My low rating is for value, the food is actually quite delicious. What they call a torta (actually a strata) is amazing. However, beyond that I find this place very expensive. I do deliveries all over the Seattle metro area and am quite familiar with other amazing bakeries, Fresh Flours and Bakery Nouvea come to mind. CC Bakery is by far the least value for the money, and they recently raised their prices! They seem to specialize in making mini-pastries and charging full size prices. Many of their bakery items are 2/3 the size of comparable pastries at other Seattle bakeries. The pan-au-chocolate is exceptionally small (maybe 3"x4")and its $3.50. Come on guys, give people what they pay for; youre in Columbia City, not Ballard or Bellevue!

We come here occasionally for special bakery items. They have good (and somewhat surprising) savory scones. Their cakes have never disappointed me. They have a small handful of gluten-free offerings. They actually do not have that many choices of cake slices or whole cakes for walk-in customers, but their cake menu is online and you can order a cake ahead of time if you want to get one or a party or birthday or something. I ordered my wedding cake here (hazelnut cake!) last year. The service is friendly and helpful, both on the phone and in the store. Parking can be a bit hairy in the area, but not impossible. The area is nice enough that you can park a bit further and take a pleasant stroll to the bakery.

Visited this place after I had their *delicious* buttermilk cake from a birthday party. The carrot cake, raspberry pie, sesame cookies, croissants, and fruit scones were all *excellent*. There didnt have too many options for cakes by the slice in their store (just the pistachio and carrot), but Im not sure if that was the case because we visited half an hour from closing. Their pistachio cake was a tad dry. What wasnt too great was their staff ushering all the guests out exactly at closing time. In my experience, lingering for a few minutes has been fine. Overall though, definitely one of the better bakeries around and Ill visit again.

Tables out front looked inviting to sit with my little dog. Girl inside would not let me purchase and take food outside. I get the service dog law, really but her excuse was that someone might be allergic while I paid for my pastries! Im not about to be the next one to post a distressful cry for help because someone took my dog that was tied up outside while I was purchasing food. She was unreasonable and so is this prejudicial policy. Solution, dont support it!

the pain de campagne is excellent. so is their sourdough bagette. both have good crusts with soft, fluffy bread inside. their cold brew is flavorful and not overwhelmingly bitter. they use different single origin beans from time to time. croissants are light, flaky, and just the right amount of buttery. expensive, but imo worth the quality. service is inconsistent at times, but thats either due to the brunch rush or new staff.

Awesome community bakery not just the variety of breads and pasteries that they offer but the employees too. My daughter wants to be a pastry chief and Ms. Marlena was gracious with her time happily answering all my daughters questions. I am so grateful for Community businesses that want to encourage our children in the careers that they aspire to be in as adults.

There were four in my party, so I tried a little of everything. The tiramisu was a little sweet but still delicious (and enormous). My profiterole had a delectable texture, but I wasnt a fan of pure whipped cream in the center (I prefer pastry cream). The lemon meringue tart was balanced. While yummy, I wouldnt say this was out-of-this-world delicious.

Violently ill after eating only part of the most disgusting veggie torta. Oh, the irony of a bakery serving something made by someone who so clearly cant bake! Or maybe it was the still dirty silverware? Vomiting out the car window a few blocks away solidified the horror of this meal. What a dramatic finish to lousy service and an unclean setting.

This place is as good as I heard. Very high quality baked products and reasonable prices. It may be the only place left in Seattle where you can get a espresso drink for under $3 -and GOOD coffee too. I love the atmosphere - again, not a lot of places that feel so authentic and neighborly.

After reading several its claiming this place was the best breakfast spot in Seattle, we were disappointed. The coffee was just okay and none of the food we got was out of this world (dont get the coffee cake- its dry and yuck). It was crowded so we didnt get a table. I would never go back!

Difficult to get to, but their german chocolate cakes are unique and memorable. Their turnaround time was really good -- better than the supermarkets could do for me. After getting the first one for a birthday, it started being requested by others, thats how special it is.

Best Seattle area bakery Ive experienced so far. Excellent selection of exquisitely executed baked goods and a laid back, comfortable atmosphere. Tried the fig and walnut bread, strawberry Danish, ginger cookies, and olive oil orange poundcake. All homeruns.

I visit this place every time I visit my hometown. Fantastic American staples and knock out french baked goods. Best pistachio "escargot" outside of Paris. If this bakery had been around when I was growing up, I might never have left.

Maybe they just had an off day or maybe I just have high standards after living in France, but the croissants were literally the worst Ive ever had. Waiting in the crazy long line was absolutely not worth it.

Great savory breakfast items (try the veggie torta - delish). Line was long but it went fast. Cookies are really good. Only thing that keeps it from being a 5-star would be the price...kind of expensive.

Stop by here for AMAZING breads- especially the seeded baguette and rustic sourdough. I also love their fruit Danishes, but as a general rule their pastries and deserts dont measure up to bakery nouveau.

This place used to be good, now the prices have gone way up and the quality has hit rock bottom, I dont know why this happened but this place really needs a miracle if they want to stay in Business.

Very good, I would recommend the pistachio snail and a drip coffee. A comfortable place to grab a quick bite to eat, the seating area was clean and warm inside. I will be returning.

So much good stuff here. Much of the pastries are European and many seem to be eastern European. All are made with care and quality ingredients. The coffee is really good too.

Wonderful artisan bakery. Great for a snack, a lunch, or a date. Many options for freshly made pastries, and small foods. Great options for fair trade and/or organic food.

I love that an amazing place like this is within walking distance. I would make special trips here if it wasnt. I have never been dissatisfied with the taste and quality.

Great neighborhood bakery. We come her often to grab treats for the kids and hang out on weekend mornings. Get here early though to beat the crowds!
