I came in with high expectations. Things didnt go well. When I left, realized that this lunch will hold a special place in my heart as the worst meal Ive ever paid for. After being seated by a surly senior citizen, Im assaulted by the menu. This tome is ridiculous. 12 pages plus inserts of inedible garbage and stories about the origins of this monstrosity of a restaurant. The thing is confusing and jarring to someone just interested in a sandwich. So I order the turkey sandwich. I wish I had been warned. The turkey sandwich is two pieces of sliced bread and a half pound lump of turkey. They dont lay it out, they just ball it up and put it in the middle of the bread. There were no condiments, and I had to make a special request from my clearly bored waitress for lettuce and tomato. The turkey was dry, and even after my intervention, it still tasted sad. This turd retails for $12. Not exactly a bargain. I could have gone to Safeway and bought supplies, put them together in half the time and for half the price. Why do I feel that this was the worst meal in my life? Because Ive had equally bad food and service. The reason? Because there is no way that anyone there gives a crap. If they did, they wouldnt have served this lumpy turd they call a turkey sandwich to a fellow human. Apathetic bastards.

I very much like Chompies although I dont get there very much anymore now that they have lost their gluten free delivery cake because people werent buying it as much and because I dont have a lot of family around anymore and its more of a reminiscent everything for me now I do however very much love their food and respect their gluten free menu as well as the endless pickles I am a lover of pickles so thats great too and their gluten-free brownie is definitely a treat Ill stop in for the deli area or support my family with a surprise when theyre here. For special occasions they do rent out rooms and for holidays they do have special menus so thats something to consider if youre looking for it also worth mentioning that they do have a wide range of options for a Jewish deli you dont always see that their menu is huge so they definitely consider those of us that do not necessary enjoy or want the typical Jewish food they have burgers or waffles or basic French fries or just a bagel and cream cheese so there are a lot of options that dont have to be quite to the extreme thats some Jewish delis go to also their deli section and their to go Section is fantastic the bakery products and the to go packages are fantastic too

The service here is average. I got an everything bagel with Jalapeno cream cheese. The Jalapeno cream cheese is spicy and I love it! The bagel however, almost seemed stale. I had it toasted and the "bottom" portion was not a pleasant taste (maybe their toaster is running a little hot?). The rest of the bagel was good. I think there are other bagel shops better than this, but you have to know where they are (little mom and pop shops). I live in Arrowhead and we have two Hot Bagels, I would say they are "the" best bagel shop in all of metro Phoenix. If you are ever out that way, try em out.

I have been going here for years and the food and service is always great before today. Today my bacon was burnt, no big deal right,I burn bacon from time to time. The attitude from the skinny blonde waitress I received was unacceptable and if she worked for me I would have fired her on the spot. The best part is as Im talking to her manager and she is sitting there and then decides to go off again. I have always enjoyed my experiences here and do not think I will ever be going back. So to the waitress with the upmost lack of respect and inability to demonstrate any customer service thanks.

Im sad that this Chompies location is so bad since I love the Tempe restaurant. Last week I went for lunch and my salad had rotten lettuce. The waiter stood between me and the next table to have a convo about welfare/politics with his butt one foot from my face while I attempted to eat. I figured it was a one time bad experience and went again today. Rotten lettuce again! (Picture attached) The service was slightly better this time but understaffed which showed. If you want to try Chompies I recommend going to a different location.

Great food, decent prices and a looooooong wait. Service is slow even when its not busy. You wait even longer for the check to come. If the service were better I would eat there a couple of times a week instead of a couple of times every 2-3 months. Chompies in Tempe is even worse. Service is horrible. They have a huge college population there and could do a lot better. Chompies was one of the first reataurants I visited when I moved here 15 years ago. I wish the service and speed were as good now as it was then.

Incredibly awesome. We were seated right away, and our waitress Mo was on top of everything! We ordered the potato pancake sampler to start, which came out before we could even eat out second pickle, and it was delicious. We split the Jewish slider challenge between the three of us, and again, it was amazing. Staff was friendly and super efficient. Overall it was a great experience. We will definitely be back and will bring all of our guests from Michigan to eat there.

I was so impressed with my 6 year olds Lego birthday cake! I asked if they would decorate it with lots of color and I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box to see it decorated with actual Lego figures that were assembled! Nice touch! They went above and beyond my expectations! Its rare to find great service, delicious ingredients and going an extra mile to make a boys birthday extra special! I will be purchasing all my birthday cakes from Chompies!

The quintessential deli. The only problem is deciding what to eat. Bagels? Delicious and in wide variety. Breakfast? You got it. Sandwiches? Oh MAN have I got good news for you. Listen, just start with the Reuben. The pastrami here is incredible - juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Oh, by the way, they stack the sandwich meat like rappers stack their Benjamins. A little on the pricy side but you get your moneys worth. Totally recommended.

I had a breakfast sandwich which was just OK. The place is just stuff with all kinds of things. As you walk in, it was confusing on where you order and how everything worked. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed and more into their stuff than customers. I wouldnt really recommend this for a breakfast place. The person I was with said their baked goods are very good, but I didnt get any.

With such a great atmosphere and extremely helpful servers, this restaurant certainly knows how to take care of its customers. Though, what really makes me want to go back is the food. Food that is making my mouth water just thinking about it. I highly recommend lovers of traditional and non-traditional New York deli food and delectable desserts to stop by any of the Chompies locations.
