The irony is that I have been a patron of this establishment, both restaraunt and bar for well over 5 years. I have easily spent thousands of dollars here over this period of time. Late last Friday evening, I had just flown back into town and stopped ther to meet a group of friends who also frequent this place. As I approached the door, I was greeted by a young man who appeared to be nothing but a busboy. The manager had told him that I was told that I was not allowed in. There was no reason given. I was not under the influence of anything. I have MS and I rarely drink, nor do I use drugs. I was dressed in a sport coat and jeans. Theyll let people in there with dirty t-shirts and flip flops. I was dumbfounded and asked why? No reasonable answer was given, but I was not openly angry and remained calm. I will not drop my name, but I come from an influential and pioneering Tucson family. That was their big mistake. I will be talking loud and openly. I hope that this review and my word of mouth will be enough for "North" to change their recently introduced elitist and discriminating policies.

Best service & Best food in Tucson AZ!! Not only do they have amazing food like the grilled artichoke & tortellini, but the staff goes above and beyond! The managers have even brought over food (chips from Blanco & crayons) from another restaurant to our table to satisfy my kids.. Ive tried the North in Austin & in Scottsdale and personally I think the one in Tucson is by far the best! Its a beautiful restaurant (-high five w/the renovation) w/a beautiful view and patio & I love the sangria! Only critiques I have are the sinks in the bathrooms...the water is a little too hot and I wish they would serve more of the asparagus soup & maybe change up the butter with the bread (add some salt, garlic & chives to it). The other locations have a sun dried tomato which is so so.. Vivace is another great restaurant we go to & they are known for their pesto, but their bread is no where near as good as Norths! Lastly, a big thanks to Vito one of the managers who rushed our food the other day so I could make it to the airport!

I visited North during their Happy Hour (all day on Sunday, 3-6pm other days) and had a beer, pizza, and the tomato bruschetta appetizer. The bruschetta was delivered by the manager I think and I almost gave this review 5 stars just because he pronounced it "brusketta" (the correct, Italian way). It was delicious, the cheese was gooey, tomato and basil were fresh. However, even during HH it was $5 for four bite-sized pieces, not outrageous but a little high I think. I ordered their margherita pizza which very good. The cheese was a little disappointing as it had the consistency and taste of a bland, fast-food pizza. However, the crust was AMAZING. One of my favorite pizza crusts that Ive had, airy, crispy on the outside, and very flavorful. So to sum up, pros: great atmosphere and location, pizza crust, people who apparently know what theyre doing; cons: price, cheese on pizza.

It was a very nice experience when I took my fiancee on our special date here. The hostess was very nice. Had no problem getting a table (had made previous reservations) The young lady that waited us was very pleasant, not too overbearing, and also knew the menu! She was able to quickly answer all the questions that we had about the food. It appeared the crew was well organized, no fighting no arguing (at least not in front of the guests). There wasnt a TON of people there but it got busy at around 6pm and we left around 615PM. We ordered the Pig Pizza. I was greasy but really well made, and tasted good. We even saw the cook in the background flipping the dough around. The dessert was also good. Even the manager came to talk with us which was really nice considering how busy he was. It was an overall a very good experience and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Over-rated restaurant in the foothills. The service was slow, atmosphere very noisy. I was meeting some friends that I hadnt seen in a long time and conversation was not that easy because of the noise. I felt that our server overlooked small things - like having sugar and a spoon at our table (for the coffee that was brought to us), we asked for these things & took forever. I spent $11 on a salad that was drenched in vinegar -- just not what I had expected, took half of it home and then decided I didnt like it at the restaurant Im not likely to eat it at home -- so I tossed it. Snobby feel to the place, and marginal service for an expensive price...I work too hard for my money. I am not likely to return to this restaurant.

I have just returned home from NoRTH, and i have to say i had a good time. The service was less than average and i sat and stared at a desert for nearly 5 minutes waiting for the server to bring some forks... but overall the food was awesome, the atmosphere was electric and everyone was having a good time. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a nice meal... i would warn them about the lousy service ahead of time though so that they werent dissappointed by it when they got it. I also want to say that if the management staff doesnt fix the problem they have with service, no amount of cool views and trendy people will be able to save this little bistro. good luck to them.

For the money, this place isnt worth it. And Im not a cheap person. What Im saying is, the food is not "amazing" and is not equal in value to the price that they charge. Now, Im not saying that the food is bad either, so dont be confused about that. Its good food, but its good, and not extraordinary. The location is good, and the ambiance is also good, with some firepits outside and outdoor seating areas covered by an atrium canopy. Im still giving it 4 stars because the staff is great, and I like the vibe.

We were in town on spring break and someone recommended this place. The food was amazing, but we did have to wait even though we had reservations. We did feel a little under dressed as most the other patrons were dressed up. Waitress was super accommodating as my kids can be difficult and she had several tables but she always checked on us as she walked by. The fresh bread and hand made in house noodles were delicious and we will definitely be back next time were in town.

The worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. We went there for my birthday, and it took them one and a half hours before the food came out. Some of the drink orders had been forgotten, the food was average, and the prices were raised much to high. After dinner, we didnt tip followed by a complaint by an employee which led to the manager having to come out. Overall, want the best birthday. I do have to admit that the location is nice though.

The bolognaise was disappointing. First of all, it came in a large bowl that was 3/4s empty. Secondly, it was too greasy ( low quality meats? I use lean pork loin and veal in mine ) and creamy (insufficient milk reduction? Wine reduction skipped over? ). My husband felt sick afterwards. I was okay, but Id washed it down with the house red wine, which was quite vinegary. Over all, it was quite a let down for the price. Will not return. :-(
