The Real Mike
Ordered take-out from La Puerta and the food was really good. La Puerta is located in a strip mall thats not too far from the 57 freeway. Even though the restaurant was moderately busy, service was friendly and the wait for my food was reasonable. The atmosphere is bare bones but comfortable. Chicken Mole Poblano ($10.99): The chicken mole poblano dish came with a side of rice and beans, and a tiny salad as garnish. The chicken was super moist and tender. The chicken could be cut into smaller pieces with a fork. The mole had good chili and spice flavor without being too hot. I really enjoyed the dish especially with their corn tortillas. The rice and beans were standard and not memorable. Two corn tortillas (included with the mole): The corn tortillas were unique, fresh, and didnt fall apart. They were soft, fluffy, and not mealy. I only wish they gave me more than two tortillas with the chicken mole!

Came in on busy Taco Tuesday during lunch hour. Took 20 mins to get greeted. Told her I only had another 20 mins so I ordered and waited 30 more mins. Table next to us ordered about 3 mins after us. They got their food first and I had to go back to work so I got up and left without receiving my food. Love the tacos and understand that they were super busy but not sure I would come back. At least not during Taco Tuesday

OMG. Im not lying. This place has the best Chili Verde Ive ever eating. The wet burrito is also a hit with my ex wife. Never had the tacos or anything else. When I like something, I dont stray away. If you dont know what you want. Get a asada burrito with no beans and add rice and tomatoes. Hot sauce on the side. Wash it down with Mexican flan.

Always great food and service - Chili-Verde best I have ever had and the soups are always huge portions and delicious. We love the staff and have followed them from a previous restaurant. The name of this place is the same - but the new owners have changed it all! My go-to place for Mexican food. Margarita and Diana - you are the best!

Nice well lit spot with awesome customer service. Although its a sit down service restaurant the ambience is casual and laid back. Prices are reasonable for North OC and the food is not too shabby either. The pastor burrito is on point and hits the spot. Free chips and as well which is a nice touch.

Excellent food, wonderful service and good pricing. I had the chile relleno and enchilada combo. Do get the green sauce for the enchilada because it was very good. So much food that I didnt have room for the dessert. I also see many Latinos here....so it must be good and authentic.

Must say the customer service really made it 5 stars. Its fresh Mexican food, with freshly made corn tortillas. I had the chicken fajitas and it was really good. My wife had the chili Verde and it was spot on but a bit spicy. The chips and salsa were really good. Try them out!

Wonderful staff, great tacos. We never miss Taco Tuesday and they always remember our order, down to which tacos get salsa and guacamole on the side and which ones are fully loaded. Their soups are out of this world delicious and plentiful.

One of the most "authentic" Mexican restaurants you can visit (for Southern California). Soups are authentic and awesome. Just need to double check your take out because sometimes little side items are left out. Nothing major.
