I left a Steakhouse in Maumelle because of the crowd to come to Sekisui. My fiancée had never been to a Hibachi and i wanted to take her on an enjoyable night out. No line to get in on a Friday night, no wait, seated at grill immediatly, thought that was a good thing, initially. Whole experience was a total disappointment. Chef soft spoken, no enthusiasm for the art, didnt even try to entertain, it was as if he was just cooking in the back. Felt nickle and dimed paying extra for fried rice, seems this is just standard at other Hibachis. Where was the Shrimp Appetizer? Salad was swimming in Dressing. $70 with tip for two people to be so underwhelmed with the experience and the food. I had to walk out apologizing to her for me making such a bad choice for the night.

Ive been going here for at least 3 years. The sevice was great and the chefs were very friendly and loved to make jokes. We went several times a month. It was a family friendly enviorment. Fairly recently it went under new managment and all the chefs we knew were gone. There was really no problem with it except a few of the new chefs were inexperienced. I didnt feel to safe eating the food because I was afraid it wasnt cooked long enough and I didnt want to get sick. The new chefs arent very talkative and look like they are misirable which dims the mood down quite a lot. The quality of the food was fine and tasted exactly the same as before even though they changed the menu. Overall the food and service was good but the staff was a bit unenthusiastic.

THE WORST experience I have had with a restaurant.. Paid $50 for 2 hibachi chicken dinners to go and did not receive salad or soup that comes with it, and the portion was the size of their lunch version. Called and was told it was completed correctly and that they would do nothing to fix this. I called 5 times over the course of 2 weeks and didnt get in touch with a manger until the 5th call. No one bothered to apologize or correct the issue. VERY RUDE and I am PISSED. Will never ever go back. This is currently in the hands of the better business bureau now. YOU RUINED MY EXPERIENCE AND I WAS loyal repeat customer, repeat WAS. AWFUL AWFUL customer service you should be ashamed as a business.

I made the stupid mistake of having sushi for the first time at Sekisui when I was 18. It tasted disgusting, so I never ate sushi again until I was encouraged to by friends five years later. To my surprise, sushi made correctly is actually delicious! I have eaten sushi in several different states and several locations in Arkansas since then, and they were all delicious. Ive come to the conclusion that Sekisui was just sadly incapable of making sushi correctly. Its pretty bad when you remember horrible tasting food from almost a decade ago. Maybe they have changed, but I know where to get good sushi now, so Im definitely never going back.

I was eating at this establishment very frequently. Ordered to go on today and I only received 1 piece of broccoli and carrot for my vegetables. When I took it back to show the employee she takes my plate to the back and they literally put 1 piece of zucchini n 1 piece of carrot on my plate. I mean it wasnt a good serving size to begin with. The fact that when she came back with the plate she didnt even try to make sure I was pleased. Im not usually a complainer but come on now. I wasnt rude or anything. I just wanted my moneys worth especially since I am frequent customer. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!!

I went to Sekisui with some good friends of mine while I was visiting Arkansas. The food was absolutely exquisite and I really loved the atmosphere. They played nice jazz, which was relaxing and enjoyable. Its laid back enough, though, that our small group of friends could unwind and be ourselves. Our hibachi chef was funny and talented, and of course, put on a great meal. I had the NY Strip Hibachi with Noodles and it was really fantastic ... I savored every bite. It was really a fun night out. I think this place would be fantastic for double dates, and heck--even single dates. Or just for yourself.

Sekisui is quite possibly my favorite Asian restaurant in Arkansas, it has an excellent staff including the owners who are very kind and are excellent hosts while the food their is terrific. The cuisine is very extensive which has everything from exotic sushi to steaks and shrimp to cater for everyone. I have been going there since I was a child and I believe that this is one of the best restaurants in the region if not the state. Id recommend everyone to try it as the service is great and the food is even better.

Went here with some friends for a birthday party. The food good but they were out of quite a few items while I was there. (They were out of white steamed rice). I think its crazy to run out of such a staple item. I can understand chicken, beef or even certain veggies, but rice? Anyhow...they made up for this by offering a larger portion of the rest of the meal for free, so it made up for it. Overall a great place to eat.

This was my all time favorite place to dine. Since the new change in ownership and management it has been ruined. They have changed the menu, chefs, and my lord, they changed the sauces. Why!? I will never eat here again after over 10 years of being a weekly to biweekly customer. This is so sad. Thats just business though right. Pity

I come here often, have sushi - Ive had sushi from all over the place too, on both coasts and multiple cities, and I find their sushi to be very high quality - as well as everyone that Ive taken with me (including people that have traveled to Japan). I like the atmosphere and the folks treat me like family. My highest recommendation

Took a friend here for her first hibachi experience, and were disappointed that there was no show. Sure, its demeaning to make all of those stereotype jokes all day long, and Im sure making onion volcanos gets old after a while, but dammit, thats why we paid extra to eat at a hibachi place.

First visit at lunch today and I was really impressed. We sat at the Express Hibachi and our meal was ready to eat in under 10 minutes. Food is very good. The friendly staff made us feel welcome and special -- felt like we were friends. My first visit wont be my last! Deeeelicious!

I am so disappointed by the new change in management. The sauces, ginger dressing and fried rice recipes have all changed. They are truly horrible! I will sadly not be returning to a place I have loved for over a decade. Dont waste your time. The food is terrible now.
