The Patrons of J&M Cafe should be aware of who they are supporting by patroning this establishment. The long and short of it, for years now the owner of J&M has been stealing child support payments from families & children. THE SITUATION: The owner has lined his own pockets by garnishing over $15k in wages from an individual under his employ and failing to send the $$ to the family. Thats $15k worth of food out of a childs mouth, clothes off their back, presents out from under their tree, and $$ out of their future education. Whats more, it appears that this modern day Grinch has done this to several of his employees and their families spanning several years. You can imagine how the actions of this louse of an individual and the business he runs have placed enormous, unnecessary financial stress on families. If the food, drinks, and atmosphere are representative of the slime-ball human being that owns this establishment - then the beer tastes like a hungry childs tears, the wings are as cold as a child needing a winter jacket, the burgers are as greasy and tasteless as the owners character, and the atmosphere is as sad as a childs birthday party with no presents. The Bottom line, if you continue to frequent J & M, just know that every $1 you spend is a $1 at the expense of children and families everywhere.

Holy moly, Mia was our bartender and also the sole reason I will never return. In a business of hospitality, this womens salty attitude and unadequate communicational skills completely ruined my experience with such a cornerstone bar downtown. MIA, a word to you if you hopefully read this, if you hate your job, find another, please dont take your hateful resentment toward you employment establishment on the patrons supporting and funding your paychecks. As a business owner myself, I urge all my employees to take pride in there work and show the customer the respect they deserve. If MIA hadnt treating myself and 4 other friends with such disrespect and lack of compassion I problem would have recommended this establishment. employees are the face of the company, and I would never let someone as self entitled and rude treat my customers they way I was tonight on Saturday April 10th 2016. Thanks for being rude, and losing your employee money and future business MIA. For the bars sake I hope your job is MIA(missing in action)

Was Here for the playoff game between the panthers. Crowded to say the least; but then again what else would you expect. lol. Walked in with a few friends (group of 6) and the waitress (wish i could remember her name) was probably the best Ive ever had in seattle! Not only did she manage to accommodate us but she also was prompt on whatever needs or questions we had. The atmosphere was amazing. Oh and the pizza...well lets just say that we were definitely surprised at how good they were. Ive never had a plain pepperoni pizza taste that good! Had such a good experience and J&M cafe definitely has won us over. So much so that well be seeing them again this sunday! btw we are all recently college alumni; there are plenty of places we could go to..but none with this atmosphere.

If you like jazz, you need to come here. If you like to hang out in a cool setting with friends, and have some good drinks (at a good price) and good food (also at a good price), then you have to come here as well. Fridays and Saturdays are always crazy nuts here, but for a good reason. They pump out drinks at the bar so quickly so you wont be waiting in line for a very long time. Their staff is also super nice too, always walking around looking to get empty glasses and plates out of the way and asking if you want more. This is a great place to start or end your night if you venture down towards Pioneer Square.

This bar is the oldest bar in Seattle. Based off of the service we received, I am not sure how it had stayed open this long. Our server took forever to take our initial drink order, she thrn refused to take our food order with it (we had been waiting long enough to make our decision). Then she didnt ring in our drinks, and only did after we asked where they were (roughly 10 minutes later) Then when the food came, it was cold. They should use the tagline "J&M: Seattles oldest bar, serving cold food and warm been for decades"

Outside setting was a little iffy. Tables were covered in a sticky mess and we have to venture inside several times in order to get service. Once we finally got our food and drinks, everything was top notch. the sloppy Joe sliders were great, burgers were great and the fresh cut fries were excellent. When we finished our meal we again had to hunt to find someone in order to get our tab. Then chase someone down to pay. If they could get the outside service fixed this would be a great place. Still 4 starts for great food.

Its been around longer than I have! Very popular and happening... incredible food and Buffalo hot wings... friendly, happy staff...and when I havent showed up to watch a game...have walked into the bar to find that they have live music too! Back when Marshawn Lynch played for the Seahawks: J&M bar did us a solid and allowed my daughter to bug, pester, and terrorize. I believe its no kids after 9 not positive on the time. ;) J&M just gives off good vibes

Must have been short staffed the Sunday I was there before a Sounders home match because the service took unusually long, even when they had a reduced game day menu. It took 15 minutes to order, 35 minutes to get three simple game day meals, and when I asked for a second beer we took the 20 minutes to pay our check before it came. Great food though. Needs more reliable servers though.

This place is a joke. Unless you are planning on getting drunk dont go here. The place is dirty. We sat at a table that was filthy. There were no other people seated to eat. No excuse why the tables werent clean We walked out after 10min of no service. The bartender saw us but never came to the table. She was so bizarrely dressed it was nasty. The place smelled like pot!

Loved this place. Had a horrible experience. Ate with some friends, and the CCard was declined due to bank error. Next thing you know our waiter (Mike) started screaming, threatening cursing and insulting us in the middle of the bar. We were able to straighten out the card issue and paid the bill....no apology, not sure if well go back again

We had wonderful service, delicious food and good drinks before a Mariners game. I had the Sloppy Joe sliders, my husband had chicken wings and we split an order of fries. We also had ice cream and a root beer float. Its a fun atmosphere and I didnt know it was the oldest bar in Seattle. Well definitely return if we come back to the city.

Great beer specials on game day, and service was fast and friendly! Located close to Safeco Field so its a great place to grab some grub before a game. It has a very "Bar" type feel to it. Dim lighting, stage for music, and pool table in the back room, though it was out of order due to a rip in the surface at the time we were there.
