My family planned a small brunch to take place at this eatery after my parents had moved back to town. It was supposed to be for old time sake, as we always ate there growing up. Before we even got to taste the (horrible) food, we were hassled by the MOD there while we were trying to pay before we even sat down. All we wanted to do was pay for our other guest who were in route to the restaurant. However the manager there continuously told my mother he would not let her pay for my siblings before they got there. Both my mother and I explained MORE THAN ONCE that our other family members would be there shortly, this still did not discourage the manager from telling my mother that if they did not show up (though we told him there were 15 minutes away) he would not refund her money because it would "look bad on him". Then when we asked if there was somewhere we could sit and wait for them to arrive he told us no and that the seating area was for paying customers. Strange. We had just tried paying but that was also not allowed apparently. Poor customer service (trust me I work retail I know how you are SUPPOSED to treat customers) I dont remember his name, I do recall that he had an accent though. Safe to say my family will never be eating there again. Have never been treated so poorly, or paid so much to eat food that tasted horrible. Do yourself a favor, go to a Golden Corral or somewhere nice with your family. This place is full of rude staff. Im surprised someone with that much lacking in people skills made it to management. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO THERE!!

After eating here I was actually offended that this place is even allowed to serve the food they do. Every last thing except the salad bar is either frozen, from a can, or from a box. Instant grainy mashed potatoes, depressing gray-green green beans, stuffing that looks like puked up cornbread, and all of it bland, bland, bland. There wasnt enough salt, pepper, or hot sauce in the world to give that mess flavor. Even the meat was bland and flavorless. And I tried quite a few things on the menu. The only things with flavor were the things that came preseasoned like the waffle fries, and even a new batch of those was soggy and lifeless. And how expensive! Are you seriously making two people pay $36 for a meal you could make by walking across the street to Walmart and paying $10? And this shouldnt even have been old food! I came in at eleven on the dot right when lunch started, but this stuff was probably sitting around in fridges for hours or God forbid days before that. I used to be in the military and almost every dining facility Ive eaten at was better than this. Some MREs are better than this. I have never before been so offended by a restaurant to write a review like this. I really should have demanded a refund, but instead, as Im an Uber/Lyft driver, Ill just tell every passenger I can to never, ever eat here. What a mess. I hope it shuts down soon so a good restaurant can use that good location.

Absolutely awful. NEVER GO HERE if you dont want to get sick. I have noticed the steady decline of this location and restaurant. This last time was the LAST time I will go, or take any of my family or friends to this location. My boyfriend works in culinary and we were absolutely appalled at the quality of the food. I almost raised a ruckus and demanded my money back (which is sometime I have NEVER wanted to do) but I do want to warn anyone else against this unsanitary, unfresh, health hazard of a restaurant. I dont know if its been under new management for the last couple of years, but someone from that office needs to read this... All of the food hadnt been refreshed in I dont know how long, the pizza for my son was like rubber, the salads were brown and soggy, the lady behind the meat section violated health codes by putting a steak that a customer thought was too big back from her plate using tongs, slapped in on the carving board and proceeded to cut a smaller piece from this one, give some back to the customer and keep the rest to be served to someone else!!!! Absolutely appalled!!! The desserts were old and disgusting, the cups and dinnerware were crusty, like someone had put away a big batch of unwashed cutlery without checking. Geez... just remembering our experience makes me sick to my stomach. Im just thankful nobody got sick or food poisoned this time around. BE WARNED.

it has a relaxed atmosphere. i think the food is actually pretty good. and theres a large amount of food to choose from, but the problem i see everytime i go there is really dirty dishes. im serious, it appears to be around 99% of the dishes are dirty, and its not just a few specs. just lift the plates up to the light, and youll see what looks like transparent film blotches all over them. it looks similar to dried mashed potatoes or dried milk or something. and you can actually easily feel the food blotches on the plates too. plus i never see anyone wash there hands before they grab the serving tongs, i mean who knows if someone picked their nose, or scratched there anus before they grabbed those tongs? but to be fair im sure youll encounter dirty tongs at just about every buffet, i mean what are you gonna do, demand that everyone wash their hands before they serve themselves? and i used to wash dishes, and sometimes the dishwasher doesnt clean very well. but on the other hand i encountered dirty dishes everytime i went there, and you would think that someone would notice by now, and fix the problem?

Ive been a fan of Hometown for years (20Plus), Ive enjoyed the waitress and become friends with many of them. For years now Ive gone there because the food wasnt bad and the price was favorable. A while back they decided to start charging for your drink., I wasnt happy about that but continued to eat there. Then the price was bumped up, and then again, I joined the club so I would get the coupons and a free birthday dinner. Those have been nice, however, they started to control the portions, got skimpy with the steak, roast., started dishing up the deserts in little bowls, the steak went away and the started feeding you portioned beef in cheap veggies. The salad bar started to falter with weak lettuce. If it wasnt for the waitress I wouldnt go back., It doesnt matter what coupon you have, somehow theyll pump it up so its almost the same price if you hadnt used a coupon. Very sad day for my friends and family.

My family ate here all the time when I was growing up; however, the food quality has DRASTICALLY decreased over the years and now I struggle to find enough things I like to fill myself up despite it being a buffet. 1 Star Edit: The food quality has dropped even more, and its a challenge to even get clean silverware! I found myself sifting through the silverware to try to find something clean looking, but had to settle for splotchy and wiping it down myself a little. I tried eating a taco shell with nacho cheese because they had no nachos left, and dear lord I regret it. It tasted like itd sat in a cellar for a year. I cant believe how bad it tasted, especially considering how it LOOKED fine. As I try more foods I get more and more disappointed. I dont even need to try the "carrot" cake, as the carrot drawn on top in frosting is a scarlet red.
