My wife and I went here on our anniversary dinner. I made a reservation through open table. I had heard good reviews about the food at Benihana and we both love sushi - I thought it would be a good night out. We were about 10 minutes late, but I called the restaurant to let them know. The customer service is why I rate this low. I imagine the food is great. However, I do not believe it would have been any better than any other sushi steakhouse (Fuji, Sekisui, etc.). The lady that answered the phone was not necessarily rude, but seemed like she didnt care much about our reservation or who we were to look it up and verify things for us. We got to the restaurant and we were immediately taken to the hibachi side. (Note: We were a couple that walked in dressed pretty nice and obviously on a date) I would have at least enjoyed being asked if we wanted to be seated by ourselves or join in the hibachi fun. If I were asked, I would have explained that we had reservations AND under that reservation I wrote that this is supposed to be our anniversary dinner and we would prefer a table seated in a secluded area. I didnt wait long to go find the hostess. She barely sat us down and was far away from us. We actually didnt even sit down and turned around and she wasnt there. I asked if we could be seated somewhere a little more private and she just pointed around and said "sit anywhere you want." All Im saying is ... if youre going to have reservations through open table, at least try to abide by the reservation details. If not, then dont worry about reservations. If all I wanted was a hibachi grill with a bunch of random strangers then I would have just showed up and not bothered with the reservation. We ended up leaving. Not really because of the horrible service from the very beginning, but when we did sit at a table, there was a fish tank with a fish that had probably been dead for a couple of weeks at the bottom rotting away.

Me and my family went to Benihana for my Birthday. First i want to start with we were told a 25 min wait. We ended up waiting for an hour. As the Host walked very fast to our table and we walked slow since my grandmother has a walker and cant walk fast, the floors were super slippery and dirty. Straws and left over foods all the way around the table from previous guests. We got the 5 course meal, which includes the green tea. My mother ordered a tea, as she tried it she said it had no taste. Just water, and it looked like they put green food coloring in it to make it look green. So she asked the server to get her another one. The second one was a little better. The rest of the group had to ask the server if they get tea as well since its suppose to come with the meal. Years ago i came for my birthday and they actually put a chefs hat on me and took a picture of me and my boyfriend with a polaroid camera. I guess they dont do that anymore. The chef was not very talkative, we asked if he could do the volcano and he said no, no fire, and the only trick he did was make a heart out of the fried rice and said "hahaha benihana love you" and then made the onion volcano steam. Over all the food was very good which it should be paying so much, but service, cook and the host and cleanliness of the place was very disappointing.

For a party of three, we were not treated well. First, the hostes ignored us; we stood there for ten minutes waiting for her. Then, she took someone else who was behind us who did not have reservations. When my husband spoke up, I could see by the look on her face that she was not happy. We waited another ten minutes to be told we could sit in the bar (we had our child with us). She told us there was no room for a party of three, because we did not make a reservation. This was on a Sunday night, it was not very crowded. Sitting at the Hibachi grill, we had a hapless waiter who didnt know what to do, we had to ask for silverware after the food came, had to ask for parts of the meal he forgot (the green tea) and he brought the check without offering desert. It was the worst high end restaurant experience we ever had.

Attended a 30th surprise birthday party for my son in the party room. The room was nice enough but the service and the food was awful. Took forever to get servers to wait on us. Half the room was waited on the other half 30 minutes later. When we finally got or food it was cold!!!!! We could not get the server to wait on us so we served ourselves filling or drink glasses. It took almost 2 hours for everyone in the party to be served. We had to approach another server to get our tickets. On our tab was my husband and I. We received the ticket and it was $81.00. The server added a $12.00 gratuity to the tab. Which she did NOTHING to earn. That over priced COLD food was almost uneatable. We will NEVER go back!!! And it was my first time there. Foods better at their competition. NO MORE!!!

Like previous posts we were very disappointed with this restaurant. We were immediately rushed to the habachi side, where it took over a half hour for someone to even ask if we wanted a drink. Then it took another hour to receive the drinks at this point it was watered down. Over all it took us a minimum of 3 hours to get our food and get out. The manager did not pay any attention to anyone other than his regulars. Did not even make eye contact with those who were not, complaining wasnt even an option. As for the food it was dry and left more to be desired. I would never return. Anyone who Gave it more than 2 stars must be a regular or had a better than average experience. Half of our table got up and walked out before the food even came.

My family and I love to eat at Benihanas. The food is always delicious. The only problem I see is the take out fried rice does not taste the same as fried rice that is cooked before us. The take out fried rice is bland. The seasonings, and soy sauce is not cooked into the rice. I have ordered take out twice and the first time I called to voice my concern and practically got argued with. I have been to Benihanas atleast 20 or more times and I am aware of how the fried rice is suppose to taste. I recently tried take out again and in hopes that it would be better, needless to say it was not. So I recommend Beninhanas, but if you are looking for your take out to taste like your sit in meal..I am sorry to disappoint you.

Although it was my first time, It was embarrassing when I went there with my friend giving him all the hype about it.Although I had showed them a copy of my indian passport I didnt get my birthday discount as I did not have any ID. seriously?? Thats my PASSPORT, what else do u want to confirm my birthday dumbos!?! I thought my 55$ would be worth atleast by watching the cook showing some skills. Unfortunately that also didnt happen. I ordered a benihana mixed seafood. The cook had no skills at all. He just made the food. However, I liked the fried rice.
