Overall prices are okay. Stick with sale items and the private label and youll be fine if youre shopping for price. Generally a good selection of products, though they might only carry one brand of some items. Produce is generally okay with the basics. If you want specialty produce, youll likely be out of luck. Deli items look like "typical" grocery deli -- lots of mayo, lots of heavy salads, lots of heavy fried stuff on the tiny hot bar. The layout of the store is weird. I dont understand why there is a wall separating the halves of the store, except they want shoppers to HAVE to walk past more stuff when they otherwise would just grab milk and some basic groceries. All in all, however, it is nice having a "regular" grocery store on the isthmus.

Really nice place that is unlike every other grocery store. Child drop off allows you to put your kid in a supervised play room while you shop. They show the room on large tvs throught the store so you can always checkup on the room to make sure everything is okay. Also they have a small and nice coffee shop, so if you start getting sleepy half way through your grocery list, you can get a caffeine boost. Good selection of cheese (not as good as Hyvees) and a great Make Your Own 6pk selection of beer. Lots of wine and liquour. The staff are abundant and truly friendly and helpful. Always enough lines open so you never have to wait long. Only downside is its a bit overpriced, but thats to be expected

This store is clean and friendly (a little friendly at times) and has covered parking. But the layout is goofy, the selections are small, and the prices are way to high. This store is designed for city life, small and offering the what you need with few choices in brands. And since it is the only major grocery chain in that part of town, you pay for the monopoly it has. I bought less than I normally do and paid more than I normally do for twice the items. If you have no option to get to a better store, then you have to take what you can get. But for everyone else, make the drive to Woodmans or Copps that are 10 minutes away from this money trap.

If you arent willing to pay just a little more to cover the expenses of a store in this close to downtown in order to benefit from the convenience and the ease of parking, well, move along but dont gripe about it. Convenience is a service and you should not expect it to be free! Fresh produce, quality meats, yummy baked goods, great cheese selection, you can bag it yourself to fit a backpack or bike bags if you are walking or biking and they dont rush you away, and cute play room if you want to grab stuff without dealing with young opinions while choosing your food.

Great grocery store thats always stocked and clean. And I have to mention that there are two women who always work the liquor area registers and they are the nicest and most helpful. They always ask I found everything I needed and answer any questions I have. They also work the registers right by the doors which get extremely cold when its freezing outside. They should get paid a little extra for working those registers, am I right?! Cmon people, they deserve it. RAISE! RAISE! RAISE! But in all seriousness, its a great grocery, with great workers.

After having Cap Centre Foods as my only later night grocery shopping option for 10+ years, Im delighted that Festival has opened. The prices on *most* things are much lower, they have a MUCH better selection, and the customer service is great. The veggies and meat we bought two weeks ago were still great tasting last night! My only complaint is they keep running out of the beer I buy, even after I put in two separate requests for them to stock/order more. Liquor department - please double your inventory of Travelers Grapefruit Shandy. <3

The staff are nice. Location is amazing. But...The produce is among the worst in town for freshness and quality. Ive tried a number of fruits that didnt ripen well. Good luck finding something like an heirloom tomato, or locally grown berries, for example, even when theyre in season. Mung bean sprouts are always looking bad. Ive noticed too that meats/fish and some produce are often near or even just past their sell-by or use/freeze-by dates so when shopping here you have to look closely at fresh food exp. dates!

Festival Foods is the grocery store that Ive been waiting for. Downtown Madison has surprisingly few options for grocery shopping, none of them particularly affordable, but Festival fills in that void. The prices are very low, selection is great, and the store has a lot of nice touches. For example, the hand baskets and the self-checkout machine are a pleasure to use. This is probably going to be my go-to for grocery shopping from here on.

Meh. Typical supermarket trying to look like a Wegmans. Limited deli meat and cheese selection. Bakery full of transfats. Meat counter folks treat you like a freak if you asked for thinly sliced meat for Pho or cheesesteaks (the coop on the other hand will bend over backwards for you). On the plus side, it has a large selection of packaged goods and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.

SALE SALE SALE! can be a lot cheaper than that big store that causes everyone so much anxiety, but they have great selection, healthy food awesome deli, salad bar and weekly specials youll say "They cant do that!" Gluten and allergen free foods too. I just wish they had a few more local foods, like a bigger variety of Crystal Farms out of Lake Mills.

The benchmark for all other traditional grocery stores. While living out of state I missed Festival. Friendly staff, well stocked and clean. Need to get your shopping list together or dont want to shop on an empty stomach? Buy a quick snack from the deli, head upstairs to the Mezz, grab a beer and relax.

Wow! What can I say, this place has it all! They have not only great food, but amazing customer service and selection. Definitely check it out if youre looking for a grocery store that will exceed expectations. The meat department, is exceptionally amazing with quality of both employees and selection.

They dont have a large selection of anything but they have done a decent job getting a bit of everything into the footprint of the store. The parking garage wasnt completed yet when we visited and that made for some parking challenges. Hopefully those will subside when the parking garage is finished.

This place was absolutely horrible I expected so much more. The customer service was horrible and the managers did not even interfere when I was clearly having a problem, not only was the service bad but the store was extremely expensive and dirty I was bugs crawling around and I saw a mouse

Excellent sales, good customer service, but largely incoherent layout - I spent a lot of time simply walking around to locate different items as they are not laid out near similar things. Amazing bakery - some of the best donuts around, and in my opinion worth the trip alone.

Great place to shop for groceries. The Mez Bar upstairs is an underrated place to watch a sporting event. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. Some of the best produce in town. Prices are reasonable as well. Awesome liquor store with a huge selection.
