My rating for Notorious Burger would have been much higher save for the lousy service. We sat at the bar and it was not a great experience for us. The bartender even commented to a friend of hers that it was a very slow night. It would have been easy for her to provide better service. She even managed to order me the wrong burger after confirming my order with me at the POS. I am not sure how that happened. The rest of my party was done eating by the time my corrected order came out. The food, on the other hand was good. We started with the ample sample. The brussel sprouts are to die for. I know, kung pao brussel sprouts sound odd, but it just works. They are cooked to perfection. The fried pickles are also good. I was worried about the garbanzo crust, but it was pretty tasty. The curds were also very good. The onion rings were average, nothing to write home about. I got a Capone burger. It was everything I expected from the description. The egg and avocado combination was actually very good. The burger sounded a little more spicy than it was. It had just a little kick and the heat married well with the flavor. Dont waste your time on the side salad. It was nothing special. We also ordered fries and they were pretty good. They had a wide selection of beer. You can easily find something that is going to be very close to your favorite beer. I didnt spend much time on the wine list. They do not have hard alcohol though. Be advised of that before going in.

This place is a credit to La Costa. The quinoa-bean burger is excellent, and they have a slick checklist for customizing your burger with a plethora of sauces, onions, peppers, cheeses, & buns--there are so many choices, its hard not to go overboard with a bunch of conflicting flavors your first time. And they have a great selection of local brews too (dozens of taps.) Im an insufferable beer snob, but was still able to find several here that I like. On May 14th, I was exhausted, starving & loopy after standing on flare-up watch for 9 hours up on the hill adjacent to Poinsettia & El Camino. No place was open (they were all evacuated, due to the Poinsettia Fire), but Brian, Notorious owner, was inside, checking up on his restaurant. They werent open, but Brian invited me in and made me a burger and poured me a couple beers anyway. He started Notorious Burger after working in restaurants all over San Diego County, and he clearly puts a lot of care into the menu and into the quality of the dishes. Just went in again last night and he was working in the kitchen. Being a vegetarian, it never occurred to me to try a burger place, but Im glad I found this gem, and Im looking forward to trying other sauces & cheeses on my next burgers there. Its a comfortable spot, a serene environment, and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy it there too. If I were an orangutan, I would use my feet to give Notorious FOUR enthusiastic thumbs up.

Had the Capone burger, fries, and Chappys Choco! It was really, really good. Expensive, but 100% worth it. Service was a little slow, but everyone was perfectly nice. Casual atmosphere, not too loud, but I came in when there wasnt a big crowd. Most of their entrees have recommendations for beer or wine to pair with it, which is brilliant. Only four stars for two reasons: 1. I had to seat myself at the bar because no one came to seat me at a table even though it asks you to wait for assistance for table seating. 2. They want you to have a salad or coleslaw with your burger. Weird.

Wow. These guys did a fabulous job tonight. Yummy bison and lamb burgers, great Brussel sprouts appetizers, and flights of interesting beers. Our dinner got a little expensive, but we ordered a lot. We 3 diners had $10-14 burgers that come with coleslaw, along with bang bang Brussel sprouts, soft pretzels, and sweet and Smokey fries. We also had two flights of taster beers. That opulent meal was $90, and well worth it. I didnt see anything for vegetarians, the only true drawback. Their beer selection was amazing. I cant wait to go back.

Good food and great beer selection. I had the Big Papa Bacon Burger, which was egregiously tall due to the onion rings inside. If I order this burger again, I would ask for it without the sauce that really overpowers the flavor. Unfortunately, the burgers come with slaw or a salad instead of fries, however the house salad was surprisingly good. Eating here can easily get expensive very quickly since you have to purchase the fries separately, plus any beers you order.

overpriced for only a decent custom burger. They made my burger wrong twice. This after you fill out a sushi-like worksheet with exactly what you want. Almost gave two stars but everything was acceptable. I dont understand all these five star reviews. I would go to smashburger or five guys for half the price; $30 for a burger, fries and a beer. Id gladly pay $50 for the best burger in town but this is on the level of In n Out.

I was in town for business and randomly stopped in to Notorious Burger on a whim. I am thankful I did. I ordered the Brussels sprout appetizer and the quinoa burger. Both were really great! You could tell they used quality ingredients and take the time to make the best product possible. They have a great selection of burgers and draft beers so there is something for everyone on the menu at a reasonable price.

Really Aviera? Dont you just get tired of Sushi? And when is Greek food fast food? Oh... bad piano music with Spaghetti and Tomato sauce...olive oil, vinegar and hard bread? Why go out if thats all there is? Dont you really just want a delicious custom Hamburger (one like you would make at home) and a craft beer!? Well look no further then Plaza Paseo Real my friend for a Notorious Burger!

This is just a quick recap of the place before a movie Friday night with a friend. Cosa Nostro Ceprese Burger ~ Grass-fed beef, buffalo mozzarella, local tomato, basil pesto. Really good burger with very fresh ingredients and cooked as asked medium rare. The fries were good too. I want to go back and try the bacon wrapped chicken wings.

We ordered burgers from Notorious last night and they were terrific. There were four of us and each of us LOVED our burgers. Two of us had lamb burgers, one beef and one grilled chicken all with variety of toppings (we built our own). The only thing is they were too big to eat in one sitting. Cant wait to go back and try others.

Great burgers. I had the Lil papa, good and nicely cooked medium as requested. Also had the crazy fries, those are delicious. My friend order Capone burger, I preferred that one more as it had a lot more going on versus just bbq sauce on Lil papa burger.

The food is good, unfortunately I cant say the same about the service. The waitresses seemed very slow and definitely not on their game. Wont be coming back due to service, I suggest you save yourself some time and look for a quality burger elsewhere.
