I got the worst service from here. They do not care about their customers and I believe if we dont go then maybe they will care. I have been here three times as I am visiting from Maryland and I will never come back again. I like to give restaurants the benefit of doubt but they have failed me so many times. In addition, they are racist as I am a woman of color. The times I came, I noticed they treated their fellow asians better than they did to me. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I ordered something specific because the other two times they claimed that I never told them specifically but that did not change anything. Cook at home it will cost you a lot LESS than coming here to be treated like youre nothing. I wouldnt even wish for my worst enemy to come here. Also the woman at the register needs to be fired

Good food, but it takes seriously forever to get it. You should only come here if you have 1-2 hours to kill. The best dish is the beef noodle soup, which comes with an oily slightly spiced broth, noodles, Asian-style beef stew pieces, and a few pieces of bok choy. The soup is usually on point in terms of flavor, but Ive waited 25-40 minutes before for this dish to come out. Ive also tried the pork and chicken rice dishes, but they were rather oily and forgettable. They also come with a weird pickled salad I dont particularly enjoy. Service is what you expect at an Asian restaurant- you just order and wait til they call your number. While I do appreciate how everything is authentically made, I just wish they expedited the process.

Fantastic Chinese food. Our favorite in the region (including Woodland). Their chef is a genius. We especially like that they serve a variety of Chinese vegetables rather than mixing Chinese sauces with brocolli and carrots and . . . well . . . pretending. They also use genuine Szechuan black pepper in some of their spicier dishes which many Chinese restaurants dont use but has a very unique mouth feel. All around top quality Chinese restaurant.

Worst restaurant ever! They dont value your opinion as a customer. Ive tried this place like three times and its just the worst customer service. The girl at the counter pay no attention to any complaints whatsoever. I guess its because you have to pay before being served. Not worth it! Go to a place where they value you as a customer or it just might be because Im black. Stay Away from this restaurant!

I have been dinning at the Hometown Chinese Restaurant when the restaurant was in Lake Blvd, Davis. Steve is an excellent chef. The restaurant serves the best tasty and wholesome food in Davis. if you are in Davis, you have to try out the Hometown Chinese Restaurant.

Food was OK, but it took over an hour to come out and the place wasnt even that busy. I could have driven to one of the farms near Davis, caught a chicken, killed plucked and gutted it, made fresh noodles from scratch, and cooked a better meal with time to spare.

Food was ok but service was terrible. Took 40 minutes to receive our basic food order and no concern or apology from the staff. They werent even busy. The way they took and fulfilled orders is chaos. Will not return or recommend.

This is probably the best Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant in town. The owners are very friendly. The menu has options for both the adventurous and the prudent. Definitely try their fried pork chop with rice and the pearl tea.

I felt like the food was too oily and greasy (i got a vegetable and meat dish). Prices were just okay. The place is a bit too dark for my liking and seems more like a dingy fast food Chinese restaurant.

The restaurant is closed, permanently. Went there yesterday and had pork bowl for the first time, didnt realize that was the last time dining in this place. Itll be replaced by a little hotpot place.

Taste good. Wait an hour for 1 noodle soup during dinner time. Charge 50cent per one transaction when using local Credit card . Charge 25 - 50¢ for order to go.

Nice decor, mediocre food, slow service. Compared to other Chinese restaurants in Davis, it doesnt quite stand out. At least the atmosphere is nice.

作为快餐味道还是可以的,但是价格偏 Tasty noodles with average price. They are fast food restaurants, so they dont have any waiter. It saves you tips

The food tastes great but there is only one person cooking so you may have to wait up to an hour during their busy hours.

Amazing food with so much flavor. I would recommend! The garlic chicken with rice was the perfect amount of spicy.

Hometown Chinese is at 125 E St, not at 1601 Research Park Drive. Steve is the best Chinese chef in Davis.
