Im from Pa and was visiting the area from the holiday weekend when I got hungry googled this restaurant. I viewed the menu and decided that Id go there and order the salmon and yellow rice - priced $12.95 . When we got there - practically empty place (two patrons), we were handed a menu, displaying the same price. The woman asked if we wanted another beverage because what we wanted (from the menu), they didnt have it. So, we asked to sample the tamarind drink (which was very tart - too much lemon). We didnt like it. I ordered the food to go and sat and waited. When the woman brought the food, I gave her my card and she charged me $16.01 for the food ($14.95 plus tax). I showed her the price on the menu and online and asked how come I was overcharged? She went for the manager, who came to tell me that the prices on the food are subject to change at any time. I told him that if thats the case, he shouldnt advertise a set price for food on the menu. The manager would not honor the advertised price. I feel that this place is horrible for business and I would never refer anyone to patronize this establishment.

I used to work here and I truly believe this place needs to be shut down. I dont even know where to begin. The owner creeped me out, he was very angry and honestly frightened me on several occasions. I was yelled at and embarrassed on several occasions, out in the middle of the restaurant. He didnt even have the dececy to pull me into the office or even the kitchen, just right out on the floor. I have been a server for over 5 years. This place was without a doubt the worst job I have ever had. The food quality is terrible. A customer complained about getting food poisoning and they were blamed for "eating too much" and was told "oh you should have sent it back if it wasnt prepared correctly". I know at least two of the servers were working illegally, they admitted to me they didnt have a green card. The food is over priced and portions are small. Every aspect of this restaurant is just bad. Poorly ran, poorly maintained, poor quality, poorly prepared. The customer service is laughable between the owner / managers (yes, same person) anger issues and lack of experience Im amazed this place is still open.

This is my second review for this restaurant and theyre consistent at something, theyre mediocre at best. The food is ok, typical Caribbean menu with tostones, mofongo, rice and beans. The menu is ok but the chronic problem with Cazabe is the management and customer service. As soon as you walk in into the building there is no host to be seen. They have no designated area to accommodate large groups. We were a group of 9 people and we have to wait until another a table became available to merge them together. Then the waiter attending us admitted she was in charge of the bar but they moved her to the restaurant to handle the amount of patrons. Fast forward almost two hours later they were still serving food to people on my table and the served the kids last; which is a big no no. We were sharing our food with the kids because the fries didnt arrive on time. The servers are nice, but their system dont work. They need to figure out a better way to deal with customers. Latin food is the only reason we visited this restaurant.

I do not recommend this restaurant. The first and only time I visited this restaurant was January 28, 2012. The menu has more Mexican than Dominican dishes. The service was poor. It took them forever to serve (pollo guisado) rice beans and stew chicken a simple Dominican dish. To my disgrace the food was tasteless. Seriously it was bad. I also ordered a ceasar salad. Please dont! it was very bad and the dressing water with vinegar what was that? Dominican food is full of flavors, it taste good. But, you wont find that in this restaurant. The only positive point is the decoration. It looks "caribbean" or "cheap" or "poor"... Anyway, I have eaten in far better Dominican restaurants than this one. I am very disappointed and would not recommend it.

Quality authentic latin cuisine cooked by people make it the same for work as they would at home. The Bistec is savory, the half chicken is marinated just right, and the chicken soft tacos are my weekly addiction. Ask for the salsa, they make it themselves - and it goes on the tacos perfectly. The prices are also very low, on average I leave having paid ~11 for myself, and I always have something left over! It can be hit or miss whether the servers speak perfect english, but they will work hard with you to get it just right - trust me - there is a reason this place is the lunchtime stop for many who miss home cooking while they are away at work.

Mediocre food and some of the worst service I have ever had! Not only did they serve my appetizer and entree at the same time, the waitress dumped the sauce from entree into my lap. She then failed to apologize or get the extra napkins I asked for! The manager mumbled an apology but also failed to supply the requested napkins! Then finally to add insult to injury when the hapless waitress brought the check, her pen leaked ink all over my hand...once again no apology or effort on her part to help clean up. Thankfully the other waitress came to my rescue with a wet washcloth...to bad I didnt sit in her section!

First time at this restaurant since ownership changed. Visited during happy hour on a Friday, the place was vibrant with Caribbean beats flowing from the sound system, patrons were dancing, waitresses were attentive and beautiful and the Masita De Cerdo which is fried pork with onions served with a side of rice and beans was delicious. I peaked into the dining room which is adjacent to the bar area and its well lit and decorated with artifacts youd expect from a Spanish Restaurant. One final point- you dont have to get dressed up to enjoy this place, and theres a live dj and dancing on the weekends.

Our family has eaten there twice already and left full and happy both times. The first time I had their fried chicken with rice, beans, and tostones (fried plantains), excellent! The next time, which happened to be this evening, I had their pollo guisado (chicken fricase) and I was in heaven! Our intentions when we go their have been to partake of their Dominican cuisine, but my daughter had the quesadilla and I helped myself to some of the guacamole that comes on the plate and MAN was I surprised and blown away at how good it tasted. You have to try for yourself!!

good Latin cuisine. Helpful to know some Spanish, but not mandatory. More Caribbean flavour than Mexican. No chips and salsa auto dropped at the table for instance, but thats okay with us. Had the range of taco offerings, beef, pork and chicken. Best was pork, others good as well. Fried yucca were just like steak fries, even offered ketchup to go with. Was very quiet while here. Busier later in the evening. No desserts on the day we were there. Also not a problem, till youre ready to chase away the lingering spice after meal is over. Condensed: Try.
