I used to love this place, but I definitely have had better Chinese food else where recently. I dont know what happened but their dinner rolls have been dry and bland the last few times. Then the fried wonton noodles were just full of oil, usually I like to crunch them up in my wonton soup but this time it left my hands a mess. The rest of the food was alright though, but again I have had better. Also they have recently instituted a no free refills policy (new to us, we havent been there in a few months prior to this visit) but nothing was said until we asked the second time. The waitress we had also seemed very rushed and really didnt want wait for us to tell her our order. My friend ordered a dish with lobster (dont know the exact name) but wanted fried rice instead of white rice, she said that it was the same as a combo 11 so he accepted the combo 11. After she left my other friend pointed out that the combo 11 had shrimp and no lobster, so when she came back we had her correct the order and he just got it without fried rice since that seemed to be the issue with her. Just a lot of little stuff that added up to a less than mediocre experience. I gave it 3 stars because overall thats what Id rate the food, but service is lacking.

Not entirely impressed at all. Ordered szechuan shrimp, a typically spicy and flavourful dish, and it had absolutely no taste. Normally when I get chinese food, I eat half of it at dinner, and enjoy eating it reheated the next day. I wasnt able to finish a bowl of my meal at dinner, and was honestly, dreading eating the rest of it the next day, but knew I spent close to $10 on it, so I should finish it. Today, its taken me pouring a teaspoon if not more, of red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and a generous amount of soy sauce (and I dont even really LIKE soy sauce) to get any desirable amount of flavour in it. Overall, not impressed and will be sticking to New Star Express. Only good thing that appealed to me was the fact that it was open until 11pm.

This place had gone way down over the years. It is the only Chinese restaurant within walking distance and years ago ,my husband and I ate there quite often. I will not go there again. I ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce lunch special and the entire combo plate was brown, brown fried rice with no vegetables to be seen; brown sauce with no veggies for the shrimp. Bits of the sauce (which, I know, having made Chinese food, comes in a brick) that had not been incorporated with the water needed to thin it down so lumps of brown goo got stuck on my teeth. The egg roll had an odd taste, not quite bleach, but something like it. I took the filling out and it didnt have that taste, so it must have been the casing. Please dont go.

I can understand the dichotomy of reviews for Ruby having just dined there. Yes, the prices are standard, the food is adequate. There was plenty of it, but there was some food that I genuinely did not care for. They asked me what soup I wanted (thus, according to them, I had locked getting a dinner item instead of Sweet and Sour Shrimp as an entree $$). The Egg Drop Soup was very good. Thick, lots of noodles. The homemade bread however, was warm and as tasteless as chewing on a soft linen towel. If this were a class on eating out on Xmas day I would grade the price a C-, the food a C+ and the service a C. Overall, Id reluctantly have to recommend finding a better Chinese restaurant.

If you are a vegetarian DO NOT EAT HERE. They will lie to you about what is in your food just to shut you up. I dont usually complain. I go with the flow and eat what is vegetarian on the menu. The problem I have is when they tell you something is vegetarian, you get it, and it totally isnt. I can tell. Ive been veggie for almost 2 decades. After getting our food and numerous times asking, she finally came out and told us nothing on our table was vegetarian. I really hate being "that guy" at a restaurant, but I really dont like being lied to. I would say avoid this place at all cost even if you do eat meat.

Im giving it two stars because of it being decent for American Chinese food. However I have gone to this restaraunt for the last time. Every review about how rude the staff is at this location is correct. They also charge a different price every time you order. Tonight, they actually tried to charge me thirty cents for chop stickswith my take out...that I already paid for. I had ordered the same thing a week prior with no charge for chop sticks. They really make it up as they go along. I have no idea how they will remain open with the level of incompetence present in their staff/owners.

Someone removed my review from a couple weeks ago so i will keep posting everytime my review is removed!! I went there a few weeks ago with my 95 year old grandma and the sweet n sour chicken was so awful we only ate piece each!! We didnt want a refund or anything we just wanted to let the waitress know thst the food wasnt that good and she was really rude. I would never go there again. Been to many chinese restaurants and NEVER had a problem with the food or the wait staff. Just a very bad experience.

My husband and I ordered sesame chicken, beef broccoli, wonton soup and chicken lo mein. Everything was extremely bland. The beef in the beef broccoli was very fatty. The eggrolls didnt taste like anything. The rice was ok. Dont even get me started on the chicken lo mein. It was absolutely disgusting. It was bland with a horrible after taste. The sauce was gelatinous. I couldnt believe it. Took two bites and threw it in the garbage. I will definitely not go back there again.

I can honestly say, I did NOT like the food from this restaurant. In all fairness, its been a couple years since weve eaten here, but we didnt give it another chance due to the experience we had the first time. The food was just bad. Nothing specific, it just didnt taste good. The few people (friends) Ive talked to regarding the food from this place all agree....they were NOT impressed with the food. My vote for the best Chinese Carry-out in Warren is New Star Express!

Overall, Ruby is a good Chinese restaurant. Most of their dishes that we have tried (Almond Chicken, General Tsos, etc.) are OK, but nothing out of the ordinary for this type of restaurant. What stands out though, is their signature Ruby Chicken. It is an excellent mix of sweet and spicy, without overpowering either way. I order the Ruby with white rice, and have been extremely happy with the food every time.

As hard as I tried I could not make the almond boneless chicken taste like the cashew chicken I ordered. Waitress was too busy paying attention to the complaining customer instead of taking our order correctly. Terrible food. Terrible service. Owner made fun of complaining customer when she left the restaurant. If I was bilingual I could relay what was said.
