Seriously good, and seriously pricey. This place has been on my list for a while, but that damn line! Well my friend and I happened to hit it at around 9pm so it was at the tail end of prime dinner hour, so the wait was only like 30-35 minutes. Plus they take down your cell number so youre free to roam about while you wait. Once we were seated I was struck by the cool but homey atmosphere. We were seated at one of the high tables in the back which was a good vantage point from which to view the relaxed and jovial patrons enjoying their pizzas. Since we werent too terribly hungry we just split the Penn Cove Clams pizza (also featuring house pancetta and chilies). For like smallish-medium oblong-shaped pizza it was $18, so the pricey part I mentioned earlier. It was excellent, dont get me wrong, with plenty of juicy clams, but this is one of those fancy pizza joints, mkay? I do love the crusts of pizzas that are cooked in wood-burning ovens, so chewy and substantial yet somehow light enough for me to eat it all (Im a notorious crust-leaver of pizzas, in general). Washed down with a pint of craft brew, it was a near-perfect meal. I wish Id had enough room to try one of their dessert pizzas, but I guess Ill have to save that for next time! The service was good but not exceptional. Is it worth a visit? Yes, but do remember about the wait and peruse their menu online to see if they have something thatll be worth your $$. If you love the more traditional pizzas you may be disappointed.

When in Seattle this is a must stop. The place is small (Id say around 50 people or so) and it can probably get a bit noisy, but we where there on a Friday early afternoon (4.30-5.30pm) and it wasnt that bad (we got a table right away). It can probably get crowded (people were standing in line outside when we were leaving), so try coming in earlier or make a reservation or get a take out. The menu is short, so you wont need to complicate things too much, though once you try one pie, youll wanna try all of them (at least thats what happened with us). We ordered 3 half pizzas, it was happy hour and you can get them for $6, otherwise they can be a bit pricey ($14 per one, but its Seattle, I got worse and more expensive in San Francisco): Mushroom Pizza, Prosciutto Pizza and Potato Pizza (I never thought that would work). The half size is 4 slices (2 normal slices) so order more if you are the hungry type. All of them were fantastic. The crusts are thin and crispy on the edges. The toppings are creative and make an awesome combo for your taste buds. Just writing this review is making my mouth water again! :) I did not get a good look at their wine/beer list, but I remember the choice was similar to pies, small but efficient. They do have desserts, but they are small, so if youre coming in just for that Id suggest you go somewhere else, cause thats not the point of this place. Nevertheless, loved it! Definitely coming back when we get a chance to go back to Seattle.

This place came recommended, and after waiting an hour for a spot for two people, I was expecting more then it delivered. The restaurant had no bar, so we had to wait across the street to enjoy a drink while waiting for a table. Once we were seated, I was surprised at how cramped we were. There is no table privacy as you basically share tables with other guests… it was almost like a smug version of a beer hall, but people didn’t communicate outside of their parties. We could hear the conversation on both sides of us, and they could easily hear and ease drop on ours. Regardless, the place was packed and the atmosphere sold me was “unique,” thus I didn’t initially think to negatively upon it. Once we started to get our drinks and food, the small-shared tables proved inadequate and annoying. The food itself wasn’t anything amazing. The specialty pizzas didn’t taste very special; unique toppings that were oddly mixed and proved to be over-priced and unfulfilling. While this place was an experience and over hyped, it was relatively decent. I wouldn’t recommend this place, but wouldn’t steer guests away either.

This is the best review I have ever given any place in my whole entire life. This review is going to be so good and biased that Serious Pie should highly consider putting this in a magazine. This pizza is heaven. Your journey has finally ended in the search for the worlds best pizza. Say and think no further, you are at your destination. If you must attempt to find better pizza, you will fail at every attempt in your life. Yes, you are here. You have made it. The best pizza. Some Serious Pie. My mouth was watering by the mere sight of the sign outside. The smells of the pizza oven made my arm hairs rise. This pizza is 100% magic. I want to know how to make this pizza. The artistry is magnificent. If they cooked the pizza 5 seconds longer, it would not be good; but this is not the case. People, this pizza...oh my...this pizza...I want to BE this pizza. You need some Serious Pie. Just get it. **UPDATE: I called to see if they did reservations; sad news is they dont, good news is the lady answered the phone so quick that my phone didnt even get past the first ring. Continually impressed with this place.**

Not pedestrian pizza. This is your grandmothers pizza. Your aged Sicilian grandmother who happens to have a buffalo farm... You know what, lets start over. You can call Serious Pie a pizza place, but you need to understand that the only similarity to, say, a New York style pizza is that its got bread, and sometimes it has tomato sauce, and it often has cheese. Other than that, youve got a wide variety of toppings: arugula, potatoes, peppers, sausage...overall, less focus on the greasy aspects of pizza and more on showcasing awesome toppings. The seating isnt wonderful; you have bar chairs and high tables, placed relatively close together. Given the size of the place, this is unavoidable, but you might want to try the South Lake Union location instead if you have the option. The wait staff is mostly out of your hair, which means you might occasionally need to flag someone down to get service. While a tad pricey, I think its well worth it, on occasion at least.

Serious Pie isnt pizza in the traditional sense. There isnt mixing and matching of toppings. Im going with a two star rating for a few reasons. One, the seating is shared so you are required to sit next to strangers. Two, the wait staff subscribes to the Seattle server mentality that being aloof and a little rude is cool. My waitress during my visit was generally cold and inattentive. Third, and this is more of a personal preference, the toppings are a bit weird. On my last trip, only one of the pizzas contained meat - a sausage pizza. As a meat lover, this greatly reduced the menu options for me. Fourth and finally, the prices are seriously high. As in $18-20 for a personal pizza and $7.50 for a pint of beer. I believe that is the most I have paid for a pint in Seattle outside of Ms games. The prices alone are enough to keep me from a return visit, especially given the service and odd shared seating.
