This review is for the NEW version of the restaurant as it just reopened after several months being closed. I usually give grace to a newly opened restaurant, but what followed was particularly bad. It was understaffed when we went, so the 3 server/hostesses/bussers/bartenders (they really had to do all those jobs) were barely keeping up, but trying, while the main manager/owner seemed completely oblivious to how things were going. Food was below average quality. My Hunan Shrimp was supposed to be spicy but wasnt, and all the ingredients seemed to be frozen stuff just thrown together. Seemed like frozen shrimp, frozen carrots and peas. A frustrating and unsatisfying experience. Bad enough that despite us living super close, I doubt we will give it another chance. I doubt it will improve when who I think was the owner didnt understand what was going on, let alone get involved to improve the very poor service situation in the entire dining room.

Usually very good, tasty food- love the sizzling rice soup, pad Thai, crispy duck, Peking pork. Szechuan beef was very salty though. Got take home for Valentines dinner 12 (husband & I both had pad thai- I also had soup, and he the Korean chicken) Hub ended up with food poisoning & very sick for just over 24 hours. I do know now they pre make some food, so beware of that. We will go back again, but will be sure to ask if the items are freshly made, not marinated & stored. The service is pretty slow in all the times Ive been there, but theyre usually very busy. Phone orders seem rushed as well. Thx for reading.

Wonderful!!!! Last night was our first visit to the Bamboo House and I know it will not be our last. We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and we have finally found it. We had the poo poo platter, sweet & sour chicken, cashew chicken and the beef with mushrooms and snow peas. Everything was perfectly cooked and the waiter was awesome. I cant say enough about this place. No wonder this place has been here for 22+ years. ....cant forget to mention the mai tai. ...taste great and affordable

This was one of my favorite places to go and I would have never stopped... Unfortunately everything has changed. I think the place is under new management because I dont see the old crew anymore. Their best dish was the orange chicken and theyve decided to change it completely. So pissed. I wish I wouldve know because I would love to get another opportunity to eat at the old bamboo house. Now I wouldnt come near this place if they offered it for free.

Im from NYC, ate many times on Canal, Ive been going here for 16 Years, found few in Arizona that could equal the food and service, the review "G" made clearly indicates he/she doesnt have a clue, Pei Wei is fast food garbage, just the fact that you even consider them infers that you probably wouldnt know good food if it hit you in the face......... Nothing greasy, not Jerky, just a great place, go back to the city if you dont like the food here

I went here on the advice of you people (pointing below). The food was horrible. Coming from the NYC area, I have had good Chinese fod and this is not it. Not close. Greasy, burned and too salty. The pad thai (which isnt Chinese anyhow) was the only edible thing in the place. Mongolian beef is just jerky and the house chicken is actually house breading. Go to Pei Wei at least you might survive.

The NEW Bamboo House has opened. We ordered a carryout lunch, got home and the order was wrong. We ate it anyway and it was sadly not done well. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken and got some sort of chicken and celery dish, way too salty. The Pork Lo Mein was a small, salty portion with a large side serving of rice. They forgot the pork though. Sad they are not doing a better job as it is close by.

Apparently at this establishment, the waiters decide what would like to eat. It only partly up to you. Say for example, can I get a soda? No need to ask for what type of soda, clearly, there is no big difference. So instead of getting sprite, I get a nice dark colored soda of no exact denomination, even after tasting. One credit I do give them is their orange chicken. Thats about it.

The service was outstanding. The food was even better. I honestly think they have the best war won ton soup I have ever had. My 2 year old ate a whole order of pot stickers and she is a very finicky eater. I never ran low on my drink. This place is worth the 3 1/2 hour drive to Phoenix. The wait staff were all very courteous, it felt like I had 10 people waiting on us.

This is my favorite restaurant of all time. The egg rolls are absolutely the best ive ever had anywhere. I usually order standard stuff and love it all, broccoli beef, sesame chicken extra spicy and the orange chicken is awesome. Go for dinner, relax and get a Mai Tai (very good) or you cant beat the lunch special.

This is the second time visiting this restaurant. First time was over a year ago and ordered duck which was horrible. It was so dry. I decided to give it another chance and will not make that mistake again. Again the food was horrible. Dry and over cooked chicken this time. Ribs were also terrible.

Staying at a nearby hotel and decided to get takeout for dinner. The food is very fresh and good quality. One noticeable thing is I ordered steamed vegetables and they were nice and crisp, rather than mushy and overcooked. Just means they know what theyre doing (at least thats what I thought)!

Lunch special was a large portion. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai; good flavor but seriously lacked vegetables. Even the fried rice lacked other ingredients. **** By far the best egg rolls of my life!*** The sign boasted them as hand made, and its no joke. I will go back for more egg rolls!!

Got take out from them for the first time today... it was excellent. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. The entrees marked as spicy have a really good kick to them (most Chinese places I find dont), and they even make their own hot mustard.

Im glad to see this restaurant doing well! I really enjoyed the egg foo yung - nice thick patties, tasty sauce with fresh peas and carrots, large portions. I also had the fried shrimp appetizer - it was okay but the dough seemed a bit heavy. Friendly staff!

Introduced to Bamboo House by a friend and how fortunate for me! Its now a favorite of mine. Everything Ive tried has been delicious, but the Orange Chicken is really over the top, so good. Service has always been consistently good. Love it!

Bamboo house is fabulous! Have been going there for years, the owner Sam is extremely friendly and personable. They also make off the menu items if what you want is not presented on the menu. I eat there at least 2 times a week!

Newly updated, the mushu vegetables were just as good as they used to be. Service was a little hectic but we were there in Christmas Eve and they had only been open again for about a week, I forgive them their growing pains.
