"This pub is excellent for a basic menu and wonderful customer service. They were easy to work with on a the eggs benedict as I have dietary restrictions that prevent me from eating ham. They had no qualms about switching out that for some grilled broccoli. The broccoli was the best Ive had in a restaurant....tender crisp with the grilled flavor. The hollendaise suace was bland though. It tasted like mayo and egg yolk. I hope they work on improving that. The yolks were overdone (well for me personally...I like them runny and I realize not everyone does and they probably dont want to risk food poisoning). Despite those shortcomings, I ate my meal happily. My dh and I played some pool, as we were there on a weekday morning, so there was no compition. They appear to have a fully stocked beer list along with some hard mixed drinks. The waitress was all smiles, bubbly and as friendly as possible without being overly-friendly. We rarely give twenty percent tips...she received one. Prices are average from what I have seen. Two meals and two drinks came up to $35. Scary as it is, thats average around here. Granted, we didnt get cheap soda types. We got more expensive fancy tea. Overall I recommend this place whole-heartedly....just keep in mind it is only street parking and it is part of downtown Portland."

I brought my children and my pregnant girlfriend in today to eat. As soon as we ordered our meals the television above the bar changed to Bizarre Eats. While I have no problem generally with the show, we were sitting down to eat and the program was displaying a person eating bugs and then blowing up deflated intestines to make hand made sausage. As this was visually revolting, I asked the server if he wouldnt mind changing the channel. He apologized and went over to the bar and asked the older, red-haired bartender to switch channels. Not only did she refuse, she began to audibly mock us for asking. I walked over and asked the bartender personally to change the channel and she laughed, refusing again informing me, that "theyre just making sausage, and we dont change the channel here." I was about to tell her to just wrap our food up to go, when she mocked me and my family again for making the request. At that time I tuned to the cook and told him to cancel the entire order. I will NEVER again patronize this restaurant, and I will repeat this story to every single person I can to spread word about this unprofessional and unacceptable experience. Kenton Station is NOT a family friendly restaurant, in fact, it is not a friendly eatery at all.

Im relatively new to portland. I found this place to be friendly.great food and service. Like cheers the classic TV show. THE MAIN FEATURE PEACE IS A 9 FT CLASSIC POOL table. FOR some mistaken reason they have chosen to put a cheese top on it. With history of how the owners made thisplace. And they compare them selves to a cheers type of bussiness. BUT by choosing to cover the main show peace. And denied regular ordinary people that have grown a customer what Kenton station set out become.. have lost there ability to stay a cheers type establishment. And has allowed them selves to lower there standards and are now just another bar. With TV and food.. those places are a dime a dozen...I can only appeal to others that share this feeling and help me to wake up the owners To see the tragic mistake.. they have an opportunity. To sell privilege rights to a select group of men. That can play on this fabulous grand table.. and everyone is a winner. Ty

I really enjoy Kenton Station; I live a few blocks away, and its my go-to for happy hour after an exhausting day at work. I mean, its not a gourmet gastopub burger, but its a damned good one, and the fries are quite solid. Youll find great microbrews on tap as well. The five stars arent for the stellar food, but for the friendly staff and atmosphere. Moreover, the history of the place is quite cool. The building used to be a hotel (/brothel) for workers at the mill in the early 1900s, and housed a speakeasy and an illegal fight club in the basement during Prohibition. The former world welterweight boxing champion ran the club, and a cool little ghost tour (free of charge) gets into that history.

One of my favorite four places to go in North Portland for happy hour. The microbrew pints are only $3 between 3 - 6. For $3.50 you can get a wonderful large burger or a grilled cheese with ham. For a buck extra you can get a side of fries. Casual. Laid back. The games are always on. Video poker is removed from the rest of the restaurant. Free Wi-Fi. A couple of the wait staff are fantastic and the rest are always attentive. Im always surprised how low the check turns out to be when delivered. Beautiful wood bar like something out of Cheers.

My daughters planned a Birthday party for me. They choose Kenton because a couple of friends and I meet there once a month. Meet with the morning chef to make plans for the night and the party was a great hit. There were about 25 people and they were about to accommodate the group. Everyone had a great time. Everyone loved the food, wings were a big hit, the service was great, from the cook to the servers making sure drinks flowed. If youd like a great neighborhood gathering place (kid friendly) give it a go. Id plan something there again.

I can only speak for my breakfast experience at this place...my omelet was literally inedible. I had to go into the bathroom to psyche myself up not to puke. The execution of the omelet was fine, it looked fairly tasty, but the ingredients seemed to be the lowest/cheapest grade out there. My coffee was watery and gross. The potatoes were the only thing on the plate I could eat. The service and atmosphere were fine, just dont make the same mistake I did with the omelet (I still gag and cringe thinking about it!).

This is the best bar in Portland to be a regular at. The evening bartenders are a hilarious show in themselves, while still remaining gracious and on top of it. Good drinks, excellent bar fare (I would look at the daily specials before ordering, theyre as good as home cooked) and a continuous stream of interesting local characters. Youre not supposed to have favorites, but the Adele look-a-like bartender is my fave. And, last but not least, always a fair drink...
