Great place. I am cuban 100% and in my search for my favorite food I ve been in all the cuban restaurants in the phoenix area, and some in san diego. this one is THE ONE here in phoenix. dont let the strip mall to impress you! real Cuban food, super tastie! they have Cuban desserts (wide variety) and the food is excellent! the service is a little different than any other place where you have been bfr but, very similar of what you will get in any cuban restaurant anywhere in the island! lol very very authentic..!!! cuban food in phoenix doesnt get any better than here!! 100% guarantee my fav: tostones (plantains),yuca con mojo(yuca rooth),masitas de puerco (fried pork shops), congri(rice w/beans cooked together) and lechon asado (roasted pork) and tocinillo del cielo for dessert t!!! Please open a location on mill avenue tempe and you guys will triple your profits!!

In the search for the perfect Cuban sandwich my travels took me several miles and many lights up across Phoenix to locate this little gem in a strip mall. The staff sure seems to know what they are doing and the clientele is looking (at least some of them) right out of Havana. The Cuban was the best in a while, with just the right amount of crunch. Could have been a bit meatier, possible a little more zing in the sauce, but all in all a good sandwich and pleasant service. A true pressed Cuban and a couple empanadas and I was off to the races, Next stop Who Knows, As I race across the south west looking, looking , looking for the perfect Cubano.

I went Into this place not ever having cuban food, so I was nervous. BUT the young lady was EXTREMELY nice and patient. She suggested the Ropa veja since I was coming for authentic cuban food. And let me tell u, it was AMAZING. My friend had the Cuban sandwich which was also really great! Everyone should try the platnos. We got a to go box and we got desserts. Which oh my God, were so heavenly. The little guava cups are the best dessert to enter my mouth. I am definitely coming back. We got alot of food for a great price. The service and food was amazing. Please open one in tempe!

When we dont feel like cooking Cuban food this is where me an my mom go LOL!!! We live out in the East Valley and its absolutely worth the 45 min drive. We totally stuff ourselves. The Congri (or Moro) is on point and the Yucca is my moms fav. Weve been customers since they opened and so glad we found this hidden gem. The food is authentic and always delicious. We usually take home a dozen Panetela Boracha of which half are gone by the time we arrive. HIGHLY recommend!!!

I went in with friends there were only a couple people at two other tables and we were ignored. So I started to go up to the counter, thinking that would be helpful. He put his finger up and Ill be with you in a minute and then proceeded start doing paper work and ignored us again. We all looked at each other in disbelief and figured we would find another restaurant. He said by. I have managed 3 restaurants and have never seen anything like this.

Small hole in the wall type restaurant. Not up to par with the large restaurant type etiquettes like having a stand by waiter but definitely not a deal breaker once you have a taste of the food. The food is amazing for someone like me who is not familiar with cuban cuisine. The staff and owners display a humble and warm demeanor complimenting the cozy environment. Definitely a place to try not many Cuban food places available in Phoenix.

I had been in the Phoenix area for 13 years, and this is the only "Cuban" restaurant I can actually call a Cuban restaurant. Born and rise in Cuba, I can tell you in this place even the salad taste like Cuba. I just found they remodeled and expanded the place, and now is about three times bigger, with same excellent food and service. It is a 120 miles round trip from my house, and I am very glad every single time I come to this restaurant.

Best Cuban Restaurant in Phoenix area. My wife is Cuban and when her Dad was here for Thanksgiving, we found out about this place and gave it a try. Now were here for her birthday. Its that good and that authentic. They also have the best variety of Cuban desserts weve had in the valley. Beware: At the time I write this, Google maps takes you to North of Cactus. The correct location is the Northeast corner of 43rd Ave and Peoria.

This place is legit! I ate so much my stomach hurts and I still want to eat more. I travel all over the US and this is the best I have found on the West Cost. And yes, I know, Phoenix is over 5 hours from the actual coast but good luck finding one better in California. I will definitely be eating there next time Im in town... by the way, you need to pre-order the paella 4 hours in advance and its HUGE!

Friendly hostess/waitress and excellent food! Our group ordered tostones filled with ropa vieja, pollo a la plancha(sp?), black beans and masas fritas. Everything is flavorful and on point. I would say that their ropa vieja is better than Havana Cafe and their prices are definitely better. Small restaurant but perfect for small groups or a Saturday lunch date.

I drove from Gilbert for an authentic cuban (being from Tampa) and LOVED it! The puff pastry I took home was AMAZING! I do not remember the name of it but it was filled with a custard type filling and topped with a raspberry drizzle. Not too sweet, just perfect! Wish I did not live so far away since I want to eat here daily!

I travel A LOT for work and every major city I visit I try and recapture a taste of home (Miami). This resturaunt not only had fantastic service but some of the best Cuban food I have eaten outside of Miami specifically their mojo which is hard to do. I am excited for my next trip to Phoenix just to eat at this gem again!

If you are Cuban or know about real Cuban food, this place is the real deal. Not fancy, but really good. Remember, we are really far from Cuba & Miami and this little restaurant is as close as it can get to Hialeah or Calle Ocho.
