Slow service, long waits, and bizarre seating arrangements all point the finger at poor management. We came here as a group of six for Sunday brunch since Yelp had rave reviews about the food here and the pictures looked enticing. We arrived and were told 45-minute wait, geez. We stuck it out and probably we waited for a solid 25 minutes and then were seated thankfully. Inside, the restaurant seats about half as many people as it could if a proper interior designer were hired and booths and partitions were installed. As it stands now, the interior is one big, open room with tables widely spaced in the center awkwardly and booths on the perimeter. [D] Our service was solid [F] as we waited for ages to put in our order. After ordering, our food did not come out for a long time - at least 20 minutes. But the food arrived bizarrely: two people were served their meals in 6-minute intervals. So by the time all six of us had our food, some were almost done eating. Really, what the hell. Then, once finished with plates cleared, no one ever came by with our check. Another 20 minutes passed before we had to stand up, find a server, and just handed them our credit cards. Absolutely terrible service. My food at least was very good, but not a level that would ever be able to make up for the experience. I ordered the pulled pork breakfast "burger" that had egg and tomatillo salsa. It was appetizingly named "Green Eggs and Ham." It was messy, but the pulled pork was actually very good at a level I would never expect: succulent, fatty, rich, wet. [A] So if you see a big line out the door, it isnt because the food is so good. Its because the management and servers are incompetent.

Wanted to try a new breakfast place that was in Anaheim, and found this place through Yelp. Our experience varied from the norm as we were a party of 8. Came here on Monday, after Christmas day, around 10:10 am. Put our name on the list and was told it would be around an hour wait, and they didnt lie. We decided to stay as none of us ever been here. Once seated, a waitress came to take our drink orders within 5 min. After she brought our drinks she took our order, and was very nice to us, very patient when a few people asked her questions about the food. From order to being served it was about 30 min as everything was made from scratch (pun intended). I ordered the country fried steak, as usual. That place came with two eggs, hash browns, and side toast. The country fried steak was good, the gravy was ok, but the fried steak was a bit over cooked. The hash browns, which I ordered extra crispy, were good as well, but didnt really have that great of a flavor, definitely needed to add some ketchup. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their place, thought it was good. One did order the chicken and waffles, and that fried chicken was very good. Over all, it was a good experience, I will go back, but not going to be my first choice of breakfast.

Hubby found this hidden gem in Anaheim of all places, but it was very good. The best time to come is 8, anytime after that and the wait is ridiculous. The servers were very nice and friendly, and the establishment is clean and spacious. The portion here is huge, I honestly think one meal served two. Is it strange to complain that they give toooo much food? Well, they do and you better come on an empty stomach or else you will be Togoing half of your food. The chicken and waffle was perfect! The steak fajitas was good, but the steak was a little too dry for my taste. Ill definitely be back to try other items on the menu and bring a long more friends to help devour the food.

I live 90 miles away from this place... The first time we visited Scratch was about 2 weeks ago... I fell in love. We had the Green eggs and ham and I wanted to die so I wouldnt have to live without that delicious flavor in my mouth. We went back yesterday because, well because its freaking delicious! We had the Picoso Burger and the Corned beef hash, which is made from scratch (obviously), so bomb! Really freaking fantastic. I love this place. Everything about it!

Everything is amazing here. Best breakfast place Ive ever been to by far. Ive tried just about everything on the breakfast menu and Ive got no complaints. The chicken and waffles, the hungry man, and the california benadict are my favorite things here and are certainly worth trying. Service is great and everyone is really friendly. It gets packed quick so get there early is you dont want to wait 30-60 minutes. Either way its worth the wait.

First time here food was great huge portions I ordered the chicken fried steak delicious. My husband ordered the hungry man that was a big portion the ham was probably about 1/2 thick and juicy. The banana bread was moist and warm when served with our coffee.c I highly recommend this place One more a little bit long wait on your food but well worth the wait.

Big portions, crappy service, mediocre tasting food. Food looks good though! Chef doesnt know how to cook an egg Sunnyside up. He gives it to you still clear and raw. Waitress was a B*tch. But loyal to chef. Owner said, "thanks for the heads up and your business. If you dont come back I understand." Wow really!? Yeah, not coming back.

The wait was kind of lengthy, but by the time we sat down and stared eating the time spent outside was far from our carnivoures minds. Our server Alexis was prompt and on the ball, the food was AMAZING. Portions were awesome, refills on point. This will be a frequent place for us when we visit Anaheim/buena park.

An unexpected oasis in the food desert of this part of town. Enjoyed a solid lunch with perfect service. Looking forward to stopping in for breakfast (which is their primary offering). So many great looking breakfast options. Watch this space for our return visit. I have a feeling the score will hit a 5 then.

A great breakfast find! If you get there after 10, be prepared for a little wait...but its worth it! Servers are attentive and food is fresh. I typically get the eggs and sausage links and that allows me breakfast for two days. Im not a huge fan of their biscuits since they are more bread-like.

Visited for a late breakfast. Service was great including accommodating a toddler. Food was excellent. Chicken fried steak is made from scratch, not frozen. Carnitas Benedict was the best item we had. Portions are huge. Order from kids menu for normal size portions! Recommended!

Fantastic food, super friendly staff, they took care of my family, toddler and all. Very kids friendly atmosphere; we had to wait for a high chair there were so many. Otherwise, a fantastic experience overall. I definitely recommend it; and I will return for more!

First visit, ordered waffles was served french toast. Second visit, waited the estimated 45 minutes plus the extra +/- 15 minutes and was told there were still groups waiting in front of us. During this time, at least 2 groups parked, walked in, and were seated.

We spent a week in Anaheim going place to place trying to find a place to write home about and this place was it! Generous servings and great price , a bit of a wait but totally expected for such great food! We would go back and recommend to others !
