This place is simply amazing! We live in the neighborhood so we just walked over one Sunday afternoon after hearing nothing but positive reviews of this place from our neighbors. The place is small but spotless. The donuts and other goodies are on display and there are a ton of options. They tend to have more classic varieties as opposed to some of the other donuts shops that have more creative donuts, but it doesnt make a huge difference since they do the classics so well! We ordered the plain cronuts because we heard that they were their specialty. They were wonderful! Flakey and soft, but not too greasy. This place is close enough to LACMA and the Page Museum that we brought our cronuts over for a little Sunday picnic. tip: the parking lot is small but there is plenty of street parking. Though it is a permit parking district, there is 2hr parking between 8am-6pm every day. Dahlia Bakery is best.

Popped in for some indulgent breakfast items. I asked for a toasted buttered english muffin and was told that I couldnt get it toasted because it was past 10am. Mmkay.... that the flat tops arent available for toasting. Ever heard of a toaster Dahlia Bakery...? Its the latest craze. So I had to butter my untoasted english muffin with cold butter pats and basically destroyed it. The chocolate fudge cookie was really good but a little too hard. Could have been a day old for all I know. I sat outside in the sun, read my book and fed the birds some of my muffin. Which had a nut sprinkled in here and there. Which I enjoyed actually but might potentially kill someone who would never suspect there were nuts in their english muffin. Which no one in their right mind would. Overpriced and over hyped but it was there and I was hungry. One of those Seattle institutions etc.

Walking down the street to return to my car and noticed a line of people outside of this place. Stopped to see just what everyone was doing here. Got a cookie and a small ginger berry cake to bring home. Both were really good! The cakes, to me, were a bit expensive but from what Ive tasted might be worth the cost. The cookies were $2 each, which is high to me however tasty. People were eating the breakfast type foods and judging by the line this place is known to be good. The inside was very small, maybe 3 customers could fit inside to order. While having some good baked goods I will try other bakerys in the area before returning, nothing bad here just nothing to bring me back to try.

Asked the guy with the pony tail if the food was organic and/or free range since theyre asking a premium price for a ham breakfast sandwich (which is average). He told me that he didnt know anything about the food, but he did know that he didnt need to defend their prices to me. If you cant defend your higher prices, then maybe you dont have a good reason to charge $7 for a small ham sandwich and $4.75 for eclaire donut. Or maybe you just shouldnt be interacting with customers. Was just a weird experience for a reasonable question.

The Dahlia Bakery is small and Mighty. Its main claim to fame is the Coconut Cream Pie which comes in every size - from a bite ($2) to a 9" ($36). But everything is amazing. Breakfast sandwiches ($6 avg) are fantastic. Sweets are superb - Eclairs ($5), Caramel Apple Brioche pull apart rounds ($9), Cookies ($2), Brownies ($4) - thats just the tip of the iceberg in this walk-up that holds 4 customers at a time, max. Round this out with great coffee and super friendly service...and Im glad I dont live closer! Id gain 20 pounds!

I dont think Ive ever had a cookie that made me put on my "oh my lord this is good face" until now. I thought, and probably still think $4 is ridiculous but at the same time their baking execution is very good. Chocolate chip walnut cookie? Golden brown on top, undercooked in the middle for a really chewy bite, and melted chocolate EVERYWHERE. Its a pretty dense cookie and it is really rich. I actually kind of regret not buying more than one and bringing some back to Seattle.

This tiny bakery is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Seattle! I have never had any of the yummy-looking cookies, cakes and pastries (though they make them in-house each day and they look and smell incredible!), but the breakfast sammies keep me coming back time and time again. If you get there when they first open or earlier during the weekend, expect a line, but it moves quickly.

This had been on my list to visit for a while and I hadnt gotten around to it - until the AMA Heart walk. I got a lot of weird looks from my group when I ran ahead, popped inside, only to catch up covered in croissant flakes. But it was worth it. It is a small location that can occasionally get backed up, but its lovely to pop in for a quality pastry to boost your day.

We had the Triple Coconut Cream Pie on a recent trip to Seattle. We didnt have anything else because the pie was more than enough for us. If youre a fan of coconut this is a must have and if youre not you need to give it a try. It is not overly sweet and the crust has the right amount of crispiness. There is an abundance of coconut in this pie, but thats a good thing!

Hazelnut chocolate tart - actually chunks of hazelnut in a chocolate tart, as opposed to a Nutella-esque tart filling. Gingerbread cookie - one of our favorites. Seasonal though, as I found out last spring. They only have them in the fall/winter. Chocolate truffle cookie - tastes like a brownie. Delicious. Almost like it better than the gingerbread cookie...

As many before me have proffered, their coconut cream pies are what theyre most well known for--and rightfully so! My metric for judging a bakery, however, is not by their specialty items, but by the basics. For me, thats the butter croissant. And dear me, Dahlia Bakery has, in my opinion (humble though it may be), the BEST croissants in Seattle. Period.

Not only do they have some of the best coconut cream pie Ive ever had, the staff there is insanely kind taking time out of their busy day to walk a newcomer through the best parts of their menu. The most delightful experience I had in Seattle during a quick trip through a wonderful city. Tip: The Chocolate Truffle Cookies are addictive.

Dahlia Bakery has awesome baked goods (Chocolate Truffle cookies are great) and really nice lunch specials, including soups around $5 and sandwiches from $8-9. Its a great way to sample some of the breads and desserts that are served at other Tom Douglas locations like Palace Kitchen, Lola, and Dahlia Lounge at a cheaper price.

A little gem. This tiny bakery is next to their restaurant and offers bread, pastries, sweets, soup, and sandwiches to go. They only have a few cafe tables and chairs on the sidewalk. I had a bacon breakfast sandwich and a peanut cookie. Both were amazing. My French friend told me its the best place in Seattle to get bread.

Delicious, small bakery - what a gem. There is no seating inside but they have cute yellow tables right on the street where you can enjoy their pastry and a coffee. Its lovely to seat here. Their pastries are amazing. Not too sweet and tastes like mom made them. They also have great, German and French style bread.
