Im writing this review more from a musicians perspective. I played at this venue as a member of a band a few months back and it was kind of a bad experience. We were one of three bands booked that night, and the venue told us theyd pay us a certain percentage of the till. A little insider tip for musicians... Always be cautious when you hear that the venue pays a percentage of what they make. Because youre not a paid employee of the venue youre not legally allowed to view the till at the end of the night. So you usually end up getting paid next to nothing. Well, I didnt have anything else going on that night so I packed up my instruments and made the drive to Mr. Roberts. The place was packed literally from 9 pm to 1 am and maybe even later. But as expected, at the end of the night each band was paid only $50. To clarify, thats $50 each for the whole band; not each member. A lot of venues like this claim to "support local music" but usually end up paying their bands very, very little no matter how big the crowd is or how much money the bars making. So for musicians... Dont play places like this unless you either dont mind not being paid or you live really close by. Its not worth the time and energy spent practicing, packing up your equipment and making the drive. Im giving it 2 stars because at least the bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly.

Mr. Roberts is a decent place to have a couple drinks and shoot pool. The staff is prettty friendly, and are missing from behind the bar a sometimes when customers come in. They have two pool tables and a spot for live music. The spot for music is pretty small and can tightly fit a band of 7 and equipment. The area to stand and watch the music is small as well. They do not have Wi-Fi and it is hard to get good data inside. Not a bad place if youre checking out local music or changing the pace for the night.

This is just a regular eastside bar, nothing fancy but they support local music so I have to rate them well!I have played there twice with two different bands and will play there again. They are just trying to make it and I credit them with booking bands every week!If they scare away a few yuppies I dont care...

Surly staff, scary patrons, the place is dirty, and although they book local music (sole reason they ended up with two stars instead of one), the space isnt set up well for seeing bands. Youd expect the drinks to be dirt cheap here- wrong.

I was back in Roberts about a month or so ago and theyve moved the stage area and the layout is much improved.
