treat.
