From the moment I walked in I knew this wasnt your typical burger joint! The interior decor was hip and unique. As I waited in line, I did notice the music was slightly too loud, making it difficult to communicate with others. The staff was very friendly and offered helpful advice for a first timer. With their new backroom space, the system of calling names when your order is finished was slightly dysfunctional. However they were kind enough to deliver our food to a back table, as we did not hear our names called. They offered plenty of seating space, to accommodate all sized groups. My food was ready in a timely fashion. I went with the highly praised Croque Garçon burger, and it exceeded my expectations. Paired with the Gangsta Fries, I had a delicious and sizeable meal. I would highly recommend Block 16 to any burger lover as well as anyone who loves to try new things. Overall, GREAT food and WONDERFUL experience. I will absolutely be back to Block 16 in the near future.

It was a little hard to find from the street, it seemed purposefully hidden in plain site. This is not a be seated and a server will assist you type of place. Walking in youll approach the counter and order from the hanging menu. I would suggest you review the menu before stepping in line, people are going in and out very quickly. All of the food was great, fresh, and definitely home made recipes. The menu has good variety all while sticking to a home grown theme. If youre from the south like I am, the fried chicken will be a bit different (but still good). It was battered with bread crumbs rather than the usual egg wash and flour. The Gangsta Fries were unique and very tasty. They have a very small area for seating, I would consider this a quick hang out with a small group of friends, casual date, or a place to grab a bite by yourself.

Living in Austin, we have no shortage of amazing food options, which makes it difficult for my wife and I to travel and find things we like. This last trip to Omaha, we found 2 places that are both amazing. Block 16 and Mula, I highly recommend these to anyone willing to try something a little different. Block 16 is a little chic place where they have awesome beer choices, a really nice looking menu with tons of options, and not too long of a wait time (we are used to waiting about 45 minutes for some restaurants in Austin). We both had the burgers which were fantastic, a little messy, but delicious none-the-less. The sweet potato fries were a little mushy but the dipping sauce made up for that because it was so good. Block 16 is great and even if you live in far west omaha, I think its worth the trip. Highly recommend!

In town for a weekend getaway and sought this place out after reading some excellent reviews online. Glad I did, as its quite possible I just consumed the best burger Ive ever had. Behold the Croque Garcon: 1/3 lb burger, cheese, ham, over-easy egg, truffle butter, all slapped onto a perfectly toasted ciabatta. As the egg broke over the contents, I pondered how messy I would get eating (answer: very). I couldnt stop taking bites and had the burger down in no time. Pair this with the poutine and youll be a happy camper. My table also had the Pulled Pork Roll, which was good in its own way, but didnt hold a candle to the Croque Garcon. Service was with a smile. Very friendly staff at the restaurant. Highly recommended. Get there early or be prepared for a line (and no available seating) as the interior is relatively tiny.

One of the best burger joint in Omaha hands down.this place gets packed around noon with a line out the door so I usually try to go around 1:30 when the crowds arent as bad what initially drew me to block 16 was their duck duck goose fries.its fries with bits of duck and crispy duck skin with gooseberry sauce and cheese on top I get it every time I go.they also do poultine and about three other french fry dishes along with sandwich of the day and grilled cheese of the day usually a cheese you have never heard of but is probably delicious served on some amazing sounding bread.they also serve locally brewed beers and possibly wine will have to look again next time I go

A quaint little hole in the wall restaurant. I had the Croque Garcon, which was a culinary delight of ham, a great burger, and an egg with a partial runny yoke. This was complimented with poutine, which was good but the fries were sadly overly salted. My lady had a Dragon Wrap with salmon and regular fries, which were also salted way too much. Otherwise, she liked it with no additional complaints. So, you get a 4. Please, lighten up on the salt, for goodness sake. The fries will be better without it. And get some Canadian beer; youre Canadiens. A Molson, a Keiths, something.... these beers are Canadian treasures that must be shared. Patrick

Amazing food, a little dark at night but totally worth a visit. Edit- 2/14/17 -- Difficult to see the food in the room pictured if you dont directly face a light source. Kinda dark; i mean some areas lack necessary lighting to see the food, but there is a dining room with plenty of light connected to the room pictured. If they got creative with the edison bulbs (which add to the ambience) and hung some in the windows itd be perfect, but there might be a reason as to why they decided not to. Who knows ?; the food rocks socks so theyve got a repeat customer of 4 times now.

We had the Block Burger and Gangsta Fries. Both were great, but the fries were better. The chipotle sauce and green onions were perfect together over the crunch-outer, soft-centered fries. They have a large selection of local beer. On this busy night, the line was out the door. The food took quite some time to get to us, but it was worth it. The atmosphere was fine, but noisy. It is difficult to talk intimately when the place is full like it was on this visit. All-in-all they have very good food for a decent price. I recommend Block 16 - its a must try.

Good atmosphere !Was on the list of places to eat in Omaha since all my friends rave about it, and it is good! I would go again to try my hand at a different sandwich.Just was a little disheartening that the burger my hubby ordered was not medium but medium rare borderline rare. Also as much as we enjoyed the Dragon fries and duck fries (Dragon fries were by far the fave!) The amount of salt was very heavy laden. Enjoyed our beer: zip line oatmeal stout and dark side.Good to bring the kiddos if you can snag yourself a booth seat!

Simply one of the best places to eat in Omaha! Alton Brown wasnt exaggerating when he named the Croque Garcon the best burger in America; the food here is incredible. What Jessica and Paul have managed to do with Block 16 is magical and always worth the wait. But to skip a little of that line, go for an early or late lunch and avoid the noon rush. Oh, and get the poutine - as a fellow Canadian, I can personally vouch for Jessicas authentic recipe for the popular dish.
