Ive eaten here more than once and while the place is most definitely up scale in the looks and artwork department; When it comes to staff service and bar staff service it ranges between okay and poor. When it comes to food theirs is either undercooked or overcooked; most times the food is also either overseasoned or underseasoned. There are seldom few times that the cooks food wise hit their mark. When it comes to drinks they are usually far too strong or have had way too much ice put in them which then waters down your drinks; Like the cooks, the bartenders here seldom hit their mark when making drinks. However, be happy in the knowledge that if you do not enjoy your food at Coquette Cafe that you can at least fill up on bread and water. Please also note that if your food is poor or you get something other than what you ordered( which they will try and argue with you about) that they do not refund you your money at all. My last statement is that when it comes to their deserts they are extremely overly sugary to the point that if you are a diabetic their deserts will throw you into diabetic shock. Additionally this place does not care if you have any kind of allergies at all as long as they get paid is about all that matters to them.

This was the second time that we went to the restaurant. The first time we went to the restaurant it was fabulous! Lots of appealing specials. This time, there were no entree specials...very disappointing! The appetizer soup was a Chipotle Pork, which I would think would be better suited for a Mexican Restaurant, not a French Restaurant. So, with no entree specials, I ordered the Skate. There were three small pieces of fish on a huge salad. The fish was so salty I couldnt even eat it! So I sent it back and ordered the trout instead. The trout was better, but I believe the cook didnt season it at all. So, I had a rather bland piece of fish on a bed of croutons. Yes, that right. Fish served on croutons. Go figure. Would have been nice with rice or a potato, but dry croutons? Not worth the money. Dont think I will be going back.

The French onion soup was great, very robust flavor. The main course was just OK. The gooey fish skin was not edible and the seasoning on the fish and risotto was a little bland. The desert was very good. It was a key lime pie with a meringue and caramel sauce. I prefer the traditional style, but still very good. I guess when i visit a restaurant and order a $25 dish, i expect it to be the star. Because of my level of expectation, i have given only 3 stars. I did try some dishes of others at my table and they seemed very good. I wouldnt be opposed to trying this place again in the future and adjusting my rating accordingly.

The occasion was a pre theatre dinner after receiving many favorable accounts from friends. I am a life long diner that should have been born in the show-me-state. SHOW ME they did........Cocktails were genrous and perfectly mixed. Dinner of Ravioli for my wife, which she still is talking about to her friends and a Seafood Special (a fish I never heard) was to die for. After dinner we shared a dessert which I believe was a Floating Island. It was extremely light and the sauce was outstanding. With all that being said..........dont miss the opportuinty to let them SHOW YOU.

Both the food and the service were excellent. I require gluten free meals and I relied on my velvet-voiced server to recommend GF wine/food pairings. He did a marvelous job. (Seriously, the guy had the most amazingly deep voice. Plus he was just plain nice. --Nice to work with, kind about my foibles.) Finally, I somehow managed to lose my glasses there and they found them, contacted me and saw them returned to me promptly. I would definitely go there again and am completely confident recommending them to folks venturing into the 3rd Ward.

Weve been here for brunch, dinner and just a night out at BEEMO for a concert. The challenge is to save room for dessert. Cheese plate excellent and elegant. The Eggplant is perfect with just the right amount of cheese. The GoatCheese ravioli are just light and balance well with the veggies. Then for desert theres the desert martini options, chocolate mousse, and the daily bread pudding. Very fun and it solves our parking challenge!

We booked a private room for a life celebration event and were more than pleased. Nick, whom I worked with, coordinated everything perfectly. From the private, personalized menu to helping with entree and appetizer selections. The service staff was outstanding not to mention the food was exquisite. Every attendee raved about their entree and the quaint, sophisticated atmosphere. Thanks Coquette, you made everything spectacular!

Well...not much to say. Other than that the food was very ordinary. The bread was hard enough to play baseball with. I was surprised with the bad food quality, especially with the 4.5 star on Yelp. BTW, I wasnt the only one disappointed with this. My colleague, who happens to also be French, was highly disappointed and had to apologize for his fellow countrymen. All in all. Two thumbs down. Even better than everyone else said it would be! Ask for David the server. His service was flawless, timing was perfect, he was knowledgeable and made wonderful recommendations. I have worked in the hospitality industry all my life and appreciate receiving excellent service. Thank you David for an unforgettable evening! In addition, kudos to the chef the food was as exquisite as Davids service!

We had our wedding reception at Coquette Cafe. The food was marvelous, the service was terrific, and the ambiance was just what we wanted. One of the guests has a peanut allergy and they made a custom meal for her. Several guests raved about the food and plan to come back for business and family events. Thank you, Coquette Cafe!

Went here for my dads 64th birthday with the family. The service was great and the meals were good portion sizes and very tasty. The special, a red snapper dish, was fantastic. It almost tasted like three different seafood dishes in one! Highly recommended for any occasion or a nice dinner out with a loved one.

We just moved to the area and were looking for a place to go for our anniversary. It was amazing. The food and cocktails were phenomenal. Service was excellent. We brought our baby which was no problem. The even gave us a special dessert for our anniversary. We will be taking all of our out of town guests here.

Took about 50 minutes to get our soup, then another 50 minutes to decide to leave because of the lack of service. Our entrees finally showed up a minute after we told them we were leaving, which is suspicious. Their apologies were not sincere and they never took blame, just full of excuses. Not coming back.

Transcendental food. Phenomenal drinks and service. I dont understand how this restaurant could receive anything less than five stars. I live in Chicago and this is my favorite restaurant in the Midwest. If you want to show your taste buds what it means to be alive, order the homemade pumpkin ravioli.

the offer cooking classes, demos with wine pairings every other Tuesday in the summer, each with a different theme, a lot of older couples attend but quite fun date night thing to do. the wine guy was dynamic with knowledge about the wines, the chefs we awkward but in a cute way.
