Checker is a burger joint that has many burgers to choose from. Although they don’t have the best looking burgers, or the fancy high-class ones, you can always find yourself a fast meal on the go. Imagine McDonald or Burger King; Checker is exactly that, but on a smaller scale, selling decent patties between the buns and a side of fries and fountain drink. They also serve milkshakes, so for an additional price; you can upgrade your soft drink with something much better. Milkshake and burgers, by the way, makes a great pairing, like match-made-in-heaven! The place is decently clean, and always has seats available for their customers for dine in. Often times, they would have certain promotions going on, so it’s always to keep a watchful eye. You might score yourself a really good shake for an impressively reduced price. Because it’s a fast food joint, you can expect to get your meal fast, so you don’t have to wait that long to tame your hungry stomach! Tired of Mickey D or hunting for the Burger King? Although the heading might say drive-in restaurant, there is no drive thru area lol. Its located in the city between buildings, so no parking except for street parking etc. Basically, they opened a couple years ago, but its already starting to feel like its been there for a while. I noticed most of the people going there are usually from the nearby high schools, so it draws a young group of people, but its really like any other fast food joint. They have specials and deals every now and then, and I remember a few times they would pass out coupons on fliers. I like that they have a value menu with dollar items, so if you just want a snack, you can get some simple items. I like their shakes, they are pretty good tasting and a quick grab and go item, especially on a warm day.

The seasoned fries are some of the best in the area, and their burgers are decent. Seating area is generally kept tidy. However, their self-serve soft drink machines often go down or are out of a large selection, so be sure to check before ordering a drink. On more than one occasion Ive been forced to choose between only diet sodas and water.

checkers is somewhere i have been going to in los angeles as well as new orleans and i think has also been called rallys. i passed this place recently and it brought back all of those memories from my childhood going there through the drive through but those are rare here of course

I mean... its a Checkers in the city. The place itself is pretty grungy and run down (its not been there that long...), but the food tastes like youd expect and the fries are addictive. Hamburgers arent half bad either, but get it to go and get out of there.

They have some one on the corner handing out flyers for a discount. However once you get inside, the prices are the same. Nothing like McDonalds or Burger King. Place looks shady and most of the time, dirty. Staff dont have good listening skills.

I was enjoying some drinks close by at The Patriot and needed a quick bite to eat; Checkers did not disappoint. My friend and I picked up 20 piece wings and some fries. The service was quick and the establishment clean.

Save your money. For the price of the meal, I could of walked up to Schnippers and gotten a decent burger minus the stomach upset later. For a fast food place I think its a little pricey.
