Its hard to find Hawaiian food in the Midwest... let alone GOOD Hawaiian! Having been in Vegas for 10 years prior (where there are lots of Hawaiian places) it was great to know that Ono Kine Grinds is just down the road. I got some crispy pork to-go but next time Im hoping to sit in to get the full experience...it would pretty much be like eating in someones home. They were not shy with the samples or making you feel welcome. Its a bit costly (I got the pork and dumpling apps and it was $20 just for me, hence the 4 stars). The "market" is a good find too...its limited but has some hard to find things like good Kimchi, Katsu sauce, Real Kona Coffee and Portuguese brand sausage. Again, a bit expensive but I get why.

All I can say is "ono-licious!!!" We lived in the islands for awhile, and the memories just came flooding back! If youve ever had a Hawaiian "plate lunch", or even if you havent, you will appreciate what this hidden gem has to offer. The store is filled with things you would typically find in a hawaiian general store--including tons of aloha spirit!!! The staff/owners are incredibly nice and friendly/welcoming--we cant wait to return. We ordered a little of everything and were not disappointed with any of it. My son is a picky eater, and when we were leaving he said his stomach was "numb" LOL The desserts are a must, the combo plate was incredible!!! Check it out!!!!!

Hawaiian food in Wisconsin?!? This is my favorite restaurant hands down. Ive been going here for about 9 months (as of this review) no less than 4 times a month and it never gets old. There are always new one-off and daily specials to try which are always great. The food always is prepared quickly and the staff is always extremely friendly. The combo plate is probably the most popular option but ask about the Loco Moco, Lau Lau, or Kalbi. And the Mama Lao chili crisp, ask about that. Desserts are made fresh daily and are all very good. My favorite cake is split between Guava or Lilikoi. You cant go wrong here. If you are unsure of what to order ask one of the staff members.

This was the best BBQ out, Ive had in a very long time! I am almost afraid to eat in Hawaii, as I feel that the restaurants there wouldnt even be able to compete! BEST to go when youre hungry and even better when youre cold! You just close your eyes and eat the food, with the Hawaiian music playing the background, you will be escorted to the Islands! Not to mention, the staff was very friendly. We were sort of in and out for lunch and it could have been a bit faster, but the totally chill atmosphere was a great lunch break in a busy week/weekday! GO! You wont regret it! To note: there are two tables that seat up to 6 adults comfortably and one table that 2-4 could sit.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. My boyfriend and I shared the combo plate with macaroni salad and carrot slaw as well as a side of the tuna poke. Everything was so flavorful and well balanced. The meat was tender and juicy and the sides were refreshing. We also saw a piece of homemade pink guava cake in the deli case, and Im sure glad we got it. It was light, floral, and had whipped cream frosting to compliment the airy sponge cake and fruit jelly. I am excited to come back. Thank you to the owners for making me feel at home!

Im happy to have stumbled upon this place by accident one day. They have an assortment of unique Hawaiian food items (sauces, condiments, macadamia nuts, etc). And their hot food is amazing. Their Char Siu Chicken is one of my favorites (Chinese style barbecued chicken). And their carrot pineapple slaw is unlike anything Ive ever had before. If you get a combo plate you can expect a very generous portion of food. The owners, Guy and David, are great people and make all their customers feel welcome. Im hooked for life!

I spent my first 16 years living in Hawaii (on Maui and The Big Island, of Hawaii). It is amazing to me to have such familiar comfort food available in Milwaukee!! The food is ONO (amazingly delicious) - I love the chicken and pork and THE RICE - OMG the rice!!!! And their salads are beautiful and delicious. The owner and staff are amazing, friendly, and helpful. They truly bring the Aloha Spirit to our little corner of the mainland. I cannot recommend this place enough - whether youve been to The Islands or not.

The combo plate is a must! So much delicious food, I couldnt even finish it... and that is a first. The place is quite small, and not a lot of tables. I had my food to go, so I cant speak to a dine in experience. The service I did encounter was good. I was able to order my food pretty much the minute I walked in. I had my food and paid in less then 5 minutes. The food was amazing and I can not wait to go back for more. Lots of cool things for sale in this market/restaurant.

This place is nothing but good vibes. The moment I walked into Ono Kine Grindz, I got greeted with much manner. Not to mention, the food here was great as well. I got the Ahi Poke and Loco Moco and both the dishes were amazing. My only complaint would be the eating area which is just a little bit small. However, if you can look pass the little eating space then this place is a good place to chow down and have a good time talking.

Love, love, loved it! I stopped on a whim, Ive driven by many times but never stopped. Well today I stopped and let me just say Im so gld I did! I got the pork and chicken combo and it was enough for two meals. The rice is wonderful and the seasoning on the meat, yum. I liked the pork more than the chicken , but both were excellent. They also have an intresting little store and the staff was friendly. Will be going back soon.

This restaurant was such a treat! We are so much at lunch that we were full the rest of the day. It was delightful. We had the pork, the chicken and short ribs. I could eat the short ribs all daaaayyyyyy long. One table to eat at so plan accordingly. Not super kid friendly but kids are welcomed and mine loved the food. We would highly recommend this place- even if it means driving out of your way to make it happen.

My husband, grandson and I went to Ono for our kona coffee and we purchased some extra things. When we tried to pay for it with our card, it was declined several times. the staff was very patient and understanding while we waited for my husband to find an ATM. He even gave us some cookies while we waited. Just wanted to thank you again. We will be back.

First timer and will not be the last time. Greeted in a very friendly manner and got food quickly. Got a combo platter (pork and chicken) and the crack tea. As good as the marinated was, I would go back for the carrot/pineapple slaw all by itself. Recommend checking this place out...carryout is recommended as there are only two small tables to dine in.
