Eastern is just what the International District needed. A third place that would fit perfectly in Fremont, Ballard, or the U-District. The baristas actually know how to make a consistent cappuccino, the crepes are a great deal, and they have some excellent alcoholic options for the evening. The atmosphere is very comfortable. The music is subtle, everything is made of wood, and there is plenty of seating. Granted, there arent many Asian things about it, despite being in Chinatown, but it doesnt feel out of place to me. Highly recommended - have your next meeting here or just come get some work done on your laptop, they have wifi of course.

Excellent site in Seattles I-District, the success of this space is a sign of neighborhood development that goes right doesnt have to follow a model of razing a neighborhood and its displacing its character by replacing local and lower margin businesses with high end (and always meaning high dollar). Bravo for this new community anchor thats at once a fresh and lively presence. This is a business that would have been in-sync with particular site and general neighborhood for any and all of time past while being attuned to remain in harmony with the community while influencing the future ID.

This is my favorite place to meeting up with people or get some work done in the ID. They have great coffee and lots of good food options (which is great for what is primarily a coffee shop). Im a sucker for a good crepe, and they have quite the variety of options. Its got a really beautiful aesthetic inside, too, and Ive always found the baristas to be really helpful and kind.

Friendly and intelligent staff. Cheap happy hour. Excellent selection (crepes, coffee, gelato, afigato, beer, and wine) and open late enough to get work done into the evening. Generally creative clientele makes it a good place to meet people from the Chinatown community, both artistic and tech. High quality eavesdropping.

Excellent crêpes (sweet or savory)! I had the vegetarian and added an egg to it. Good vibe, great place to meet up and chat or work on your computer (80% of the people here while I ate my lunch and enjoyed my afternoon coffee, while working on my computer, were working on their computer).

I agree with Brady. Eastern doesnt feel like an ID place, more like something out of Fremont or Ballard. Its beautiful, mellow, and almost empty on the weekends. Lots of wood, high ceilings, good music. Great place to grab a latte or a beer and sit at the beautiful big table in front.

Great local atmosphere, with tasty food options & freshly made meals. Coffee & tea choices are excellent and they have a nice happy hour for many drinks, including cider. Wi-Fi is sufficient, but drops occasionally. Street level & loft seating give an open & fresh feel to the place.

This little cafe has great coffee, but thats not why you should come. The food is great and really really well priced for the International District. The Art is fun and worth a look when your done savoring the mushroom filled savory crepes or the best sandwiches in the ID.

I love the atmosphere of this place. The art the best. Check out the Facebook page because sometimes they host events. My barista was nice .....they made me this amazing London Fog modded with some kind of tea with coconut in it? It was really good

Besides World Pizza this might be the most Brooklynesque spot that you will find in the International District. Great spot to tuck into for a rainy day of telecommuting. Also, if you have spare time you can drop by the pinball museum next door.

Soothing music, relaxing atmosphere, plenty of seating. Great happy hour menu on beer, wine, & gelato daily from 4-7p! Didnt expect this type of cafe in the middle of Chinatown. Great little hang out, will be back for sure!!

Great place to do work or hang out with friends, space lends itself well to either with spacious downstairs and comfortable loft. The crepes and sandwiches are fantastic and the happy hour beer prices are amazing.

Great place to hang out, meet, or study with nice cup of coffee or tea. It has an upstairs space if you need more privacy. They have a great selection of loose leaf teas, coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and gelato!

Good study spot with ample seating, wifi, and outlets. The drinks are reasonably priced and pretty good too. It was a bit uncomfortably hot upstairs though, without AC and I feel the lighting could be better.

Wonderful cafe in the International District with high ceilings (not if youre on the mezzanine) and great decor and furniture. I havent tried food here, but the espresso drinks and teas are great.

Extremely comfortable shop where the baristas are proud of what they do, as they should be - they do it well. Enjoyed my double macciado and the peace and quiet. What a wonderful space they have!

Good natural light, not too crowded, music is decent and not too loud. Crepes. Baked goods from Fuji Bakery, which is hella good. Open later than most things. Beer and wine. Crepes!

The staff acts like they dont care about their customers at all, and the coffee isnt that great. I only gave this place two stars because their latte art is cute.

Got a ham&brie sand which ($6) and a coffee, and got work done. A nice open loft in the I district that does the coffee shop thing pretty well.
