Get there early for weekend brunch. The line starts about 30 min before open and doesnt let up for an hour or so. I personally love their Hollandaise, its not too rich or under seasoned. My favorite dish however is the turkey pesto omelette. Great service for the most part and stunning brunch plates. Ive been a regular (once a month for years) brunch patron and highly recommend to any and everyone. I miss the outdoor seating of the old Auburn location but the menu is even better in the new location.

Im visiting Auburn to see some friends and they recommended this place because they have great breakfast and lunch. Needless to say I was not disappointed!! The service was great, restaurant was clean, waitresses very nice, and best of all the portions were fantastic! I had the Monte Christo French Toast (if I remember the name correctly) and it was absolutely delicious and incredibly filling! Would definitely come back and try more food!

This place sure lives up to its name of "Awful Annies". The coffee is terrible!! Probably the worst coffee I have every tasted. The food wasnt too warm for having to wait a long time to get my meal. The potatoes were awful. They were drenched in butter. Extremely salty food. I felt sick after eating here. The ambiance was nice, and the restaurant was nicely decorated.

Lifesaver for our daughter who has Celiac. We recently visited Auburn during our spring break vacation and we had breakfast here all three mornings. Our daughter was so happy she could get a GF waffle. We adults were very pleased with the variety of dishes on the menu and tried something new each day. The lox omelette is fantastic. Thanks, Elsa & Francis, Bend Oregon

We have enjoyed both the old and new locations. We drive to Reno frequently and try to schedule our trips so we can stop at Awful Annies both coming and going! We have never been disappointed. Everyone is friendly, always smiling....even when seriously busy. Love the food...love-love the cinnamon bread french toast. We will see you tomorrow. Fran & Wally Holmes

Had the bloody mary... and a meal in itself... and the fish tacos. Husband had the third pound sirloin burger and fries. EVERYTHING was delish!!! If youve got food allergies, make sure to order the side salad without nuts or sunflower seeds. I didnt make my allergy known so I cannot blame them for putting seeds on my salad. All in all, a great meal!!

Their food is awfully good, I guess its why its called Awful Annies. Its delicious and filling. This is a great place to eat breakfast any time of the day (before 3pm), with an assortment of choices to choose from. We eat here sometimes as a pit stop to Tahoe/Reno, or just to drive to have breakfast at 1pm.

Amazing food. Servers are always happy and cheerful. They make amazing bloody Marys and really good Mimosa. Food tastes like your grandmother is in the kitchen cooking for you. If you are driving up the 80 corridor you have to stop and try awful Annies.

This is the best restaurant, we drive from Sacramento to Auburn to eat there. The service, decor, food, drinks is full quality. Try their cinnamon bread French toast and have a hurricane for a cocktail. Oh, make room for some deep fried asparagus.

I really miss the ambiance of the old site in the old downtown. Sitting next to the creek they panned gold out of always made it more real. They did a great job of building a new restaurant and the food is still good.

The ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich fulfilled its eponymous name. Mouthwatering triple-paged menu with eccentric paintings aligning the walls and a festive ambience. Definitely would go again..anything but Awful :)

Great food & fantastic service! The place was packed & we only waited 15 minutes to get a seat. The server knew the menu & made several recommendations (which were all delicious!). We will definitely be back!

Formerly Lou LaBontes, this property became Awful Annies in October, 2015. On June 9, 2016, my wife and I enjoyed lunch at Awful Annies. Both our orders were superb: tasty, generous portions. Recommended.

Great food! I dont remember what I had (I was there 4 years ago) but Ill definitely be back. I do remember that parking was bad, but the root beer glass was in the shape of a boot and it tasted great too.

Why would you go anywhere else. The end all place to eat a good breakfast. IHOP and Dennys dont even come close to Awful Annies. Eat here or eat at home, but dont waste your time and money anywhere else.

One of our favorite places for a good, filling, hometown breakfast or lunch. Expect it to be crowded, so give yourself some time. Never had a bad meal here.

Awful Annies is great. No longer "historic" since they moved from old town. Can expect short wait. Very popular and well worth the experience.

I popped in for breakfast in March. The food was good, although it took a while to arrive. Not a place to go if you are in a hurry!
