I work close to Pacific Place and Ive been here twice for lunch and both times have been absolutely great! I know some people love to hate chains but the food was actually great and the service makes me want to go back there so I wont discredit them just because theyre a chain. The first time I went, a couple of friends and I made reservations and were seated in the 2nd floor. I had the Conchiglie al Pollo which was just amazing -- my mouth waters just thinking about it. My friends also loved their dishes a lot. Our waiter was being trained at that moment but he was warm and friendly. Additionally, he was very attentive. We left with nothing but good things to say about the place. The second time I went, a friend and I just showed up at lunch and were immediately seated. We ordered the Calamaretti Fritti for our appetizer. It was perfectly cooked. The pieces were tender and the batter was perfectly seasoned. Although they were deep fried, the calamari didnt leave your hands feeling greasy (because we decided to dig in with our hands at some point -- they were THAT good!). My friend ordered the Porcini Risotto and I was pretty full from eating most of the calamari so I ordered the Zuppa del Giorno (which happened to be mushroom soup). Both were AMAZING. The risotto had a mild, earthy flavor but it was bursting with deliciousness. We were left talking about how amazing it was between every bite. I loved my mushroom soup too -- it was flavorful without being overpowering. Our wait staff this time was as friendly as it was the first time we went. They were attentive, kept giving us bread (because we gobbled it up because we were hungry and it was delicious) and were prompt without being pushy. Needless to say, I will be coming back for sure.

The food is good as was the service, but weve had better elsewhere. I had the gnocchi which seemed warmed from the fridge. Even some of my dumplings were torn like they were scraped from the pan. Maggianos does a better gnocchi. Hubby had the penne al forno. His pasta was excellent and the few meatballs that were included were small, but tasty. We shared a tiramisu. Sadly, the dessert was soggier than usual and mushed down while we were getting our first bite. It tasted pretty good, but it went down a bit too much like a milkshake. Side note: we made our reservation yesterday for tonight at 6:00PM. We were seated as soon as we arrived, but anyone showing up without a reservation was told they would have at least a 30 minute wait. The service we received was excellent. Our waitstaff were knowledgable and polite. I dont remember our main servers name, but she was very efficient and professional while waiting on us and several other tables. The name on the receipt was Jax, but Im doubting that was her name.

Tried an order via Grubhub and while Grubhub got it right, the restaurant got it all mixed up and didnt start making it until I was standing there asking for it to be made based on the original order. Service was terrible - waited for 10 minutes before someone had time to help me out (was told by 3 different people to talk to 3 other different people - clearly nobody wanted to help). When phoning originally to find out about certain offerings the phone rang out 3 times, and when I finally got through I was put on hold and never gotten back to (after stupidly waiting 10 mins in hopes of having someone pick back up). Food was quite good but nowhere near as good as authentic, home-cooked Italian dishes. Restaurant layout is super weird and was strange there was a section connected to the mall that is almost like an old school diner. Atmosphere is attempted pretentiousness without a warrant. 3/5 cotolettas.

We had dinner here in early September, 2011. We should have realized when we walked in the place that it was not what we were looking for. We wanted more of a privately owned establishment with real Italian food. Our hotel highly recommended it so we went with it. We entered off of the street and did not realize until after dinner that they are connected to a mall. We realized that all the hotels must recommend this place despite its food because the hostess asked us if our hotel sent us and in which hotel were we staying. It is a step down from a Carrabas and Olive Garden. Food was lousy. Salad was very American. We didnt even eat the bread which looked very processed and non-Italian. Chicken was over cooked and very dry. Service was good.

My boyfriend and I went for the second time for valentines and I was absolutely impressed. We got the same waiter as last valentines Ford; and he actually remembered us which was pretty impressive considering I can barely remember what I had for breakfast. But he was phenomenal his service was above par and he was very friendly which we remembered from last year is that great service and food which is why we decided to go again. The food was exquisite and the dessert was to die for. Absolutely made my valentines that much more special having such an amazing dinner and service. My boyfriend and I are sad to be leaving Seattle and relocating out the state or else we would have been back next year too!!!

I had been to II Fornaio once before about ten years ago. I had a great time ten years ago, the reason I havent been back is multiple reason but nothing to do with the restaurant. I went last night with my wife. The service is fantastic, the server was full Italian which helps with the Authenticity the one thing that brought me down a bit was the lipstick on our wine glass. I know its small but there are standards with the prices. you serve a pizza for 20.00 your glasses and your silverware needs to be clean. Theres no excuses, for that none. But otherwise the food was good, the service was good, the lighting the decor the environment was good. I do suggest if you havent been there go. Markos P.

Mama Mia was this a great place to stumble into. From great food to amazing staff. I was wondering around late evening reading menus around surrounded restaurants. This one had my appetite wet. I wasnt sure what to decide on. I always ask the wait staff in these situations. He recommended the risotto. And so would I now! A mushroom risotto that I could have easily had a second plate of. So much so, I asked if hed be willing to give me the recipe. I have one similar, but nothing that good. The waiter gave me plenty of helpful tips for around the Seattle area too, along with free dessert card for bringing back my wife. We will sure to be back when back in town.
