WILL NEVER GO AGAIN, HOERIBLE MANAGEMENT. The place had a nice atmosphere and looked really cool. Its a shame the management was HORRIBLE and very rude. Our waiter skinny short red-blonde hair was extremely dull and it was like talking to a wall. We ordered a Jar of Sangria for $12 Cuz it came in a neat Mason Jar. We specifically asked if we could keep it and he told us yes. So we got excited and got that. The night kept getting later so ud think around 11 ish itd get busy. Nope dead as hell. We were there til 1 and done drinking around 12 but before we could leave 2 things happened. 1st at 12:45 they let this group in with an older lady who was soooo wasted she had to be carried. Why? They put her in a seat and she fell backwards and hit her head. I think they even served this poor lady. 2nd The manager came and asked where his Mason Jar was!! Dude are u kidding me?? We specifically asked our dull waiter if we could keep the jar and he said yes. He said oh no way. I dont have an endless supply of Mason Jars. If your an establishment A, customer is ALWAYS right, or apologize for misunderstanding dont be rude and make a scene and ask WHERES MY MASON JAR? B. A Mason Jar really?!?! One that u can buy for .50 at the store, ur a bar in a popular area and u are counting pennies like that?!?! I believe ur bar is hurting and see why it was very dead from 11-1. The taller skinny manager with glasses is a prick. The bar didnt have anything special whered Id choose it over any other one close by. I will remember that and will make sure everyone at BofA ML knows of this too!

Went on a Saturday night for a friends birthday knowing there would be a wait. We called ahead of time and all reservations were taken but decided to take a chance anyways. My party was told there would be an hour to an hour and a half wait; we sat out-front of the restaurant hoping it wouldnt actually take that long. About 20 minutes into the wait a large table opened up that we could see from where we were sitting outside. We continued to wait, until we were seated TWO HOURS later at the table we had seen cleared when we started our wait. If you are going to make people wait for a table, maybe dont have one sitting in plain sight. I understand that often times restaurants will not seat parties if they cannot adequately serve them at that time, but it would have been nice to sit at a table instead of leaning against a bike rack for two hours. Once we were finally seated our server was prompt, but our appetizers came at the same time as our entrees, and the wait for food was over 30 minutes. I understand that I went to a busy restaurant on a Saturday night, but it is not as if I was expecting 5-star dining, I just was looking for a nice night out for a friends birthday. It is a shame my party had such a poor experience, because I have been here a few times and they were much more pleasant.

Went here for dinner while in Arizona from Oregon. We saw great reviews and figured wed give it a try! Initial impression from the 2 ladies who greet you when you enter = awkward and unprofessional. It took them quite a while to decide where to seat us and they acted very strange/confused etc. We sat for about 10+ minutes before one of the waitress had asked us if we had been helped yet for our drink/food order, which we had not. We then waited 20+ minutes for our food. We ordered an appetizer, it came out with our entrees. The steak on our nachos was definitely cold not even luke warm. My boyfriends burger was cold. Our waitress (she did not bring us the food, some other lady did) looked at us very strange an awkward, maybe because she realized someone else had to bring us our food and asked us how the food was. The food was not horrible but maybe would have been ok if it came to us warm. We will not be returning.

The Perch is one of our favorite hangouts...both for kids and adults. (Our kids love visiting the large collection of exotic rescue birds.) They have an excellent selection of beers on tap, including their own brews, which are all unique and enjoyable; including the "GLCA", the rosemary IPA, and the cinnamon honey nut brown. Most of the seating is in a lovely shaded outdoor area; however that can be a bit warm in the summer. The menu is generally very good; although, quite disappointedly, some of the best choices were recently removed. Weve mostly had good service; but dont try to make same-day reservations, or even put your name on the list one minute before they open; certain hostesses can be rather snooty. Weve been told wait times of 30-40 minutes, when the place is entirely empty! But as others have mentioned, the Perch is definitely a hidden gem.

If you are going to visit this place I suggest you do so for the bar and the birds. The Perch has two bars, one located above where they place their live music and one below, it is gorgeous and easily opens to an outdoor bar for those patio days. The birds are neat and line the entrance. Definitely check them out and heed their warnings about the biters (I may or may not be speaking from experience). I found that the birds can be quite annoying and loud during the day, if you come during the day maybe ask for a seat further away. At night they seem to be more quiet which makes for a great ambiance. Staff seemed friendly enough. We were accidentally not placed on the waiting list and instead of taking this into consideration, they added us to the bottom when they were reminded we were still there.

Went for brunch. They got rid of their amazing tater tot waffles and replaced with with bland Sysco food service frozen home fries that were nasty and soggy. The burro was bland. The tortilla used was not local, just overall bland. Not sure what happened, they used to have an amazing brunch menu. Maybe they hired a chef from Wisconsin or something where everything is bland. Great spot for beers and mimosas though. I didnt see any rats as others have mentioned. Overall service was generally slow and the coffee needed to keep coming. My first coffee was lukewarm. The half and half was the little single serve cups that are loaded with preservatives and other chemicals. Would have been better with locally sourced half and half which only has 2 ingredients: milk and cream.

I wish I could give 0 stars, but none the less....if you want to eat amongst RATS, then this is the place. As my husband and I were walking out (after eating and drinking at the upstairs "perch", I said to him "lets look at the birds"...so we stopped to check them out and sure enough there were RATS everywhere!! Not mice...city, street RATS with long thick tails (puke)! They were crawling up and down the bird cages and eating their food. Im sure the birds are used to them and thats probably why they werent stirring up a fuss. We will NEVER go anywhere near this place!! Oh, and The Perch shares buildings and/or is connected to "55 Chicago". Makes sense as those rats were seriously something you would see in an alley in South Chicago!!
