Went into Boulevard to get something to eat and drink. I walked back to the bathroom and the door was locked. The sign read it is a "pay to play" deal to use the bathroom- okay fine. There was language stating the key was on the "bean counter" and when i went back to the counter and asked the guy (turned out to be the owner), he lectured me about reading the sign and that it was for customers buying something. I informed him that i planned to buy something, but had to use the bathroom first. His demeanor, tone...was very condescending and flat out rude beyond belief. Under his breath he said "dont bother me." Really? Came back from the restroom and asked the two gals what the deal with this guy was. They defended him. I said that ive never been treated like this. They said "there is the door and leave." When i was walking out the owner reemerged and starting yelling at me while following me into the parking lot. Told him i planned to order food and a drink and had no understanding of why he was treating me like this. He literally was screaming at me in the parking lot demanding that i pay for use of the restroom. I came back two hours later after going to the ATM and paid him for the restroom which his wife yelled at me again. These people are nuts. Maybe there is a new psychological condition to be classified- prickitis! Go somewhere else where you wont literally be threatened with harassment for using the bathroom before ordering. Wow, what an experience.

I was looking for a good coffee place - in from out of town, visiting my mom in the hospital so trying to get an early start. Walked up to Boulevard Bistro at 6:34 AM, they open at 6:30...was rudely greeted in the doorway by a tall older gentleman with a grey mustache who told me to give him a moment...I laughed thinking he was being silly, but quickly realized he wanted me to move out of his way because he was bringing patio furniture out. I did as I was instructed and then stepped inside to look at the menu - but then I was shooed out of the restaurant & told they would wait on me in a minute. I simply turned around and left. With customer service like this - it doesnt matter how good your product is - I will never know. Nobody deserves to be treated rudely, certainly not someone whos about to try and give you business. I only give one star because no stars is not an option.

I usually judge a coffee shop by how well they make basic espresso drinks. Usually I start with latte. Today I stopped for the first time at Boleavard Coffee. What I got from this place was absolutelly awful. There was at least 5 things wrong with my latte. Awfull burned taste. Milk bubbles instead of fine froth. Scalding hot milk and drink itself. Even though it tasted burned it had almost no coffee taste. Horrible aftertaste. This was a parody on what suppose to be a great drink. I do not like Sturbucks version of latte because of dark espresso beans, but this was much worse. I ended up just tossing the full cup into garbage. I want my money back!

Great coffee and friendly staff! I was looking for some local roasted espresso and decaf espresso for my machine at home. Both have a fantastic flavor and pull well, dark and earthy without being too bitter, nice and oily. The prices are fair. The staff there were very knowledgeable and helped me find the roast I was looking for, and of course had some drinks there. My sisters hot chocolate was on point, as was her banana bread. The gentleman there loved our dog and told us about a nice spot to sit outside and enjoy. Would definitely recommend and come back!

Really good coffee! Friendly baristas and warm atmosphere. My drink not only tasted very good, but looked kind of fancy, which was delightfully. Met a friend here for a long chat and had a lovely time - never felt intruded upon by the employees. Bathroom was pretty clean and well stocked as well. My only complaint is that I wish there was more seating, as it was very limited. I dont see how it would be possible given the size of the building, though.

I have been going to Boulevard Coffee Roasting Company over 20 years for the best coffee I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. A good cup of coffee is important to my day, so no matter where I am I look carefully for the best coffee roasters around. And I do travel a lot. My experience here was like being in the twilight zone. Without giving too much detail, Saturday afternoon, my daughter and I went there for 4 coffees. I dont know who owns this establishment but if its the two tall men, one young and one older that do....shame on both of you.Your customer service skills were non existent. And to the older one who insisted 3 times that I put the coffees in a holder....maybe its time to retire.

Before I started working here I at 27 I was snot nosed 13 yo getting hot chocolate from Cliff. Throughout the years I became close friends with some of the staff as well, great-warm-friendly people. The quality of the entire experience is what they strive for and it shows. I have lived up and down the west coast and I still stand by the fact that they have THE best coffee anywhere!

If you are the type of person who thinks there should be a drive thru for everything and a Starbucks on every corner, avoid Boulevard. I dont want you ruining it. If you crave ambiance, great coffee and knowledgeable barristers and barristas, then I cannot recommend it enough. Boulevard Coffee is what every coffee shop should be.

Whoa! A friend just started taking me here and I have to say this coffee is amazing!!! Like really good! The clerks are really hip as well. I feel bad because Im usually grumpy when I order my coffee but afterwards my mood completely changes to pure bliss and happiness. Im going to start buying beans from here bud!!

Nice atmosphere, good seating, friendly but not cloying baristas, great tea selection (I do tea, the huz does coffee). I like that they hand brew each cup of iced tea instead of mass producing a concentrate that sits around getting bitter. My huz enjoyed his mexican latte thing. Only con is that they arent open later.

Great service and AMAZING coffee! Shout out to Mike the barista for helping us decide on what we wanted. Super friendly service and great ambience. I usually judge places by their vanilla latte and when I was served my drink, I was pleasantly surprised :)

I recently moved to Carmichael and discovered this quaint coffee shop.They carry some of the best tasting coffee I have ever tried.The coffee beans are roasted fresh daily!Its difficult for me to drink Starbucks after having coffee from Boulevard.

Ive been going there for @least 17yrs. The baked goods are fresh &priced surprisingly low.The staff is always pleasant and its one of the few coffee houses that the staff is genuine in their smilingly attitude,no matter what.
