I bought a chocolate cupcake, eclair, chocolate croissant, and a piece of chocolate mousse cake. They were each awful. Truly awful. The "buttercream" (so they called it) frosting on the cupcake was not made with butter. Instead, they used some cheap hydrogenated substitute like crisco or shortening. The cake part of the cupcake was dry and flavorless. The eclair filling also tasted cheap. The croissant was thin and hard instead of light and fluffy and the chocolate filling was not just chocolate but some sort of chocolate concoction that had some unpleasant nearly revolting taste to it that I couldnt put my finger on. The chocolate mousse cake had a bad smell and taste. It was starting to ferment or the dairy in the mousse was starting to go sour. I only ate a bite of it because it smelled and tasted off. I set it on the table next to my bed. The next morning when I woke up, I rolled over and got a very strong whiff of the "going bad" smell that it had. The interior of the place looks like it was decorated to resemble the inside of a rundown Kmart or Big Lots. Apparently, equal effort, pride, and quality have been put into the decor as well as the food. Save yourself money, buy a Twinkie or Little Debbie...either will taste better than anything at Pastry Garden. I dont see how anybody could leave this place a good review unless they own it.

I Love ordering from the Pastry Garden for my kids parties. It doesnt matter how outlandish a design my son wants, they ALWAYS deliver. My guests always love the results, both the taste and the design. It is better to stay away from fancy fillings (german chocolate for instance) because those arent the best, but the cannoli cream is great. The prices are great too. I highly recommend them for cakes and cupcakes.

The Pecan chocolate Tart is amazing. I cant speak for just about anything else as I always get a pecan tart. Its like a pecan pie done right. No gooey sugary bottom. Pecans and chocolate chips all the way to he bottom!
