Took more than five minutes to be talked too, our server Fai hardly made any eye contact with us, didnt check on us once and we had to ask for water twice before it was brought out. She didnt ask us for any refills on water and if everything was okay at all. She didnt bring the check after we were sitting and waiting for over five minutes and was on her phone. The sushi wasnt that good to be priced as it was and the only reason Im giving 2 stars is because the miso soup was hot and good & I couldnt find it in me to give 1 star. Ill learn how to roll sushi before I came back here.

mediocre when it comes to taste of food & appearance. Lacking flavor & very plain. It was hard to hear our chef - he spoke so quietly we had to ask "excuse me?" Constantly. He entertained us well though. The atmosphere was nice for my husband and i for our date night & baby free. When it came to refills dont expect that until you are already done eating. I have been to way better Japanese steakhouses when it comes to taste of food & service. 2 stars because we did have a good time BUT the service & food were mediocre for a $100+ dinner.

Ojiya gourmet offers an experience that you cant ignore. While I am very picky about my sushi and hibachi grill, Ojiya always has great food, great service, and great owners. When we go there we really feel welcome and the food, well, its just as good as anything you could get at the best sushi restaurants in San Francisco, and they have a great hibachi grill, which makes better grilled food than most restaurants in Chico

We ordered the spider n dynamite rolls for lunch. Both were super awful not worth the money. The dynamite roll was overly burned n the spider roll was poorly wrapped falling apart on the serving plate. We ended up going somewhere else for lunch. I will NEVER come back here to eat again. Take your hard earned money elsewhere!

Service could be better, food can definitely be a lot better, the only thing I can say was good was the salad dressing, when we paid with our cc they "forgot" to give it back and were just staring at us like we didnt want to leave, nothing special, never coming again, dont waste your $ its overpriced for bland food.

I took my friend Gary here a day after Thanksgiving, he has never had dinner like this before. He was vert impressed by the atmosphere, entertainment, food and I would say it was a magical date. I feel we will be going back !

The service was great but there was only one item on the menu that even mentioned steak. Also, the food was just okay, lacking in imagination and taste. The worst part was we paid $60 for this mediocre lunch.
