We have come here pretty frequently and always loved it, until last night. The worst experience ever! First off, I made a reservation beforehand knowing it was going to be a busy night, and we got there and they said they had no reservation for us. So we waited for a table, got sat and ordered drinks and tacos. When our food came out, I tasted the chicken tacos and it was disgusting. The chicken tasted like itd been microwaved and had fat pieces all over it. So I didnt eat my tacos, and when the waitress came back to check I informed her that I didnt like the tacos and they didnt taste like they usually did. To which she replied "theyre made the same every week so...." and stared at me. So I said ok can I just get two beef ones instead please. She took my plate, and that was the last we saw of her. We waited 15 minutes with empty glasses, my boyfriend finally went up to the bar and tried to order drinks for the table, which they wouldnt allow unless every single person got up and went up to the bar with their IDs. So we asked another waitress to find our waitress and let her know we wanted refills. She never asked how my second tacos were or checked on us at all after the first time. She brought our drink refills, and we asked for our tabs. My boyfriend had taken a sip of his drink in the mean time, and I noticed there was lipstick on the rim of his glass. So when she came back with the checks, we informed her and she said "that sucks Im sorry." No offer to get him a new glass to pour his beer into or get him a new beer or anything at all. Then we look at the check and shes charged us for the chicken tacos AND the beef tacos even though I sent the first ones back! So I circled them on the receipt so that she would see the error, and put the card below it. Nope, she still charged us for the full amount. Wont be coming back here any time soon!!

Awful. The bar tender was so rude to us. It was a little crowded when we went and there was a short line for the bar. When it was our turn I asked if I could have a taste of one of the beers before deciding. The bar tender told me and my boyfriend "Alright guys chop-chop, theres a lot of people in here and we need to hurry up." We werent even lingering at the bar we had literally just gotten up there to order. He also didnt fill our friends beers completely, he served them drinks that looked like they were half gone already. The hostess was rude to my boyfriend when he asked about seating in the back room area. The service was awful; we had to stop another server to ask where ours was because we hadnt seen her in so long. There are plenty of other places in Vancouver whose bartenders are nice and actually want to help you choose a good beer, and not tell you to hurry up even though youve just got there. The food was good, but again there are better places to get a good beer and food in the area. Im really disappointed and I dont think I will ever come back.

This place seems like it would be more at home in Portland than the Couv, but all the better for Vancouver. Beer is passable but not extraordinary. Bartender probably shouldnt assume that dreds mean "Grateful Dead fan"--led to a pretty awkward encounter The hanging bridge-esque tapline is one of the coolest taplines Ive ever seen. Atmosphere has a bit of a mismatch between the name and the expectations it conjures versus reality. From the name, I expected a bit of a "metal" aesthetic. Reality was it felt much like a sports bar, from the music (lite pop) to the decor to the food selection. Also, a total nitpick, and I realize theyre previous beers, but the art on the wall being previous beer labels (that werent even on the menu)? Kinda tacky, but thats just subjective opinion. Summary: A lot of potential that can be realized. Still a nice place to sit down and have a few.

We were First timers.. Great beer, great food,... poor service.. 30 min to get a table which is acceptable, we go to the bar to get a beer while we waiting, my girlfriend wants to try one of the beers before we order and bartender goes "come on we have a lot of people lets hurry up chop chop!" ... that was rude.. we get a table and I think our server had more tables than she can handle, she started by taking our appetaizers order and then she just disappeared we had to ask another Server if she seen our server.. the one star is for service .. food was amazing and beer was great .. I recommend this place but you have to suffer through the rudeness and poor service

Meh. Foods alright. Nothing to draw one back, for sure. Overpriced and not particularly tasty. Service was passably adequate. Id pretty much decided "once was enough!", although Id probably have accepted an invitation had a friend really wanted to go there again. Then new information arrived... Discovering that some tiny fraction of the bill helped fund Donald Trumps election campaign just made me feel dirty. Sure, everyones free to support whomever they choose, but they need to be prepared to be judged for such choices. #NeverTrump #NeverHeathenAgain

Excellent selection of beer and ciders. Among the best. Food is good, but nothing noteworthy. Lackluster service. Often waiting to place drink order at bar and have decided to scrap a purchase therefore. And the beer prices outside of happy hour are a little steep. For winter the dark motif is OK but in summer the black interior feels like a dungeon. This should improve w expansive outdoor patio. I avoid being inside the place on a nice day but the expansive beautiful patio area would get my interest.

Great place. Very cute girls, great beer, and very friendly. They are not over bearing, and will give you your space. Did not try the food, but will try that next. Will be going back for sure. Anyone that likes good beer should come and try it out. The sampler is great. Tell them what you like, and they will bring what you wanted without telling them. Hmmm what else. Great prices. 35 bucks for 7 4oz tasters and a shirt. You cannot beat that price.

Its too bad they have so many TeeVees and play horrid music, and the general ascetic of their brand is - so bad. BUT, their beer is really good. The styles of beer they offer are much more sophisticated than what their brand would lead you to believe. I enjoyed tatsting so many of their brews. Wish the atmosphere was more intimate, but I intend to go back - just for the beer - when my husband is too "distracted" to object.

I havent been back since they recently did a slight remodel but Heathen has some top notch beers on tap, a great selection of food and beverages and excellent service. The food is good, not great....the brussel sprouts and the pretzel are excellent. The mac and cheese is interesting, most of the dishes are a little heavy but its bar food and goes great with beer :-) great spot, amazing Vancouver beer.
