Went to the Molly Wee in summer 2007. Good beer selection, and jovial cool guests. People of all sorts, interesting. Musicians, perfomers, actors, etc. Made some friends there, who invited us to a recording session for their band. Spent $87 on the bar tab, until the wuss behind the bar asked us to leave. The signs on the wall are all bullshit. This is no more an Irish pub than Budweiser is a beer! A true Irish pub is the place where people gather, to learn who got married, who is sick, who is doing well and who is going under. New couples, and new babies, a wonderful meeting place for the Irish village. Duh! Of course you talk to patrons at other tables. But obviously the management of the Molly Wee think otherwise. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE SEEKING THE EXPERIENCE OF AN AUTHENTIC IRISH PUB. The Molly Wee is NOT Irish. It is just a place to give up money to managment who need to pay the rent. Ugh!

The staff there are the best in the neighborhood. Paul and Sean really know how to make you feel welcome. I love taking people to this place for the first time. One of the most underrated Irish Pubs in all of Manhattan. While that neighborhood can be very hit or miss when it comes to nightlife options, Molly Wees is a consistent bright spot. I live a 15 min walk from Molly Wee, and I have no problem passing 50 or so other bars on my way to grab a pint. As far as food, Id give it a 4/5 when comparing it to NYC pub food, you cant go wrong. On a real scale, Id slide it back to a 3/5 because, well, its pub food, and you get what you get when it comes to that. Not trying to dissuade anyone from ordering food there, as I have plenty of times in the past, I just normally go to blow off steam and watch some sports with friends.

If youre Hispanic, be aware of this place. Super racist (white) workers. We werent even greeted properly and we were told we couldnt sit at a particular table that we wanted to sit at. Our waitress we had was a little rude. We understood it was her first day, but she couldve have been more welcoming and respectful. My mother asked for a Sangria to another waitress because the new waitress didnt know if they sold Sangria, the waitress looked at us with a dirty face and told us "really? We dont serve that here." Never again, would I come here or recommend this place to anyone.

Had a number of evenings in here, mainly because whilst in New York my wife was poorly and it was close to our hotel in case we needed to return quickly(if you get my drift). We had a couple of meals which were excellent, and I had a few nights on my own, which also were excellent. You cant fail to start chatting to someone in this bar, its also a great place to watch the footy, and I also met and chatted to Adam Wakeman(yes son of Rik) in this bar, what a splendid chap, he was with a nice young lady on that night, Debbie who was also lovely. Great Irish Bar in NYC

Great little Irish pub, with no shortage of Irish folk! We stopped in to watch a basketball game and had a great time with Paul, one of the bartenders. Hes been there a long time and has some great stories, so be sure to ask him about some. Id recommend the beef sliders. They have a German, stone ground mustard, so be sure to ask for it if thats your thing. It was a dark but friendly bar where anyone could fit in. The owner of the bar across the street even pops in regularly. Great place to catch a game or just chill for a while.

Good service however the food is very sub par. French onion soup is extremely salty and the wings are made soggy with a mixture of tomato paste and Tabasco sauce. The pasta was more like soup and the clams casino were all bread and no clam or bacon. Service is very good with cheerful people but the recipes need to be improved upon greatly. Also one person from our party got very ill from the pasta and chicken in vodka sauce. Overhaul greatly needed in the preparation and design of their menu

The Molly Wee has been my favorite go to bar since before I even lived in NYC. 4 years later and the phenomenal service has me coming back every time. My favorite bartender Séan Boyle makes fantastic drinks including an amazing Irish coffee and carries on with the best conversation. Im enjoying the Molly Wee burger as I type this, and its hitting the spot perfectly. If youve been looking for a new bar to frequent, this is it! I highly encourage you to come visit.

My wife and I ordered the Wee salad and Club turkey sandwich which included fries. The portions were generous but there was nothing special about the salad or sandwich; in fact, both were rather tasteless. The fries looked cooked from frozen grocery store. The waitress forgot our water and the service was slow; granted it was a busy night but still, dont all restaurants have busy nights? Overall, not impressed at all.

So heres the story, my brother is picky and doesnt like anything so my parents took us around to look at restaurants. We look at the menu and my brother sees nothing he wants. But then the owner takes us in and tells us he can get just a plain cheese burger or something. The owner was very and nice and assertive and got my brother what he wanted. So thats why this place is a 5/5. Good service, food, and drinks!

Went there after a late nite comedy show and they were the only ones with an open kitchen. The waitress was extremely pleasant and our food came really quickly. My cheesebiurgerwas very good and hot with mozzarella and bacon. My girlfriend had the steak sandwich. Both came with French fries, lettuce, and red onion. I would easily go there again.

Pretty solid place near MSG to get a drink and catch a game. Theres nothing special about it, and the crowd tends to be more people in their 30s-50s, so dont expect to pick up a date here if youre in your 20s and looking to go out on the town. This is a sports bar first and foremost, and it typically has a good turnout for local team games.

Great location. Good specials. Nice food menu. Close to Penn Station and only a block from bus stops. Very clean place. I just wish the server remembered that the reason she is there is the people in front of her, and not her coworkers. I will give it another chance. Oh, the music was great. I mean a really nice mix of 80s and 90s rock.

Its a no frills neighborhood watering hole. Good service. Plenty of tables and seats with a large bar area. Youll find many locals here. Nice variety of beers on tap and in bottle with usual for this area drink prices. Nice amount of large screen TVs and a large projection TV in the front broadcasting local games.

Love this pub. Always feel at home here when I come. The bartenders (especially Paul), are personable and really nice to chat to! They always give me great service and never fail to engage with the customers. Ill be back- its my regular watering hold in the MSG hood.
