Authentic or not- and this is about as authentic as it gets- something need be said about Thai cuisine that gets everything right. From the ambiance to the amazing food, this place makes one not want to leave. Ive been to about all of the "legit" Thai places in and around LA, and I still say this one offers most praiseworthy cuisine and peaceful atmosphere; and lets not forget not having to battle excruciating LA traffic and shady parking spaces ruining your otherwise relaxing meal. Whatever you order off the menu is going to be delicious, but allow me to make some suggestions as to whats "hot" in this place- no pun intended, but their chicken curries are perfectly spicy. Appetizers: Chicken Satay- Perfectly grilled, succulent chicken skewers served with a side of sweet peanut sauce, a squeeze lime juice, & refreshing diced cucumber pieces. The Spring Rolls are also a favorite- for good reason- and come served with the most delicious sweet chili sauce Ive ever tasted. Main Courses: My personal favorite are the Tofu Pad Thai- can also be made vegan without the egg- chewy, succulent rice noodles served with piping hot, juicy tofu slices, bean sprouts, sliced veggies, & crushed peanuts. Theres a slight hint of sweetness to this dish that makes it positively unforgettable... in a good way. The Chicken Fried Rice is my second favorite, as it offers the perfect balance of savoriness, heft, and chicken-to-rice-to-chive ratio that gives this dish an unforgettable taste. The dessert menu is modest on size, but not on flavor. The Fried Banana with Homemade Coconut Ice Cream, sprinkled with brown sugar & cinnamon is by far one of the best desserts ever, & their Sweet Coconut Sticky Rice (with or without mango) is next in line. The drink menu is extensive & boasts a fair amount of teas, coffee, & booze, including a sweet rice wine called Zato which is said to compliment the rather heavy food nicely, as it has a refreshing finish. Or for $5, you can get yourself a real coconut & guzzle that sweet water during your meal, & save the meat for dessert.

I was craving Thai food and the place I regularly eat at is across town . WHAT A mistake that was. I ordered shrimp pad thai. And thai rice . The girl that took my was nice but I asked for spicy and got no spice on the rice or pad thai . The worst part about it was the shrimp was bad it had a ammonia smell to them . So I toss out what my wife and I had on our plates and pick out the shrimp . Called the Restaurant talked to a lady and she offered to remake the order . But after getting what was given to me I said no thank . A refund would be the thing to do. Wasted my time returning the food to the restaurant and was told by a guy who told me he was the manager . That I could not get a refund and he would make me a new order. I said no thank you I would prefer a refund. He answered that the food was good and the shrimp was not bad . I told him if he needed the twenty five dollars that bad keep it , but think about your business and customers you could get.them sick. His response was I have enough customers . I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL

We had the peanut curry and the pad thai, with mini eggrolls as an appetizer. Dont bother with mini eggrolls -- theyre so small that you taste the wrapper more than the filling. The regular sized ones might be better. As for the entrees, they had an odd sweetness to them that made me 1. glad I hadnt ordered pineapple curry and 2. wonder if all their sauces came from a box (like a powder mix). Ive had peanut curry before, quite a bit of it, and its never tasted that sweet. It didnt even taste peanutty. Sala Thai is much better, and theres at least two of them in the Phoenix area. The decor of Thai Orchid was very appealing, colorful without being distracting, and the room was a nice size. The service was fine too. But when you get down to it, you go to a restaurant for the food, and based on the things I tried I will not be going back. Try Sala Thai instead. Thai Elephant Bistro in Tempe is also very good. Dont bother with Thai Orchid unless you really want that strange sweet aftertaste.

This is very good stuff. If you like authentic Thai, youll like it. Great curry. Its a quiet little restaurant, feels very laid back and easy-going. Not too fancy. Perfect for when you need something better than fast food but youre not exactly needing Olive Garden or something like that. Not very well known yet, so Ive never had to wait for a seat. Its the kind of place I hope does well enough to stay in business, but not so well to ruin the laid-back vibe. By the way, not that it matters...but it seems to be well-known amongst the retiree crowd. I think the owner is an older guy with lots of older friends. so if youre older and dont like being around noisy youngsters, this is an especially good place for you to go.

It seems like Google might be confusing the Thai Orchid Garden in AZ with one in CA - the website listed is for a restaurant in CA! The one is AZ is pretty average, not too greasy and decent flavors. I would not go back nor would I recommend this place to anyone. I am new to the area and will certainly go elsewhere for Thai. I had a pad thai, which was awful - sweet and plain. The thai basil vegetables were good, but only seasoned with black pepper. The yellow curry was good. The egg rolls were awful and served with a disgusting sweet and sour sauce, not the typical plum sauce. The thai ice teas were good. Service was slow and not attentive, but not rude either.

You will never find another Thai restaurant delivering such service and excellent food quality as this! Upon entering the establishment, the decorum will simply surprise you. Beautifully and simply done yet with an authentic Thai ambiance - this restaurant can be formal, informal and even provide a romantic dining experience. Please be advised....From the first bite of any appetizer (Spring Rolls, Crab Puffs, etc) you are so pulled in to the flavor(s), aroma(s), and texture(s) of this spectacular cuisine that you will forget youre dining with others. You will want to eat it all!!! So, order several dishes to keep the "harmony" among your fellow diners! LOL!

The service is always great, unless it gets really busy but thats when I decide to order to go. I have had the food dine in and to go on many different occasions and I have always enjoyed the food. I have forgotten what was the first foods I had first but now I only get the Yellow Curry. I normally get the Mild and my girlfriend gets the spicy (Although she says it isnt even spicy). It taste amazing (she agrees as well) and it is so much food (Even without the meal deal they have). I always end up having leftovers. The price is pretty fair as well. Im starting to come back once or twice a week, I never have done that with a place before.

Incredible food, friendly service, and fair prices! Their lunch specials are fantastic and plenty of food- but really cheap! The atmosphere (while cheesy) is very relaxing and the colors are really calming c: Nice for one-6 people. Parties of 6+ should definitely call ahead so they can move the booths around for you, but theyll be happy to accommodate! Peanut curry + Pad Thai are what Id recommend; and its a great place to try Thai tea if youve never had it before. Like a dessert to the dishes!
