Hello!I just moved here about week ago, and thought I just try some of the local pizza. Pizza is one of my favorites food, and you would think almost every restaurant who sells pizza would know how to make it right? Wrong! I heard about this place through contacts and reading its review which lead me towards trying this place out. When I called today to ask for a deliver of a medium size pizza with extra cheese and sausage, the guy a who answered seemed a little reluctant to even serve me. After handling payment and other inquries, the guy who answered told me that it was going to be about a 45 minute wait before I could get the pizza that I ordered. So now 55 minutes have passed until the delivery guy arrives with my order. After I say thanks I begin to open the box to only find that half of my pizza had no cheese and meat. To add on to that when I tried to pick up a slice that had the meat and cheese on it, the cheese and meat just slipped right off. Now, Im a flustered. So I calmly call back to tell them the issue at hand. The lady who answered talked with her manager and only told me that my options at that point was to get half off on my next purchase or to receive half of my money back from this order. Feeling like there was no other way to handle this situation without incident, I just chose to get half of my money back. However, I not be going back to this place.

Abella Pizzeria is nice tiny pizza place along Pacific Ave, conveniently located just off the 21st Street exit as your coming into Tacoma from 705 or 509. They sell pizza by the slice as well as full pizzas. Their slices are fairly large, and they always have a variety to choose from in terms of toppings. Outside of pizza, this place also sells some great sandwiches - which are well worth the premium over the Subway down the street. The shop itself is pretty tiny, and due to its proximity to the University and the Tacoma School of Arts, it gets pretty packed at lunch time. The high-school kids from the art school I would describe as quirky and nice, but this isnt the type of place to have a business lunch meeting. Service is very good, and the staff is friendly and move quickly through the occasional long lines. If your looking for a quick slice, a great sub, or even a good salad, I cant recommend this place highly enough.

Its okay. To quote my brother, its not terrible; however, my husband disagreed and said he never wants it again. My sense of taste is far superior to his and Ill say its okay. The toppings were tasty but the crust was a solid mediocre and the sauce made the same impression. The service was very good. The people were all very nice which is why it pains me to have to give mediocre rating. Unfortunately when it comes to the pizza, which is the key element one is really looking for when ordering from a pizza place, the word is Mediocre. If you want nice people and pizza that will satisfy your hunger making you not want more then this is your place.

I mean, wow! The whole experience was amazing! I ordered a large meat lovers for pickup. The young lady on the phone was really nice and a bit witty! I am from Ohio so finding them was a challenge but that was mainly due to my lack of knowedge of the area. My pizza was ready and I took it home and this was quite possibly one of the best pizzas I have ever had! It was hot and the blend of spices were amazing! The crust was good! I am here until the end of July and I will definitely order here again!

All you need to know is that the Calzone is on point. Plenty of cheese including some very fresh tasting Ricotta and its more than enough for two people. Pizza slices arent bad. During the lunch time rush, quality slips a little but the price, size of the slice, and high quality of the cheese and other toppings they use make up for the small issues with appearance or baking times. UWT students, you owe it to yourself to walk down here and grab some pizza or a delicious calzone.

Great sauce, great dough, and great toppings. I love the people here. I love the setting. The chicken parmesan sandwich is my favorite in the PNW. My favorite thing about this place other than the top notch pizza and the great staff is that they dont have any TVs. People come here and you actually see them (*gasp*) talking to each other. Go here during lunch for cheap slices (not available after 1pm). Come here for huge delicious salads. Just go here. You wont be dissappointed.

I ate here for the first time today, and I loved it! The staff are very attentive and friendly, the food hot and fresh and delicious. They also have pizza by the slice for sale at a certain time for $3, and the slices are a pretty good size. The pasta was slightly undercooked for my taste, but it in no way took away from the meal. I will eat here again for sure if Im in the mood for good pasta and pizza between classes.

This is by far the best pizza place in Puyallup and Tacoma. The prices cant be beat for the quality of food and service. This is sort of a little "hole in the wall" but is very impressive! They even have pizza by the slice during the lunch hours. They even let you make a pizza with two different kinds of sauce. I believe they also have a thinner crust, too. They sell salads and subs as well. Check it out!

8/25/14 Just happened into this eatery before the Eagles concert and was so impressed with the pizza. Its not heavy on sauce, all the ingredients were fresh cut, the dough was fully baked and the crust was delicious. I find this style hard to find. The brewery next door was packed & no acoustics. We did not sit in the main room, but a large vestibule with cooler temps & quieter. Great find.

It was amazing, probably my favorite pizza place, the calzone is big enough to fill a person up easily and tastes great too. The prices were pretty good as well especially for being downtown. The service there is great too. The only reason I dont have it as a 5 star is because of one or two experiences, but over all great

Abella has THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER EATEN. EVER. I feel terrible if Im in Tacoma and I eat pizza that is not from Abellas because, I mean, whats the point of eating some semi-delicious pizza when you could be having the best-tasting pizza on earth? You only have so much time left on this planet!
