I am new to the area and looking for a neighborhood bar, either to just hang out or to go watch sporting events out. Anything that is less than a $10 Uber ride is what I was looking for. As soon as I got to the bar I was immediately greeted and made me feel like I had been there a dozen times. The wait staff was extremely attentive, specifically the young lady (I wish I remembered her name). It was last Thursday night during football and she was working the bar area). As far as the food goes the mushrooms and fries were on point. It really tasted like they use a homemade batter for the fried mushrooms. The fries were made from fresh potatoes and tasted like they cut the potatoes in the back, fried them, and then put them on my plate - SO GOOD. Last but not least, the wings werent my favorite. It tasted like they double fried them with the sauce on them. they werent terrible but just not my favorite. To put this all into perspective, I went there during happy hour and all my food (appetizers) was on happy hour, I think I spent $10 on 15 wings, fries, and mushrooms. In terms of the neighborhood bar, I will definitely be back, I want that neighborhood feel, and Throwbacks definitely has the potential!

Ive been coming to this place for almost a year now and I cant get enough of it. The people are amazing, the staff is super friendly, karaoke nights on Thursday and Friday are the most fun youll have at karaoke, the owner John actually personally sits and chats with his customers, they have the best bartenders in town, and chef Mikes food creations are the best in Tucson. Ive never felt so welcome in an establishment as I do at Throwbacks and this is why theyve had my business for almost a year. They make you feel like family. I tell everyone I can to stop by and give it a try, and most of them have continued to come back regularly. Theres no place like this in Tucson.

Im not typically a fan of sport bars, but I quite enjoyed Throwbacks. I ordered a turkey sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size (I was easily able to make two meals out of it), as well as the overall quality of the meal. The fact that it was below $10 the icing on the cake. The menu also has some interesting twists on standard items that made the menu different from standard (burgers, hot dogs, etc). The one downside is that service was mediocre, but for what it is as a sports bar, its fine. If you want a good sports bar with good quality and some interesting food options, Throwbacks is the place to go!

Best burger in town! At least by my standards. I usually end up making my own based off there basic cheese burger, but the bacon is fantastic, and the beef is spot on. I would like to think that throwbacks is kind of that hidden gem in Tucson. I have never had a bad meal from this place, and if you sit at the bar, the staff is very inter-personable. For some reason the staffing here is always light, so if youre in a booth dont be surprised if your empty glass goes un-noticed. However, I have put that behind me because the food is just to darn good! We will definitely be back!

Dont want to give 3 stars just for the Sonoran Dog they had but the beer was cold and a decent price. Id rather review this place more thoroughly when I get something like a burger which Ive heard that they are good at. This is the first Sonoran Dog I have ever tried but I think I remember the hot dog being wrapped in bacon. Their version just had a hot dog with a strip of bacon and some beans and sauces in the bun. The hot dog tasted like an Oscar Mayer store bought. Service was great and the cold beer helped wash it down.

Great food, great service. Every Tuesday night is Charity Poker Night at 7pm and 9:20pm. Players play for FREE, and everyone has a great time. The game is No Limit Texas Hold Em. The winner qualifies for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas, includes airfare and hotel stay. A percentage of all sales from registered poker players is donated to local Tucson Charities. Its a wondeful place to spend your Tuesday evenings, while supporting a great cause as well

When I think of Throwbacks the word that comes to mind is community. When I first walked through the door the bartenders and servers inmediatly made me feel like I was family there. The patrons that frequent the bar are all of the friendly variety, and I have come to count some of them as my closest friends. The drinks are all made exquisitely, and the food is unique and tasty. I will recommend this place to locals and visitors alike.

So went to this place...Barkeep was cool as hell, took care of me very well..Got 2 Lg. Blue moon and a Portabella burger that was...supposed to be med rare!!! Tab was $23 left $10 tip...And the cook kept looking at me..for some reason!!! Called the business back after 30 mins of getting home...and their voicemail isnt set up to take messages...This cook is going to get people very sick!!! It will now be on my facebook page...

I know this is a Tucson staple and its been renovated. Its close by and has a fairly good menu. I like it. The service is good, the food is good, no complaints about the bar menu. However, they dont have the NHL network so it wont be the place I will be going to watch hockey, all in all its one of the better bars I have been to in this city.

It was dead when I stopped in, and I was lucky enough to be poured a drink in a timely manner. Besides that everyone seemed to be busy prepping and not really paying attention to persons already in the establishment. Do the employees wait for Happy Hour before they start smiling? I probably wont find out.

Its opening night of the NFL season, so we expected it to be busy. However, we were forgotten about so much we actually had to borrow condiments from a neighboring table, and hunt down our waitress for the tab. Food was good, no complaints with the actual quality. Maybe try again on a non-busy day.

This bar is Great!! True diamond in the Ruff.. The food is amazing at a great price, half pound burger and fries for $7, great happy hour specials as well. The staff is friendly and accommodating, saw a large group in the back with a big ass projection TV playing the game.

Bad service , the staf attending , not good service, my friend order a nachos , it takes more of 25 minutes , on mud time other guy sits at the bar and order way after my friend same nachos and he gets them right away, on my friend the order never came

The mix drinks at the bar are amazing!! Plus the Hamburger with the mac & cheese was super Good!! Very cool place to hang out with friends!! Me and some friends went over for a few drinks and food and we had an awesome time!!

I used to like it here, but the bartender Tues. night 4/7/15, assured me I will never go back. He was rude disrespectful and completly not someone promoting customer service. I will never spend another dollar there!!!!
