My wife and I went to dinner at Lido on a Friday night and could not have been more disappointed. I really wanted to like this restaurant, as it is locally owned and operated, visually charming, clean and it serves throughout the day. Both the service and the food were poor. I ordered a beer, but the server returned to tell me it was one of several they don’t have, although they are printed on the menu. My wife asked for a different sauce on her order; the server returned to tell us it couldn’t be done. We were brought our appetizer without utensils or plates, we had to ask for those. Each of our entrees was made incorrectly, mine did not contain the meat I ordered and my wife’s was made so improperly that it had to be started over again. At no time were we offered anything to make up for the errors, and at no time did any manager, etc. visit our table. The server, upon presenting the bill, indicated that we hadn’t been charged for two small items, totaling $5, on a $50 bill. That was the extent of the apology for the poor meals. Ordinarily I would have asked for a manager, but we had guests and we were on a schedule, and needed to leave. I can get better food and equal or better service at dozens of walk-up or family style restaurants, we won’t be back to Lido.

WOW! Not too sure where some of these people were eating. First off, let me be completely honest, the first time my party ate at the NEW Lido café location, the service was NOT GOOD - and I expressed it to the owner, Shawna, (sidenote - the food was FANTASTIC). Shawnas response? Apologized sincerely and more than made it up to me and my party. And I was pleased to discover the server had been coached up and was providing excellent service to ALL patrons! I respect the server for digging deep and growing. I also respect Shawna for caring so much - would have been a lot easier for her to just terminate the server. Now, back to the food - YUM! Pick ANYTHING - eggs benedict, Marty Cristo, (their twisted version), grilled cheese, best damn chili cheese dog, juicy burgers - pick ANYTHING! Dont get me started on the dessert case! YES! Carmichael does have a wonderful, delicious, locally owned and operated café - LIDO CAFE! Dont miss out!

9/27/2014 Went for breakfast. Ordered eggs over medium, they were over easy, ordered a toasted English muffin, it was warm, NOT toasted at all, served with country potatoes, they were raw and there was nothing country about them, no onion, no bell pepper, just slices of raw potato. The bloody mary had great flavor, but doubt they put any vodka, so basically over-priced tomato juice with a celery stick, green bean and olive. My husband had ham and eggs, the ham seemed like packaged shaved ham. Nothing like the old location, which we used to go to frequently. Not worth $30 cost. Wont be going back to this new location. Sorry guys, but sometimes moving to a bigger location is not always better.

My husband have eaten at the Lido three times since it reopened in the new location. We loved the new ambience and experienced non of the negatives that these other reviewers have reflected. The service was a little slow, but it always has been. Thats because it was packed and our server was rushing around trying to make everybody happy. We didnt care -- it gave us more time to chat.Their Chile Verde and eggs breakfast was awesome and the hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict is one of the best in town. My Bloody Mary was powerful and delicious, as it should be. I always think of the Lido when I think of brunch.

Full bar at a neighborhood breakfast and lunch joint - yes please! This local gem deserves all five stars because it serves up great breakfast and lunch dishes that are diner style with a more flavorful twist. Ive never had a bad meal here, and the service is ALWAYS friendly and prompt. They dont flinch at special requests either. Order a bloody mary with their signature breakfast sandwich for a great start to your day!

Clean place, fresh food, great staff, lovely owner, best tres leche i have ever had, love the eggs benidict, great carrot cake, great berry pie,great ice cream, pure water, great coffee, tortellini is good and plenty, great key lime pie, great live jazz/mood music every time, good fried chicken,good mocha latte, full bar, thank you staff you are good technicians, so quick and thoughful and accommodating. My mom has been taking my brother and I here for breakfast for years now! They always treat us remarkably and my grandma too,shes a little sea Nile lol..but we have always received great service and the food is always amazing!My mom is a server/student and working in the industry makes her so picky about where we dine ...Lidos I can say is always on the top of her lists !!!!Sweet pototoe pancakes Yum!!!!

Carmichael desperately needs a good cafe, but this is not it. Inconsistent in both service and quality. And for all you big tippers out there, Shawna keeps the tips those kids work so hard to earn. She can legally do this by serving the occasional order. Ive lived in this community for twenty years and will eat at Dennys before stepping foot in Lidos. It deserves no stars.

This is one of my favorite places to go! Shawna (the owner) is very friendly and treats you like family. The food and service here is excellent and the new location gives Shawna the room to display all her baked goods which is something she has always wanted to do. I cannot say enough good things about this place!

Friendly place! Patrons and staff. Had a weekday lunch, Pastrami Ruben and a Monte Cristo. ..The Pastrami was good, the Monte, just okay. Price was fine. The Monte was their take on the classic sandwich, thus just okay.A side of Chili was excellent! Beer was cold too! We will be back.

They hate and will charge you for extra plate if you plan to share a meal, dont try to get the manager involved cause she was the one who told us next time I will charge you for extra plate. I dont eat a lot so this was my first and last time there she was rude as well

Only been here once which happened to be labor day morning, place was very busy which was expected however the staff was very attentive and vocal about wait times and if we needed anything while waiting. Food was good and price was right, all in all well worth the visit.

Usually have great food and great service but my boyfriend was visiting on vacation but they wouldnt serve us alcohol because we dont have California IDs. It makes no sense, and its bad for business. I used to love eating here but I think Ill eat elsewhere.
