This is the kind of Chinese restaurant that creates negative stereotypes about the. Im sure people are aware of the "meat plates filled with vegetables" reputation that many Chinese places have? This is one of those places. Last night, my friends and I ordered from Uptown. We got pot stickers, spring rolls, Mongolian beef, General Tsos chicken, and the cashew prawns, along with some fried rice. All of the meat dishes were pathetically small. For more than $13, the General Tsos came with 6 pieces of meat. The Cashew prawns was even worse; $15+ for 8 medium sized prawns and a boatload of vegetables. The Mongolian beef was no better. Again, small in size. The rice was more substantial, but hardly enough for what was charged at $11. This might have been forgivable if the food quality and care actually represented the small portions. Only, it didnt. The kind of food served at Uptown reminds me of frozen Chinese food anyone can go buy at a grocery store. All in all, my friends and I spent more than $90 on food. We ordered 12 pot stickers, 6 spring rolls, the meat dishes mentioned above, and some fried rice. We barely each got a single full plate of food. This place is disgustingly over priced and provides subpar portion sizes (I cant stress this enough, Uptown should be embarrassed by how small their portion sizes are). Go to any other Chinese place besides this one. This was pathetic.

I love the Lo Mein here because its done the way I like that not many restaurants seem to want to emulate nearby... however this was just completely inexcusable. The photo attached is of their Twice Cooked Pork... which contained about 8 pieces of pork total along with about 10 pounds of stir fry veggies. When I order a meat dish... Im usually expecting the meat to play a heavy role in the dish. This here looks like I ordered a cabbage stir fry and some pork belly fell into the dish by accident. Might I also mention the pork DEFINITELY was not twice cooked, and if it was then it was very poor "twice cooked pork." It was just as chewy as boiled or stir fried pork generally gets... Just really tired of seeing Chinese restaurants pull these kinds of maneuvers just because they rack up a crazy profit margin for them. Again, I want to mention its a shame because this place at least gets its Lo Mein dishes right (for me anyway), because they taste great and come with plenty of meat (even if its a little pricey for what you get). A little greasy, but still. I recommend coming here if you like good Lo Mein and easy appetizers; dont recommend getting much else if you want your moneys worth.

Terrible food and even worse customer service. Our first experience at Up Town China resulting in having to send one of the dishes back... it was literally the consistency of shoe leather. We eat out regularly and are NOT picky, uptight patrons at all. As a matter of fact, Ive only sent food back one other time in my life (because it was undercooked). Ok, so maybe this was just a fluke, so a couple months later we decide to give Uptown China a second chance and had some food delivered. Boy was that a mistake! We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and instead recieved, well... Im not sure what it was, but it definitely wasnt Kung Pao Chicken! We politely called and told them about the mistake and requested that they credit us back for the cost of the "mystery meat" we clearly didnt order. They refused. After 15 minutes of arguing we finally hung up in frustration. Its amazing that a place like this can even stay in business. Eat at Uptown China at your own risk!

Disgusting doesnt even begin to cover the food I ordered from here last night!! Ive ordered from here before and dont recall it being this foul. I should have known something was up when I called and got hung up on three times before getting through. I arrived to terrible, terse customer service... I had ordered string beans but they put sauteed spinach in my bag, when I told them thats not what I ordered the cashier seemed pissed that I wasnt going to pay for it. Got the food home and opened it up, to find that the "almond chicken" was a highly processed breaded fatty chicken burger cut into slices.. so that went right into the trash. The rest of the food was mediocre and the sweet and sour pork tasted like fried fish and was pretty much huge chunks of fat. The only thing that was reasonable was the fried rice... I ended up throwing most of it away. All for $57!!! NEVER AGAIN!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! My family and I were staying in Seattle for two nights and decided to order chinese food. we had it delivered and the bill came to over $60!!! we told them in advance that we were going to be paying cash but when he arrived he did not have change for us! we spent over ten minutes trying to find him exact change. This had already started off the night poorly! Finally after that fiasco we eat the food and it was terrible, especially especially after what we paid! I do not recommend the sweet and sour pork, the salt and pepper chicken wings or the lo mein! If you like chinese food, I can guarantee you will not after eating here!

I have been looking for good Chinese food since coming to Seattle and Ive finally found it! Lats night I was on my way to a meeting and I had about 20 minutes. I popped in because The smell wafting down the block was to good to ignore. I ordered the items I judge every Chinese restaurant by, their spring rolls and house rice. Wow! Both were incredible and I am currently eating the leftover rice for lunch because the portion was so big. I have to say I was especially impressed with the spring rolls. They were so crisp and flaky and the flavor was simple but incredible. I will be going here again!

I am a Chinese guy, lives in Seattle. read some of the reviews before going to this place, and wanna have some first hand experience. The waiter/waitress are polite and quick to answer questions. I ordered "beef chao fun" and it was good. Over all, I must admit that it is a decent Chinese restaurant with decent food. The price per dish is between $12-$15. The restaurant is relatively clean, and the bathroom is clean also (I often look at the bathroom to make sure whether or not a restaurant is clean or not: if the bathroom is clean, its kitchen probably is clean also, and vise versa)

Absolutely will not be coming back. As we tried to pay and leave, our waitress demanded a higher tip. Our total was $44 and half was paid with cash, the rest on a card. I tipped only $3 on the card initially because our service was bad and the waitress was rude the entire time. As I handed the receipt back, she told me that I needed to tip based on the total ($44), not just the portion in the card - basically calling me out on leaving a small tip. Ive never had someone do that and that disrespect just added on to her already bad service throughout our meal. Good way to lose customers.

Ok food, not great! all food tasted pretty much the same! Pretty good customer service only reason I give it a 2 is because one of the guys, who didnt even service us, walked up to me at the exit door and asked me if I "had left a tip" I said, "no" and he still asked "why not" I said no loose cash then he asked me if I still wanted to!!! by then I was so embarrassed that I didnt want to any more! The only reason was that it was so expensive the only Cash I had went to paying for food $142 for 8 plate of food and my husband had already left with the cards and he didnt even eat anything!
